I was waiting for a clip at the end of the video of it being driven into an iso container headed for Suffolk. Great video as always.
There's a much closer Suffolk it could go to :p
Lawrie you have some interesting enthusiasm but your showmanship and attention to detail never cease to keep my attention.
Keep it up
I have a old 4 cyl diesel Ferguson 35 with a front loader that I got more or less for some house work and I love it! They are great small tractors even today. It is also the reason I found your channel (somewhat, the mini dump truck in the back of the van also helped) and also why I watch all your tractor videos when they come out. Keep up the good work!
What a lovely little tractor and i hope it got a beautiful place to work and stay warm and dry.
Sad i didn't live in America and had the opportunity to buy it 🙏🏻
I sure could use on small tractor like that.
Keep these amazing videos coming Lawrie 💪🏻
Stumbled upon an operating relic, surrounded by beautiful scenery, the weather seemed perfect as well... its like food for the soul. The zen tractor experience. And, you don't need to make space for it in your own shed! I don't know about you, Lawrie, but if I had more space, I would probably just collect more stuff!
As a ex farmer.. in the day they wernt my favourite ...due too really steep hills in co durham england.... having poor no engine braking,..unlike diesels.....they were guilty of running away out of control... also the original skinny front tyres made for dodgy steering. ...great channel love old tractors...cheers from dave
I love the look of that with the headlights!
Cool. Nice to see it alive again.
Massey Harris and Ferguson merged in 1953. They ran two separate sets of dealers and equipment lines for a number of years afterwards but each had to sell the others equipment. It is quite likely your TO-30 is painted red because it was sold by a Massey Harris dealer.
Did you go and look at the Fairmont Railway Motor Car in the background? S2 model I believe. Flywheel 1 cylinder hit or miss engine, cloth belt drive- you should check it out as it's a loco by its own right!
I've been wondering how long it sat. I'm figuring a small number of years for the battery to still have as much charge left as it did in your previous video or someone charged it along the way but never did anything with it.
I grew-up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. We had an old Massey Harris around with a John Deere #5 sicklebar mower. It wasn't running in that time and we were running too flat-out with the farm to do anything with it. Beside, it was narrow-front so wasn't going to be one we wanted to use in that uneven ground.
The rest we had were all Allis Chalmers. We had a CA which had a hydraulic pump run off the PTO. It was the only one we regularly used without the "power director" or range selector. It had a hand clutch that worked by disengaging the right-hand side of the rear axle so the differential would freewheel. We had a D17 with no remote ram couplers and we never used the snap coupler - it got used for tedding and raking, and running the blower for silage. Our main tractors were a 170 and 180 and I spent so much time running those to mow and bale hay. The 170 had a very similar seat design, albeit with cushions. It bottomed out all the time. The 180 was a bit better.
12 to 18 months is stated somewhere, so not long at all.
Regarding your comment about heat, in my experience most antique american tractors get very hot and just radiate large amounts of heat as they run normally. The impressive part is at a tractor pull as the sun goes down and seeing the exhaust stack glowing from the heat of the exhaust
Man, you're in my hometown... If we weren't stuck, I'd say lets go to the Great Smokey National Railroad... it's not too far from you right now. Maybe 45 minutes away?
I think he's home now.
Keep ploughing on mate. ;)
Love tractors, prefer trains enjoyed this
Lol you looked happy and so did the tractor i wouldn't mind a shot of it lol but unfortunately. Not yet maybe one day.👍
My 125cc Varadero almost had more horses than that! Crazy to think that much horsepower would be of any use, but i'm sure the torque figures were pretty impressive! Great video as usual, was worth the 2 part split!
Nice vid
Out standing in its field!
Lawri I just saw u on the show about the NYMR I was like wow it’s lawri 😂
Nice tractor!
Fantastic videos as always! Also how many tractors are you gonna get or have 😂 anyway keep up the great work
Lots of love from Hannah
Now lets see you try to start the tractor at 10:35. :p
Not really a tractor guy, but I've always found those vintage ultra narrow front track tractors neat looking.
But what happened to the wasps nest from the previous vid?
Lovely tractor though, I want one!
Hi Lawrie, I drove a gray T20 in the late80's so my memory is a little foogy. They have a crash box....I think! Can you pull them away in any gear and is it double de clutch to change gears on the move?
Graeme W hi yes you have to double clutch, and you could pull away in any gear. Even fourth gear!
How do you 'find' a tractor' - or should I ask - How can any 1 'lose a tractor' in the 1st place!!!
People forget about things that they've stowed away. Also, you really had to use "any 1"? You couldn't spell anyone? Seriously? Lazy.
@@copperhead577 Or the owner passed away and nobody did care to look for the stuff that was left behind - possibly with nobody inheriting or those that inherited just sold the lot.
@@ehsnils
That too.
@@ehsnils I suspect that's more of the case- given the condition of the tires engine, fuel, battery etc it may have sit for 6 months max.
The T0 30 is not 19hp there’s just over 30hp
Looks like a steal.
next time, get that johnny popper running. it's the rusty john deere sitting next to the road in your vids.
i saw a abandoned tracktor when you were coming up the hill
He has quite a few scattered around!
Yes should be all grey but the red does add some zing. Headlights I do not think are original. I have seen the winged style brackets, angle brackets and your style on various TO20's TO30's and even the Ford 8Ns and TE/TEA series as well. Seems the lights were the first thing to get broken off or changed out by the farmers.
Farmers would paint it red to look like they had the new model!
Do the headlights work? Every old tractor I come across, the wires are gone or the switch is gone. Such a simple thing to have working.
I don't think so
If you Turbo it could it wheelie?
So, did you steal, * coff *, er, BORROW that Fergie? :-)
I would like to see you ploughing with this tractor
Did you start that international tractor?
I've driven a Massey 3080.
Ngl that is a nice tractor
10:40 i thought you were going to stop and have a closer look at that tractor. or drive past and then back up.
Looks to be an old Deere. At first it was a more rare Oliver but the Oliver is more Art Deco looking than that tractor.
Have British built or designed tractors had much influence in the USA?
The 3 point linkage came from Ferguson and double clutch came from the david brown selectamatic tractors so those would be the biggest
It to 30 because a 30hp a to20 is 20hp
What a Winner! I had to pay $1800 for mine!😥
They are fetching proper money these days
Considered about naming the tractor ?
Yeah he already has a Massey 35 in the shed called fergie
LMSFan13065 and the international called jeb
Jack Breen why not little red tractor ?
Lawrie you need to go and test a TAFE 35 DI 37 hp tractor which is the Indian built version of this tractor. They also build other old Massey Ferguson models in their range as well. The UK importers of these tractors is Tractors UK and there website is www.tractorsuk.co.uk. Check them out.
Yes, I think that would be a great thing to do
Is this an old video, or is this what Lawrie occupies himself in quarantine?
I want to see it plow your garden
Somewhere must be an owner oft that tractor
Well yeah, he's mentioned in the video
@@lmm ah. OK. I missed that part i guess
you could import this tractor
I bet you were sad to leave the old girl behind.
anyone fancy going tractor tipping ??
Nah the USA tractors never were Grey/Gold. They went straight from T20 Stoneliegh grey, to Red/Grey.
How do you just find a tractor?Grand theft tractor
I guess in the same way you find anything, you just walk past it?
Strange all I find in old sheds are piles of rotting wood! Lol.
I was waiting for some hirsute individual to come out accusing you of stealing his tractor.
Nope, the gentleman knew about it, though he had genuinely forgotten about the thing
@@lmm I think you missed my thought; I was remembering a number of trucks parked in the middle of a wood. Or are we supposed to believe that too!
Found as in stole? How the fuck can anyone lose a damn tractor they are too useful to ever be so worthless as to just chuck away
Did you steal the tractor or did you bother to locate the owner .tractor is too nice to be abandoned .!!!
Owner had just forgotten about it - he's got several other toys.
