American Idol got it wrong. Hands down, Haley was the best since Kelly...and still is!
Bud Simpson Idol IS wrong. Plastic crap. I can only ever take a few minutes if I catch it on. Haley should never have gone on. She would have risen in her own way without all the attached junk. Now she's still associated with it. Hard one to shake off. But she has a voice and performance quality that will eventually leave Idol behind in the mud, where it belongs.
+malarbusto I never watch Idol, but happened to see her vid w/PMJ singing "Oops, I Did It Again" while cruisin' YT a few months ago. That was all it took to hook me. We did get some great performances from her on Idol, such as "House of Rising Sun" and "Rolling In The Deep". Regardless, she has moved on from her Idol days, doing very well for sure.
+Bud Simpson Thankfully, it was RUclips that brought Haley to my attention not American Idle; an abomination to the craft of musicianship where television ad execs thought they could determine what moves people. Thank God that crap is coming to end.
+Bud Simpson I would have to agree since I am not an Idol fan. I found Kelly Clarkson because of her music and then I found out she won idol. Same thing with Haley. They are both incredibly talented and classy.
those shows look for easy hits... can´t do that with someone that talented who requires a "professional" audience to be appreciated :)
+John Wolters This is not a wedding, it's one of a series of shows at Laguna Beach Jazz festival, there were 500 guests there. Haley will be touring Australia w/ Postmodern Jukebox, has an EP coming soon, has sold and is collecting royalties for songs she's written, one used in Chase commercials and will be voicing a character in a Vince Vaughn/Bill Burr produced animation show on Netflix. So...yeah... she's doing more than "playing weddings" :P

+Benjamin Kushigian Yep. When you back a singer, you leave your ego at home. Your job is to provide the foundation for the singers art, not to trample all over it and show off your own chops. Lack of understanding and professionalism. Shame. The pianist was at it a bit too, but thankfully he was low in the mix.
It's dead. No soul. Noise. No musicality. Not fond of this band. Haley is spectacular. Prefer Haley with Irvin Mayfield's group. Getz would have had a much improved vibe on the tenor, plus not stepping on the vocalist.

I'm not so sure about that. Etta emphasized the song, it wasn't about how her voice sounded, totally the opposite of most of today's singers, who are just trying to impress with their vocal gymnastics.

Going with the wife to see PMJ in Sacramento in December and really hope Miss Reinhart is performing with them. Absolutely LOVE her voice. I listen to her cut of Seven Nation Army on a daily basis.

It isn't always the best that win the prize. That was obvious with several of the American Idol "winning" contestants. I'm not a country fan, but I couldn't even stand to watch and listen to Scotty. Haley is the prize that we all still are lucky enough to see and hear.
