Debra was the only one who actually looked happy. Robert needed to disown everyone else. And the clapback about the book sucking was good. Ray needed to hear that.
Ray knew that Robert told the family he made lieutenant when Ray's book didn't get published just to make him feel even more bad about himself. But Debra didn't realize that.
Ray could hav been happy for his brother. Debra is rite, he's such a baby 😂
Cuz Robert has totally never downplayed any of Ray's accomplishments lmaoo

What makes is part even more interesting is there is a deleted scene where Ray goes over to Marie and Franks to brag about how he is writing a sports book while Robert is digging through the trash to find his study guide for his promotion. Marie and Frank praise Ray for his book and even Robert wishes the best for him. Reverse the situation, Ray refuses to be happy for Robert just because he’s not getting his way.
Of course Ray throws a hissy fit.
I will admit though that Ray's comeback to being called a baby at 4:24 was a good one.
I'm gonna go ahead and make a compilation of all the times Robert has made a snide remark anytime something positive happened for Ray - will be at least 50min long LOL
@trevorsanso32 But honestly, those are pretty justified. Ray was always the favorite, while Robert was always treated as a mistake, because as we found out in season 2, he kinda was.
But with Ray, it's not really justified. Ray's always looked down on his "loser" brother (not literally, of course), and in this scene, he can't stand seeing someone he's always believed to be beneath him succeeding when he's not.

When I graduated from beauty school to become a hairstylist I came home to tell my family and my sister was all wrapped up in her own thing and my parents were focused on her. No one Acknowledged me and my family didn’t even congratulate me

Same thing happened to my father years ago. I remember when I was a child him talking about he went and told his parents he had became a journeyman painter and they didn’t care.

1:05 says all about Ray's character. He always wants the attention and glory and wants Robert to stay miserable. As much as I like this series Ray can be very annoying at times.
He always needs the attention from his Mummy.
Only wants Sex from Debra
Wants Debra to take care of the kids, while he watches sports or goes to play golf.
Wants his mum to feed him and take care of him.
Plus it's sad whenever Debra wants to do something new like travel, go to the theatre, try new restaurants etc, Ray goes straight to his parents to either complain or get their opinion.
He even acts weird around her family.
Agreed With Everything U Said About Ray and Like U Said He Only Want Passionate Love With Debra But She Turn It Down at Times Which is Good and Ray is The Worse Main Character on a Sitcom Show Plus I Would Never Repeat The Same Love Nonsense With My Girlfriend Over and Over Again Since She and I Would Do That Stuff ONLY If We Feel Like It!
I think a 45 year old man focusing nightly on whether he'll get sex is weird. It makes feel icky.

It was so typical of ray to throw a hissy fit. ray has had accomplishments and success in the past… problem was his parents putting a spotlight on him and his success making him feel more entitled.
the second robert gets some success in anything, ray disregards it because it isn’t about him. he could’ve at least celebrated his brother or tell him he was proud of him.

I'm glad I have very supportive siblings even being a middle child. In my case, it's more my parents not making me feel special at times back then. My older brother and younger sister would go out of their ways to make me feel better though.
I wished you added the line where Marie asked in the beginning if there was spelling errors lol I always thought that line was funny and out of nowhere lol

Ray always is the center of attention, & Robert never gets any attention. The reason Robert is the way he is because of Marie.
Whats weird about the scene is that Ray said "did you see him yesterday" so that means he was moping yesterday and all day today. And now they're finally talking about it?

Think this scene is taken out of context. I’m sure Ray as a character is happy for his brother, but he received devastating news on something that was important to him. It’s like someone announcing to their family they’re getting divorced and the other sibling announces they are engaged.

I have literally never been able to like Ray. I guess they intend it that way. But my gosh who is the Raymond character based on? Raymond definitely ruins many episodes. But then there are times he's hilarious but he's never ever smart on this show. The time he told his mom that he told Debra he was dreaming about chu chu chulesky was because "he likes to upset her". It was true and funny because Debra is such a snot to him.

When i was in the 6th grade i was ahead of everyone by 3 months the teacher wanted to promote me 3 years ahead but state wouldnt let him. He taught us pre algebra in 6th grade. I developed a formula where u could answer any question in 7 seconds n your head. He said to mom i couldnt use it in hi school n thats all she could remember no atta boy. Dsd was a piece of furniture he didnt even know. The teacher was a bomber pilot in 2nd world war and he gave me an aeriel surveying bombing quadrant to solve. I went as far as i could and he said i went farther than any math teacher in state of md. Unless they were taught navigation on how to deliver a bomb load. Mom walked half mile to try to hold me back a year then she and my 2 brothers told my yth grade class i was a queer. Never have been gay. It broke my spirit no self esteem n i quit trying. Been a loser n hated ever since
