I’ve fitted grp’s onto my typhon 6s tonight and the buggy will have its first tarmac outing tomorrow , no speed runs as it’s only a small play area , I’m hoping for great fun handling , I’ve lowered mine lots too , thanks for your inspirational vid , look forward to the next episode 👍🏻😎
I have the v4 and v5, love them, I slap the high speed pinion in right away, tires are smaller, never have heat issues. There fast and fun!!!! Love the video!!!
Awesome show !! I run the dboot gold hoons on my Arrma Typhon 6s. I'm running 46 spur and 18 pinion. Its moving good. I run a whole 5000mah 6s pack through it. No overheating. I do run dual yeah racing fans on the motor. I also upgraded to a 40mm yeah racing fan on the esc. Handles well.
Yeah you can tell it needs gearing up or huge wheels😄 My personal gear change when running off-roaders for on-road speedruns is add at least 5 teeth to spur size running the stock wheels or add at least 7 teeth with smaller wheel's, just my personal preference though😁 Sweet run man!👌🤘
Yeah it did 62 with the dirt tires on it. The smaller tires now made it slower. But I have now put. 20 tooth on it and the punch up to 8. Getting better!!
How lucky were your to find that nut🙂 ive spent many hours looking for lost nuts and parts in tall grass 🙁 sweet rip dude. Your making me want to put it on my shopping list....👍👍
Dude the typhon 3s and 6s are seriously good versatile cars. It amazes me. They are undervalued for sure in my opinion. Can't wait bro my dremel should be here soon gonna throw a spektrum 150a and 4074 2050kv motor in it only gonna run 3s an 4s for now though. After I get my steel differentials etc I'll try 6s :p
@@BarstoneRC absolutely, I almost got the 6s as my first but just decided on the 3s cause cheaper to work on an since was gonna be first rc car figured learn more before I buy a 6s. Now bout 5 months later I've got all the tools I need I've completely taken mine apart an learned some other stuff can't wait to find a place start working on that k6s
The reason why that keeps happening is because the wounds are a tire that was profession to do high speed but it was not professional lies to last a long time so when they look run down like that there's a reason that you should switch them out because they do take a beating and sometimes you don't know it but they can be bent or warped you know when you can never tell them to you take it off and look at it
Yeah one thing I’ve learned through this speed run stuff is tires are very important, but I have now decided to order a proper speed run car and there will be a little more of that stuff coming to the channel here and there.
Yeah tires make a big diff. I was looking at the calculator and on 50/20 typhon set up using Kraton 169mm tires I'd get 101mph vs 64.3 mph with the 107mm hoons. I'm getting 68 on a stretched typhone with firma stock gear, 107/53 hoons all around. Wondering if the 7mm diff from the 42/100 hoons make an 11mph difference. Would you try the 107mm hoons? They're on sale on on amazon for 26bucks. After I spent 40 on each pair lol. Anyway great video, love you videos, your voice reminds me of John Candy.
I guess I’ll take John candy as a compliment, lol but yeah this was a lot of fun working on getting this car up to 100 mph I got so so close and I might revisit this again. But I’m glad you enjoyed the videos buddy and thanks for watching
I got the typhon and it’s growing on me but any obstacles on the road make it lose control, better for really low grass or like baseball field dirt, I’ve just jumped it and it does well though, I like it
For the aluminum yeah you could use any normal spray paint I would very lightly rough it up with very fine sandpaper just so that it sticks better as far as plastics if it’s not the body you could probably use the same but definitely use body paint when doing the body.
@@BarstoneRC kk was thinking along the same lines. Like maybe rough up the aluminum a little with a wire brush or sandpaper like you said. Seems arrma loves the color red when it comes to alot of the stuff even the aftermarket stuff is mainly red. Have a certain color scheme I'd like to do but gotta figure out what works etc
Completely stock, yesterday I was able to get it to 64 with the throttle set to 100. Hit 62 Witz it set to 75. Both were the highest speeds I reached thus far with a single 5200mah 6s battery. I wish I did a video but I should be able to do it again becsusecI finally found s location long enough to be able to maximize it's speed. Cant imagine how fast it would be with the speed pinion in.
What kind of street tires are you running and where can I get them? I am going to be doing a street race against 4wd slash that's geared up on 3s going to turn up my punch level up what is your thoughts on it?
Is that an m2c chassis and if the chassis bends a little bit on an arrma is it trash or can you drive it if it’s bent a little, just wondering cause idk if I should get a new car with a metal chassis
Totally agree with you that the Typhon is one of the best all around rc's. It can do everything.
It really is.
I’m building my typhon right now! I’m pumped to rip on it!! Already Have a Kraton and I love it!!
Love the Typhon great car for all kinds of different bashing

Yeah I have to get a different spur gear if I want to gear this thing up more and get any more speed out of it I guess.
Yeah you can tell it needs gearing up or huge wheels😄

Good run! I hit 60mph on my Typhon 6S V5 with stock tires.
Yeah it did 62 with the dirt tires on it. The smaller tires now made it slower. But I have now put. 20 tooth on it and the punch up to 8. Getting better!!
Awesome stuff!
Thanks
cool runs and awesome buggy, have a great weekend brother

Honestly I was shocked I found it I thought for sure it was gone. You will not be disappointed in this car man it just rips and just awesome!!
@@BarstoneRC yeah. I've a couple of new rc's comming to the channel. Once I'm done I think this one will be next.
I ordered a typhon 6s v5 today :):) I’m so pumped
Love mine. It’s a really fun and fast car.
Get some extra tires, u will need them lol. Heavier diff oil in center diff helps too.
I love mine. Tons of power
Great run!!! I just added the mega into my collection n I'm bout to put a 6s set up in her. Love the typhon!!!!!💯❤👊🏽👊🏽
Good speed run 👍🏾🦾💯
Love me those hoovo batteries, such an awesome deal!
They really are and the batteries work great and hold up pretty well.
Great video can’t wait to take my Typhon out of a run👊👊💯💯
The Typhon 6s is a blast. Love that car.

are they worth the 500 price. I wanna get one but I feel it's to much for an rc car
They are a great car they’re fast they’re fun they jump nice definitely worth it
@@BarstoneRC thanks ima order one this week
Not bad speed for the tires being smaller 👍
I’m gearing it up some!

So how fast have you had out of it and with what gears. Great video but not seen the next step video.
98mph
@@BarstoneRC so close. What is the maxx gearing befor it melts
Lol I’m not sure haven’t tuched mine
Another great video broski gonna buy couple stickers from you within the week ^_^
Thanks buddy I appreciate it
@@BarstoneRC not a problem bud. Know I'm gonna put one of the stickers on my little tool box other not sure just yet

I got 94mph out of mine before the esc started cutting out. I only added fans, tires and changed the gearing.
What gearing did u use?
35t pinion and 40t spur... it gets hot but it's good for a speed run.
Typhon or talion? I feel like the typhon is better, but I like the talion look better.
I think my nest car will be a talion I want to try one out.
I got the typhon and it’s growing on me but any obstacles on the road make it lose control, better for really low grass or like baseball field dirt, I’ve just jumped it and it does well though, I like it
Stock tires are bad. Change them and it’s a lot better
Out of curiosity do you know what kind of paint could use on the aluminum? Assume acrylic enamel for the plastics?

I know they’re pretty fast but I don’t think the durability is quite there

These are the Dboots Hoons tires. 17mm
@@BarstoneRC thanks for the info bro going to get them for the race I got the 2wd slash with the vlx and tsm yesterday that truck is fast
Looking forward to seeing how fast you can get it! Something is just really fun about speed buggies right?
I’m having fun with it for sure!!
Check out my speed run videos with the V5 Typhon
Is that an m2c chassis and if the chassis bends a little bit on an arrma is it trash or can you drive it if it’s bent a little, just wondering cause idk if I should get a new car with a metal chassis
This car is still completely stock other than different shock oil. I have yet to bend the stock chassis on this car and it’s got some pretty good air.
All so what punch level are you running it looks like you are at 3
It was stock then. I have now set it to 8 and put a 20 tooth on it.
@@BarstoneRC awesome bro
A little loctite always helps
Yeah that was the first time I had a tire go flying off like that usually I keep them pretty tight.
Hey Bar man awesome video brother gave you a shot out on mine video just posted check it out thanks. A upgrade on Typhon 6S for sure.
I’ll come ck it out. Sorry I haven’t got to watch much over the last few days. Setting up for this dog show thing here it Tulsa Oklahoma for ESPN.
I hit 101mph with my Typhon 6s on those tires and stock electronics. Check out my videos.
Yawn :)
