@@SmokyMtnSteam Yep. She was brand new when she arrived at cass in 1905. Truly an amazing machine. I don't know if you know this or not but shays 5 and shay 4 are the only two engines in casses collection that where actually there in the logging days. 4 arrived in 1943 and operated till 1960 when the mill closed. So those two shays are classes true logging veterans. Would be awesome if they did a double header to durbin with those two.
Amazing to see the trains in the snow
Beautiful run with Cass Scenic Railroad Shay #5 (Built by Lima Locomotive Works in 1905).

The deers look beautiful!
My special needs son really likes deer 🦌 too because they are mentioned in the Bible and because of Walt Disney's story Bambi.
Never thought I'd see this happen, but hey I'm not complaining.
Cass used to do "snow runs" in the 70s and early 80s IIRC. This is the first time they've done that in my lifetime though, at least that I'm aware of.
Right up my alley. Let it snow.
Nice Video! I ran into you that day at the Cass parking lot.
Thanks! It was nice to meet you.
Great Video!
Thanks!
