Completely agree on piston stops. They'll destroy the piston. I use locking plier if I'm unbolting the flywheel nut. Of course I clamped the flywheel with locking plier or a small pipe wrench.
My local hobby guy is funny. I tell him I like the tuning and the skill it takes to keep one running tip top shape. He says, " while I value your opinion... your opinion is wrong. Just buy electric it's easier. "
This fixed my issue, thank you! But the next issue I got now is that - whenever I go full throttle, the engine just bogs down and shuts off. What's wrong it it? Oh, and it's a Kyosho USA-1.
A bog and shut down at full speed indoctrination is high speed to lean! Engine is starving for fuel open your high speed ⅛ turn out counterclockwise or until it stops doing it.. a good idea is to now replace the glow plug with what is required by the manufacturer. As it is very important! If a Engine has been run lean to much if will shorten the glow plug life as well as make for poor tuning and performance as when they have a over lean condition it burns them out
Im trying to start my old ass Cen racing car with little to no success. If I close the exhaust pipe and pull the starter, the fuel reaches the carb. Im using new fuel and glow plug. Im trying without the air filter on to see the throttle position. So after priming the engine a bit Im trying to start and its looking like it would start, so revs for a second and dies almost instantly. When pulling the starter, fuel squirts out of air intake hole of the carb but if I remove the plug then I can see NO fuel squirting up from the engine. I already cleaned the high and low speed needles so it should let the fuel through. I can lift up the car by the starter and there is no visible wear on the sleeve, good compression. Do you have any idea based on this description? The ingniter has fresh batteri ofc Thanks!
Hey man it's kinda hard to diagnose something like that over a text message if you are on Facebook I am an Admin in the nitro rc enthusiasts group if you can post up a video and there we can definitely point you when the right direction and get it running again for you it shouldn't be too hard I think you're almost right on the money.
Just followed this guide. Sealed up my exhaust leaks and now have my hyper 30 idleing sweet. Was weird as for idle I would have thought the low speed needle was the one to adjust?? Now that i have it idleing and running its still a bit rich down low. Is this when i fine tune the low speed needle? Do you have a full video on tuning a motor from full out of tune state?
Hey I'm glad my video helped you out and when you go to accelerate away and the engine wants to fall on its face and stall out for it does that means the low speed needless to rich so you can always lean it out a tiny little bit until it stopped doing that and then adjust your idol and as far as tuning videos I don't really have any because the fuel I run is so much different beings 0% that it doesn't really help anybody
You could check out one of these 2 groups year I'm in both of them and post a Video of what's going on and it be easier that way to get a little bit of help to get you dialed in it's very difficult to see or understand what's going on over text sometimes
Thanks for your quick reply! Yeah it idles fine now but when you throttle on it smokes quite a bit and then takes about 2-3seconds of slow accelerating and the takes off quick. I will join up those groups and get a video today. Cheers 👌👌
I have a question about my hpi nitro mt1 I just got she doesn’t push fuel and when I press the prime button nothing really happens I stick my finger over it and I don’t see fuel moving at all I blowed In it, it was kinda hard to blow air in it but I did see some fuel move and then when I tried to start it gas was coming out the exhaust pipe and I have absolutely no idea how to tune it it’s not needles like what I’m used two it’s a twist one if you have Instagram or something I can show you exactly what my issues are
Sorry for the late reply but what I would do is remove the primer plunger and then seal the tank with apoxy as well as clean If you're exhaust and fuel system now it's kind of hard to tell exactly what the issue is being I can't see it also sorry for the late reply my RUclips has been acting really stupid If you have any sort of fuel or exhaust system leaks you will always have issues with priming
Would u recommend getting a engine modded? I have a Dynamite Mach 2 .19t brand new I jsut got a few Weeks ago (not even attempted to start it cuz I'm debating what I'll do to it) and heard it benefits from ceramic bearing upgrade which is also on the list and do a heated oil bath break in at a shop (heard its the best way keeping engine bathed in oil during break in as engine isn't really running just being spun Over in heated oil in a specific manner similar to actual running).. as the shop I'll have do it is RcRenew based in the States like me, since atm sadly I seen ERCM isn't accepting engines for modding (I would if he would as he is amazing I heard in reviews for engine mods).. still excitedly awaiting my ERCM small block pipe and it'll be used on that engine as well as on my 3.3.. only other thing awaiting is my OS 11K slide carb (not cheap at all but a very solid choice for a trx 3.3 upgrade to make it tune better, hold a tune, as well as have improved bottom end and mid range power.. keep releasing content bud! And I think everyone would LOVE hearing differences between a side bleed and end bleed pipe from ERCM (INCLUDIING ME!) Keep burning nitro! 😃

i bought a used Ofna lx with k4.6 engine. however, it cant even run on grass at the park it got stuck, like has no power to push thru grass. it runs on pave street just fine. i don't know whats wrong with it lacked power.

I do have a question for anyone who will answer. Does the higher oil content in basher fuel cause higher engine Temps. My 3.3 tmaxx runs high 280s with a very good stream of blue smoke. I don't really tune to temp, but I do get curious sometimes and check.
So I got something to mention I can be called stupid or idiot for this doesn’t really matter it won’t hurt my feelings but the one thing that I do when I start my engine first of all I think we all know that two-stroke engines usually require to open up the throttle when you start them up so I do the same thing with my RC car engine by turning the Throttle trim all the way up but here’s the thing I do I see nobody else doing as long as the glow igniter is igniting the fuel you basically cannot flood the engine while holding your finger over the pipe so when I start the engine up I put my thumb on the pipe and I crank it over with the easy start or roto start with a glow plug igniter in till it kick and spit that when I remove my thumb while still cracking it over and it fires right up and rev up it a little bit until it’ll stay running and then as the Engine starts warming up I start backing off the trim until eventually I neutral it out and runs at low idle. So I just want to know what your thought is about this
@@thebug4046 I did the same thing back in the day until I stumbled across a few times when I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t let my thumb off as I was cranking over that it was not flooding out with the glow plug being lit and once I realize that and how easy it was to start that way I continue to do it that way from there on out as long as I have the throttle opened up through the throttle trim but never tried it on a pull start as only the first two nitros of ever owned were a pull start the rest were rotary which I’m spoiled to. 👍🏻

My Trx 3.3 has compression, plug glows bright, good gaskets, in good shape I tore it down and cleaned it. Will only start if I apply throttle and turns off if I let off or apply more throttle. Also it won’t run without the ignitor. I feel like I’ve tried everything !
New os lc3 glow plug. If it won't run without the igniter the plug is toast. They will still glow but not be able to hold a catalytic reaction with the fuel anymore. And are you on Facebook?
Make sure you have no fuel or exhaust system leaks if you do It will not have Enough exhaust pressure to make fuel pressure won't prime and will be very difficult to start.

If you're getting fuel air the engine has good compression and your glow ignitor is working properly there should be no reason why it won't start unless something is catastrophically wrong or the engines completely worn out.
Yeah that's one reason and the other thing is if you ever wonder why the inside of your engines are always rusted really bad that's another reason the fuel absorbs moisture and sits in the bottom of your engine gets very corrosive and damaging

Should that exhuast fuel line nipple always be on top I noticed all nitro rc are mine is on the bottom of my rustler should I get a different pipe?
Might be the wrong pipe or something like that it should be usually on the side or top

Ditch the basher fuel and run with a 20/9 or 30/9 race blend. Basher fuel has to much oil and rund hotter

I Prime till I get fuel to the carb give it a little throttle and fire it up

Sometimes it struggles to prime when I cover the exhaust and pull the starter. I’m leaning towards an exhaust pressure issue but I don’t know

Sucks I use vp fuel for the first time. The color is clear so I can't really see fuel going through the fuel line 😕
