Funnything i was on # 6 in b carriage i saw you a few times lol. Didt think i would see this video. I loved the ride and scenery. Old number six is one of my favorite engines there and the strongest engine they have!
@Barkley512 I've honestly missed her since NCTM gave her up. The museum just hasn't been the same to me since the first time I saw her in 2000 when I was a kid and she was still operating.
Man, all the engines except for maybe Shay 4 had some pretty eerie sounding whistles for the Halloween season (especially the "Banshee", that thing almost sounds like a coyote howling at night). On another note, is WM Shay 6 operating on just two cylinders? Its exhaust beat sounds kind of off here.
@@TobyPasman Yes a lot of old pictures of #4 in the museum. My great grandfather, Granville Barkley was on it when it pulled the last load of logs off the mountain
@@Barkley512 gotcha, thank you, bout to say those tracks have Ben there since 1901 I hear, I’m all for keeping history intact and alive, I absolutely love it!
I just came across this video ... Subscribed!!!
@@XBOXShawn12thman Thank you. Hope you enjoyed it
Awesome jobe and lovec the whistles! I need to get back to WV and check some of these areas out from your videos
Be awesome if you do. There is a lot down here to explore. Thanks for the comments
I didn't realize big 6 was back in service.

Engine 4's Lunkenheimer sounds like normal again

Thats a spooky prr banshee on big six and number 11 has the lunkahimer mockingbird whistle it looks like.
Man that would really creep me out on a stormy nite!😮
@@Clawzord2277 Thanks for the comment. Was a great day at Cass
Yes, that is the Lunkenhiemer Mockingbird whistle
That’s a C&O banshee
@justinguy4622 c&o never used a banshee only the prr did use them.
Seeing the old 604 tender for BC&G #4 was a bit of a surprise only because I never kept up with where she went when she left the NCTM.

Love the hooter on 11, that’s a mockingbird right?

What whistle was on shay 5?
@@steamenginefan100 I’m not sure
To me it sounds like one of the N&W hooter whistles

Both 4 and 5 are native to Cass. #5 came in 1906 and #4 was 1943.
