Katherine my dear, I thought I was the freezer queen, I freeze everything. But I've never in all my years knew to or even thought about freezing eggs! I love having a freezer full of stuff I might need, because I detest grocery shopping. Great video as always! Great camera work, Charlie! :)
I've been using the grocery bags to store things in the deep freeze for years - I use a green bag for veggies, red for beef, and so on. Great video!
Great video! I'm watching this early at 6 am... I jumped out of bed and reorganized the freezer. I already had all the bins. Love it! 👍
Great tips. I store in those kind of bags in the deep freeze as well, except I use colored ones to go with the items, say red for meat, yellow for butter and dairy products, green for veggies. Also if you'll store your flour in the freezer for a week or so then store it in your pantry it will keep A-LOT longer, a few bay leaves in the container helps too. In the fridge freezer (up right) I use clear shoe boxes to organize in easier to see at a glance where things are. When the freezer is super full, we plan all meals from there till we've used what needs to be eaten and free up space for those sales.
I love the idea of having reusable bags to organize inside of your deep freezer. This is great especially for chest deep freezers. Thanks for sharing. I love your videos!
I love your videos Kathryn- even your old ones! I'm a new RUclipsr and I always love seeing the time it takes for people to grow. Thanks so much for what you do!
I like how you used the baskets to divide your freezer. I keep certain things on certain shelves, but the baskets would be even better. I did a video last month on all the things I freeze. I've never frozen eggs, but we freeze a lot of things :).
THANKYOU for this old Freezer organization video!!! very helpful and I love love love the blues music 🎶🎶🎶
I love watching your videos! Your methods bring peace and relaxation to me!
The shopping bag in the chest freezer is such a great tip! I'm glad I watched this video before I went out and bought containers!
You're amazing. I am feeling so disorganized and all over the place. This has helped me so much. You rock!
so school will start very soon i feel the pressure on how to plan my day from cooking and cleaning and home work helper and else and clean organized home is a must-have. Thanks for the tips, love you
P. S. LOVE your channel! I've been a homemaker for 45 years and have learned so much from you!
The dollar tree has tiny plastic food storage squares in about inch size with tiny lids. I think they come in a six or eight pack. I chop up cilantro, basil, tomato paste, celery, peppers, onion, garlic cloves, sour cream, or a smidge of leftover tomato sauce, etc. in them. I freeze them and take them out as needed to perk up recipes. It's amazing how much punch a "little something" can add to a basic recipe. Also, I've got nearly a no waste kitchen this way.
This is what I did my homemade baby food in. Those Dollar Tree containers that come 10 to a pack, square/rectangle with the white lid? LOVE them for baby food. Fill, slap on a trimmed-to-fit sticky label (dollar tree too!) and it's ready to freeze!

I don't wanna sound too crazy, but I am so glad I found you! Your guidance in organizing is just what I needed after moving, and just progressing through wifelihood/motherhood :D
I have this exact freezer. Everything falls to the bottom and no one wants to dig around for it so I was wasting a lot of food. I reorganized with the bags and it's working beautifully!!! Thanks for the tip.
This is the 4th (out of 4) videos I've seen to organize a freezer and I have to say you have many great ideas. The other 3 videos were almost the same as each other and very impractical (eg. filled the chest freezer with bins and nothing as big as a pizza box or ribs would fit into any space.). I also like that you included a chart for reference of types of food that can be frozen and for how long. I have a 15 cu ft. freezer and I keep moving things here and there until they fit. Needless to say, I do get some stuff that gets overlooked and has to be thrown out in time. Hopefully your tips and tricks will change that. Many thanks for sharing your video!
Such a great idea! I organized our freezer this morning and I already had extra bags on hand so it cost me nothing!
Love how organized your freezer is! Very cool
This video is right on time. I was looking at my freezers last night and trying to come up with some organizational ideas because stuff is everywhere. Thanks for sharing.
Kathryn, you continue to be an inspiration. Thanks for your tips.
Thank you so much for all your great videos! I always enjoy all your videos. And a big thanks on how to organize your fridge. That's what I was having trouble with. Now thanks to you my fridge is perfect. I'm no longer afraid of going in there lol....
I just bought some small Crates from Hollar for my frig & freezer & use for organization since I’ve been watching your videos I’ve been inspired thanks!
Love your freezer organizing tips........I use freezer bags all the time for my freezer, but I found that the ones that your have to seal by pressing is so annoying, because I am constantly opening and closing them. So I bought the freezer bags with the little plastic zipper at the top, they slide in a snap, I'm in heaven. I love them so much that I resuse them, they wash great, I just let them drip dry in my dish drain board.
Awesome idea's..I love that your so bubbly and excited about what you do! I definitely subscribed!
Girl, you're amazing! Love all of your tips and constantly try to apply them into my daily routine. Thank you for sharing your ideas! :)
Putting like items in those bags was a great idea. We just had to clean out our whole upright freezer in the garage because the drain hole got plug and everything was defrosting. Cleaned it out and now we're going to try your method. Thank you so much
love the bags idea! it is so difficukt to find a big bin that fits in and a bag is easier to pull out...
I had never thought about using re-usable shopping bags to organize in the freezer! Enjoyed the video; will be trying out some of the tips I wasn't aware of!
I also use reusable bags for my deep freezer and encourage everyone to do so! I saw the tip on a video from a long time ago...thought it was yours actually...did you do another video like this a couple years ago?? Anywho..It has made my life so much easier. I have even color coordinated mine - Red bag: red meats; Blue bag: poultry; Green bag: veggies; Yellow bag: potato products.
You organized really nice. Very helpful. I love your make organizing video. It made my life easy. Thanks and keep posting more.
Love, this idea, I was just telling my hudband that I was tired of tossing foods that go bad. I dislike wasting food and money. I will put these idead to use, for sure.
great idea's about the bags and boxes!! looks awesome!
AMAZING!, your are wonderful, i just suscribed and i found tons or things to do that i never think about it. Thank you so much
THANKS FOR IDEA, never thought of using the cloth bags, always digging for something. Cleaning out freezer now, the dogs love it (I cook the meats for them) I remove items from some boxes too. Thanks for another great video.
I love all you tips on freezing and cleaning and storing. I freeze buttermilk for making crumb cake. It is hard to find buttermilk in smaller containers and I usually have to buy it by the quart. So I freeze it in the amounts I need for my cake and get it out when I need it and let it thaw up. I've always frozen bread and bananas to use in banana bread. With a family of 8 I needed to freeze a lot because I bough in bulk as much as I could. I have frozen milk, but it takes to long for the "water" to thaw up in milk and you get the cream instead, plus when thawed all the way you need to really shake it back together. So that was a dud to do, especially when you go through a gallon of milk a day. Well not now we done. lol But when our boys were living at home we did. Love your chart too, so helpful. Thanks for doing this for us!
Have you tried the smaller stackable recycle bins with handles for your deep freeze? I understand if your happy with this system, because if I would have found this system first I would have gone with the reusable bag method as well. But mull this idea over...it might be a good fit?
I had no idea that I could freeze eggs! Love, love the list. Thank you do much for sharing.
I always freeze organic tomatoes when they are in season.. and use them in soups and stews through out the year ♡ .. toast bread as well .. and flat bread and they taste like a just bought bag.... thanks loved the list.. keep up the good work..
i LOVE the freezer of your fridge. Seriously jelly LOL
I like to cut up onions and bell peppers mostly since they freeze well, and i usually bag them so that a half a diced onion per bag can be used in a recipe that calls for only half .... and then i dice up a bell pepper and then put them each in a bag. this is handy if for some reason i forgot to get onions or peppers or just decide on a whim that i want to make something that calls for those items. quite handy & has been useful quite a few times. I also freeze washed and frozen berries - raspberries & strawberries & blackberries. Much easier if you wash them, and line them all well spaced on a cookie sheet, stick 'em in the freezer for at least an hour, then dump them all into a freezer ziploc. SO useful and when you've found berries on sale at the store, so much more for your $$ than the already frozen berries in a bag.
I freeze berries and chopped veggies on a cookie sheet, then bag. If you spread them in a single (more or less) layer, they do not stick together. Quickly transfer into bags because if they begin to thaw, they may stick together. It doesn't hurt veggies and fruit to freeze uncovered on the cookie sheets as long as you bag within 12 hours or so. Also, frost free freezers are the worst when it comes to freezer burn. A frost free freezer actually cycles through a defrost cycle all day long, which is what causes freezer burn in those freezers. I always try to put meat and other things that tend to get freezer burn in my chest freezer.
Great idea about recycled bags! I didn't know that you can put them in the freezer. That's awesome!
Brilliant to use vacuum for fridge freezer drawers. We keep a zip bag at the front of the freezer for bits of leftovers suitable for soup. All winter I add these bits to enhance dry packaged soup mix or make home made soup using all these small amounts of diced vegetables and meat. So simple to throw all into a crockpot with water, bouillon or broth from cooking down bones, thrifty, delicious and satisfying when it's cold out.
I like the bag idea! !! Thanks for sharing that.
Me too.
What size is your deep freezer (not the fridge one) because we are looking for a smaller one than we have had for many many years?
I like to freeze balls of cookie dough so we can make a few cookies whenever we get the craving rather than having a whole batch we feel like we have to eat through! :)
I have never had an occasion when I didn't want to eat an entire batch of cookies. ;)
Oh girl, I always WANT to. But what I OUGHT to do is a different story haha.
i like doing that too
YOUR WILLPOWER!!! Please bottle it and send it to me ;)
Mmmmmm m m sound SOSOSOS good xoxoxoxoox
This video came at the perfect time! I desperately need to clean out my freezers and reorganize them.
While watching this video I thought out loud and said, "God, these women are geniuses (cuz I have been watching a couple different women on RUclips lately), I love them!!" And my husband looked at me like I was crazy...hahaha! But I can't help it cuz I am sooo excited watching your videos, I have been getting such great ideas from you! Thanks so much for sharing!
Wonderful tips. Your zest for live is so uplifting! :)
Love your deep freezer ideas and the using a vacuum to clean your fringe ,as always such great ideas :)
LOVE the grocery bags idea (I have so many!) I'm using my DT storage bins in my chest freezer, but I feel I'm losing some space because they are so rigid. I'm transferring everything tomorrow to the reusable bags!
OMG! I re-organized my freezers (the chest freezer and the one in my refrigerator) - I had just cleaned them both out last month. I utilized the re-usable grocery bags as you have shown and I am BLOWN AWAY! My Target plastic bins actually took up too much room and add to my space problems. But now I have even more space in both freezers!!!
Thank you again for this amazing tip!
Dana Lynne
Wohoo! Yay :)
DoItOnaDime any chance you are able to send a link or model/brand of your fridge? we have such a small one and we love yours
I love your idea of the reusable bags to organize the freezer! In fact I ran out specifically to find the largest ones I could find because my husband has this obsession of buying meat that is marked 2 for 1... I can't seem to convince him that we have ENOUGH ALREADY so having the largest bags I could find at the least expensive price was my mission. I found these VERY large (seems to be almost 2x the size I found in the grocery stores at DOLLAR TREE! Now that I have purchased 7 bags (all that location had lol) I am off to ORGANIZE THE FREEZER! Thank you Kathryn for your great ideas!
Wish I knew how to post pictures here! I finished BOTH freezers and I am completely elated over the outcome! It may have even worked better than I hoped because now the husband KNOWS exactly how much MEAT we have and was completely SHOCKED at the amount. HOPEFULLY he will abstain from buying more for awhile... THAT in itself is a MONEY SAVER!
Hi, do you normally keep food in the refrigerator freezer that you plan to eat before the deep freezer? Just curious! We had a tall freezer but we donated it because it sat 2/3 empty most of the time so our next freezer will be a chest freezer. Do you have a favorite brand? What brand is your chest freezer? Thanks
Great ideas! We have a top freezer, and don't have a chest freezer, however I still was able to glean some good tips. I like the idea of a basket for the ice packs. Mine keep falling over, and I never thought to put them in a basket!
Love these videos! I thought it was a great idea that you put things in bags in your deep freezer to make it quicker to find things. Smart Idea=) one thing I do to help me quicker in the freezer is I take a Sharpie pen and I write the expiration date write on the item in big/bold writing. It just saves so much time when I grab something and have to find that lol tiny tiny "somewhere" on the item expiration date. Great video!!
OMG!!! I just got a free freezer like the one you first showed and I cant reach the bottom because im really short (4'7" to be exact) and I use a stool but I love the bag idea that will make my life so much more easier! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
great idea on the vacuum :) would never of thought of it!
Loved your video! wondering what the song was at the end of it. Was it David Bromberg?
How do you clean the freezer if you cant shut it off? When i wipe it with a wet wiper or rag it freezes. I love the vacuum idea and will try that!
love the shopping bag system in the deep freezer!
I'm using the bags ASAP! great idea
I see the Dove individual ice creams. Those are my favorites! Good system will definitely try.
Great! Thank you for the tips!!! In a few hours the deep freezers getting the makeover👍
Great tips! Youre videos are very helpful and fun to watch. :)
I just saw your video on your freezer. GREAT idea!! to use different bags for meats. we have 3 upright freezers & they are as mess!! ga can't find anything. I'm going to organize them .
Love the bag idea in the deep freezer
What a neat idea to use your vacuum cleaner to clean the fridge. Definitely have to put that one on my bright ideas to try list :). I also take my Eggo waffles out of the bag :).
Great video! Thanks for the free freezer guide, you're so sweet!!
O btw, in my experience freezing eggs makes their shells crack, I'm guessing your process eliminates that?? thanks!!
I like to freeze brown rice. So when I need some I don't have to wait for it to cook forever before eating. Love your videos Kathryn! You are sooooo Awesome! I always learn something from every single video! Xoxoxo
I do this too! 😀
Hello Kathryn! As always, great video!! Will you please do an updated chest freezer organization video?
I've frozen bread/hot dog/hamburger rolls. It keeps them fresh and just a quick trip to the microwave to warm them up! Also, grapes taste great when cold, especially in the summer!
love your ideas!
Love your system!
Thanks for this video! Lovely as always! I am quite proud of my freezer storage and organization. I recently revamped it and I'm in love. But I'm CRAZY jealous of your space lol I have a side by side fridge/freezer so our main freezer is much smaller than yours. We do have a chest freezer that was given to us new so I can't complain about it's size :-p But it's a bit smaller than yours. I use the reusable shopping bags too!! Thanks again for the eye candy :-) I LOVE organized spaces!
Wow, you are really organized.
this is wonderful I'll be doing this next. great ideas
I don't have a deep freezer...now I want one...hahaha! Great tips as always :)
Love the grocery bag idea!
How do you freeze the eggs? Do you scramble them first
Fantastic idea on the way you bag each type of meat!😀
can u tell me which brand of freezer you have...becoz i want to buy freezer...plz help me if u can....thanks
WOW. Thank you. Simple is best.
Thanks for this =) I was waiting for this printable =D Thanks
we are a family of 7, i freeze eveything, i bake and freeze in seperate freezer bags, i also grate 3 kg of cheese and freeze
Awesome ideas. Thx for sharing. Ill print the freeze sheet you offered. Shirlene
Using those bags is pure genius!!
Kathryn I know this is an old video but can you tell us how big your deep freezer is? I am thinking about getting one ( boy they are pricey) But I am not sure about the size, yours seams to be just about right.
Thanks for the Money Saving Tips! I have a question though....Can you please tell me where you purchased the photo line with the flowers behind you? It is adorable!!! Thank you
I just got a deep freezer. I really wanted an upright freezer. But my main fridge broke last night. Good thing we have a smaller fridge to fall back on but we needed a back freezer. So due to emergency bought what ever was in stock a la cheap. Now I'm like help to organize. :). I remembered you did s video
I could have sworn I've seen you post a laminated freezer inventory sheet at some point but I can't seem to find it!
I liked that you gave some suggestions on your freezer guide on how to use the food after it has been frozen. For example you cannot eat bananas after they are frozen like a fresh banana because it becomes watery. We learned this the hard way lol. They are great for smoothies like you mentioned or making banana bread. Maybe in the future you could update the sheet and give more of a description on foods you did not give one for. For example for frozen bread, the texture or taste change when frozen? Something along those lines. I know it would be a great help for me or others who have not frozen certain foods. I did research in the past and froze a few things that I read could be frozen, it was a big mistake and I ended up throwing away the food. Thank you for making the freezer guide available to everyone.
JulV Wildcat Thanks for the suggestion! :) In my experience, frozen bread is THE BEST because there is virtually no change in it. Thin/fragile breads (like hot dogs) can be a bit more crumbly (especially the longer they have been frozen for), but that is easily remedied by toasting them. Sandwich bread freezes like a dream. I'm sure this document will be one that is in flux, especially hearing from you all...you guys inspire me with ideas all the time. All the best
If you take the liquid from the frozen banana's and cook it till it is reduced to syrup and add it to your banana bread batter, it's concentrated and gives the most awesome flavor to the bread.
Sharon La Tour Thanks Sharon. I never knew that. I will have to try that some time. Thanks for the tip
you are welcome! Be careful and don't scorch it, just reduce until syrupy
I have a small freezer above my frig w one shelf. Use plastic bins. Works great & pull out like a drawer. No more digging around
Hello from 2020 hellscape. Using bags to organize by category is genius.
I have a standing freezer that I inherited but it's really messy. I may use some of your fridge ideas in there too.
Great video!
Humble beginnings ❤
What is the vaccum cleaner u r using?
I freeze grapes and watermelon. I find that it's like a super yummy and healthy taste to the sugary popsicles. And they're yummy when they thaw out in a lunch bag or the like.
hi do you do frezzer bag meals for crockpots
I like to freeze my herbs. I chopped them up and place them in ice cube trays with a little water and freeze. I then pop them out and put in a zip bag in the freezer. I also freeze tomato paste in ice cube trays.
This is an excellent idea. Especially the tomato paste that I sometimes waste because I didn't realize I could freeze it. Thanks for mentioning this.
we do this too!
Nice! I need to do this with the parsley in our garden :)
I use to do this with baby food. Pop out and toss in a bag then I only pulled out what we needed. I do the same with my mints and melon balls in the summer for drink ice cubes, Kids always get a kick out of it.
