A year ago I would have thought that this was crazy. I have been in a 30-year Gap relationship for 7 months and we are having a blast she is 24 and I'm 54 and I don't even look at her any differently than I would someone my own age. A lot of similarities between my mom and dad. My mom never got to know my Dad’s side of the family. And by the time I was born my dad was already in his early 60s. I was the youngest. I am also a former law enforcement officer however still in the law business just chasing and catching car thieves and armed robbers for a living.

Marlene Cronkite Oof that’s rude but that’s also been my normal. I grew up with people calling my dad my grandpa ( he was in his late 50’s when I was born, my mum was in her 30’s). Some times I’d even get “great grandpa”. The looks of horror that came over people when I’d call my dad, dad were so strange to me. I still don’t understand why there’s such a taboo on age gap relationships. I’ve loved having an older dad- he’s a treasure trove of information and hearing about his life before mum & I has always been super cool to me.

I think it’s highly likely she will realize this sooner or later and hold a lot of resentment, esp when he gets even older. A couple should be in the same stages of life and experience growing together. That is the ideal.
Moreover, sometimes there’s an element of grooming/taking advantage when one person in the relationship is in a potential position of “power” (status, age, wealth, etc) over the other person. Nicole: I think these people are very unhappy with their own lives and try to find a way to let it all out. As Larry said, how can you watch a video just to give a negative comment in the end? Some people just love to complain and spread negativity, but in the end, it's all about the stuff they have going on inside themselves. Well, that's my explanation.
Anaisa Erksen it’s actually ok to give constructive criticism and express your opinions respectfully. If it gets very negative than it’s unacceptable!! So we are not jealous or miserable with our lives. I’m young and in a relationship with a man who’s only 4 years older than me. Same generation, planning on having a BABY, etc. But good luck having children with a man close to 60. He’s near retirement, the age gap is just to big. It’s not the ideal situation but I wish them all the best.

I totally understand your whole view about having your own children vs adoption. I was adopted myself. When my husband and I realized it would be difficult for us to get pregnant, we both wanted to go into fertility and have our own before taking the decision to adopt. We knew that if fertility didn’t work, we we would adopt, but we wanted to give treatments a chance first. There is nothing wrong with either option. To each their own. Wish you guys all the best with whichever decision you take 🙂
That's what you called true love, I think she also fell for him because of that man's maturity and personality. Same as mine, I also fell in love with the man who is 45 and I'm 18. I feel inlove with who He is on the inside. We both fall inlove with each other and we became together. Hi Mindy!! I saw you on Dr. Phil today with my husband and he suggested I reach out to you (I agreed I should too 😃). I should preface this by saying I am 35 now but my husband and I got together when I was 26 and he was 50! We are now 35 and 59 and have been together for 8 years and married almost 5! This is so relatable and i think people think that we can’t relate but when we don’t, we can teach each other things. We have laughed until we have cried when I’m teaching him something “new” or “pop culture-ish” and vice versa. I think age differences create interesting conversations. My husband & I are both entertainers for a living and my husband loves RUclips and I started a channel recently so your story resonates with me on so many levels. My husband was also adopted! It was a few months before my grandfather's death, and he had a mild form of dementia if that makes sense. He hardly ever remembered thigns, there were times were he wouldn't remember me, or her, or his own children. But on that day, her birthday, he got up, went to the garden, cut some red and pink roses and gave them to my grandmother and told her "These are for you. Happy birthday, Irene"
