    Thank you for actually showing us the food being cooked and the outcome! So many RUclipsrs just show the unboxing and product and talk and talk and talk and never do the actually cooking outcomes. It's a lot of work that you do and we viewers appreciate it! I especially appreciate that fact, now that I see you have 4 precious little ones to boot! Thank you!!!!🤗💕🏆👍

    I love the Instant Pot now that it is finally out of the box and being used and I also purchased accessories for it which I still have to try out and took them out of the box also. I will probably use a recipe I use for normally cooking corn bread in this appliance, and I have been using cast iron cookware and have to get use to cooking many of the food dishes I normally do in my counter top roaster, or in cast iron.

    I love how nice that insert works, and will have to get one of those after Christmas to use at home. I am a single person and don't want to have plenty of cookware in my small kitchen. My utility bills are down and don't want to run them up either. My roaster is nice for cooking turkey, ham, or beef, but there are times when I want to cook a smaller meal just for myself, and the Instant Pot is perfect for that, along with my oven, and microwave oven. Thanks for sharing the information on the inserts which one can use to cook several dishes at one time in the Instant Pot.

    Hello Indigo, Hope you are well. Thanks for the video. I have a quick query if you can answer. So because the bottom pan does not have a lid, I used the upper as a lid just as a shown. The two unfortunately got stuck and nothing I did could separate the two. I had to throw the whole thing away with the rice still trapped in the bottom pan. The stackable inserts did come with a separate perforated plate which was placed underneath the bottom pan in the package. So I purchased this second time thinking that I probably should have used this perforated plate as the lid for the bottom pan and then stacked it with the top pan. The plate does fit the bottom pan perfectly. But the handle wont close. This has been frustrating and I truly wanted to taste the enjoy stackable steamer but this has been a pain in the butt. Please advice, what to do about this. Shouldn't be rocket science but this is indeed turning into one. Please help.

    So I ordered a 3QT Instant Pot only to find it's REALLY HARD to find accessories. Since most buy 6QT pots... I am alone and don't need that big of a pot. I measured my inside liner inner dimensions and it was about 7 3/8 and 8" on outside measurement. So pans that measure 6 or 6 1/2" are what I would need. I still watch and use your recipes thanks so much!

    That's a Tiffin! In areas of the far East like India they come in all different sizes and are basically lunch boxes. Google "Tiffin Containers". I have two from To-Go Ware. World Market also carries them. The Tiffin might not have separate lids, but World Market has one for $10.

    • @TECstudioSuzukiViolin
      @TECstudioSuzukiViolin 5 лет назад

      I saw the tiffens at an Asian grocery. I suspect they are narrower and sometimes taller. They may be made of a thicker stainless steel with much more sturdy clasps because they get drug around and stacked on top of each other in transit. The steaming pans have another name and do not need to be as rugged.

  • @OhPervyOne

    Hello. I actually have a set of these pans. They're perfect for chili & rice. FYI, the pans are made of stainless steel. There is No need for parchment paper. It'll come out easy and clean (although, maybe with the cornbread... not sure). Also they're dish-washer safe (not that I care; I don't have one), so clean-up should be easy. I do love using the parchment paper. That's handy stuff. It's just not necessary here.
    Personally, tho, I actually prefer to use the spring-form pans for cakes. They're really nifty. You can put in a regular trivet, use one of the insert pots with the lid and put the spring-form pan on top... OR if you prefer to have the spring-form pan covered, put it on the trivet at bottom and put the insert pot on top with the lid. Either way should work just fine. Just because you have a handy kit that packs together so perfectly, doesn't mean you have to use it that way every time. Each part is a useful tool. FOR EXAMPLE, I like to use one insert pot for my rice. I use a silicone trivet at bottom, cook the rice and once that's done pop in the steamer tray to do my veggies right on top of the rice. Any drips go into the pot with the rice and become part of that rice. It's a good thing.
    Have fun!

    I have stacking pots very similar to the Max rock. I Made steamed veggies in one and salmon in the other. Both turned out great. I make a lot of cornb bread, and will have to try the IP way of doing it. I'd rather use a mini-loaf pan for the meatloaf rather than round pans. I'm just funny that way.

  • @ebknight74
    @ebknight74 6 лет назад +6

    Did you use a lean meat so as not to have the meatloaf sitting in grease? Also I usually allow the meatloaf to brown a little at the end of the cooking time. I guess I could still do that but wondered what your thoughts were. Thanks for sharing.

    • @IndigoNili
      @IndigoNili  6 лет назад +6

      I believe the beef I used was 85%. There was some grease but I just lifted the meatloaf out. Yes, you could brown it at the end under the broiler in the oven. I would pull it out of the pan and put it on a baking sheet lined with foil to do that. :)

    Thanks for yet another very informative video. I’m so new to the instant pot and know so little about it that I feel totally terrorized of it. First time I tried using it I had no idea it took that long to come to pressure so I thought it was defective and I just unplugged it and turned to my oven!! Next I tried a roast like two weeks later and it was a good cut but wasn’t tender enough which I should have put it back adding more time. So yes I’m struggling but watching your videos will bring me around and soon I’ll laugh at how scared of it I was. I need an IP cookbook as I never know how much time different things take. After visiting so many other IP channels I must say your videos are THE BEST.

    Was the meatloaf dry? I always wonder if pip makes one thing way over cooked if the times for both items aren’t exactly the same.

      When it's enclosed like that it is almost impossible for it to dry out.

    Hi Nili- I know the pots you recommended are gone but will the pots with the steam hole in them work just as well? Thanks for the video - nice job!

      I don't know which ones with steam holes you're referring to but they wouldn't work quite the same. For baking things you don't want a lot of moisture to get into the pan.

      Might work better for steaming, and let some moisture OUT instead of things puddling. Course a strainer type steaming item is best for that reason. However anyone who buys a set with holes in lid can always put foil over that and wrap just under the lid. One pan will have no holes, only the top one would. I thought that was what I was getting when I bought this but nope. Also NOW they have them with TWO lids & sorry to say didn't see them until I had purchased these.
