    Thanks for your tutorials. I am a customer and I bought 5 inks(OCTOPUS 250ml) for my Pixma ts8050 a week ago and my printer now is broken. Today I bought a new one: pixma ts 8250. I have a question : can I use my inks for my new printer ? My inks are CLI 571 and pgi 570. New printer has CLI 581.
    The grey has changed in new model and become PB .
    Thanks a million

      Hello me rah, thanks for Your question. We are sorry to read Your printer broke down. The PGI570 and CLI571 inks will do no damage to Your new printer. But the new printer has a new color management system - Your new machine will print with these inks but the apperance of the print will be not color balanced.
      If you do not like the results - send back the inks - we will reimburse You. And then You can buy the correct ones.

    Hello , Should this method also work on the OEM cartridges used on the Canon TS9120 Wireless All-In-One Printer with Scanner and Copier?

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад +1

      Hello George, thanks for Your question. According to our information the TS9120 uses the PGI580 and CLI581 too - so this method can be applied with Your printer. For this method it is compulsory to work with OEM cartridges as only the OEM chip allows You to keep printing with that cartridge after the chip has sent the message EMPTY.

    Excellent and useful video but i have a question, does the cartridge need to rest a bit after the refilling, just to let the ink penetrates the sponge? Or maybe it isn't necessary ?

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  5 лет назад +4

      Thanks for Your positive feedback. Actually You can set back the cartridge into Your printer right after driiping ink on the sponge - the time necessary to refill the cartridge that way is given by the speed the sponge can take in the ink. So You can say that the resting takes place while You drip ink on the sponge.

    Do you have to wait until the printer says it's out of ink before you try to bypass the warnings? I have a TS705a and I refilled my cartridges when they had the "x" warning but the only dialogue the printer displayed was that it recognised a genuine used Canon ink cartridge which only asked you to press 'Ok'. Holding down the stop button for any length of time didn't remove the low-ink warnings. The printer did start making noises some time after 10-seconds, so hopefully it will keep printing but the warnings are still shown like C @ 5:36 not like Y.

    • @octopusoffice

      Thanks for contacting us about the pgi580 cli581 refill tutorial. To receive the option to deactivate the ink level detection the cartridge must have the ink depleted status. Then the printer should offer the opportunity to switch of ink level detection. Refilling before the ink is depleted is actually no problem - You going to receive that status anyway as the printer calculates the ink inside the cartridge based on the information on the chip and does not measure the physical ink.

When the sponge dries out it cannot hold the ink properly anymore and when the chips damaged the cartridge will not be recognized by the printer anymore. These are the main reasons for such a cartridge for beeing waste...

    Hi there, I would be grateful if you could let me know where I can find information regarding a photo print quality comparison between original canon ink and your refill ink. Does your ink print identical to canon's or does it have a different colour profile? Will I be able to tell the difference between them on my photos? Thanks for your time.

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  5 лет назад +3

      Hello Danny, thank You very much for Your on the point question. The original Canon inks focus on an Asian color harmony - that´s why the original inks produce prints with an reddish appearance. Our ink set is balances more to a western color harmony - the prints have a cooler finish when using the standard color profile. We do not offer a special ICC profile for our inks. The reason is that our customers doing their own adjustments to the profiles as the used paper has a high impact on the final result. We are not able to provide a profile for every used paper type.

    Hi, ahm i wanna ask when you going to refill your cartridge, when it is empty or not??

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад

      Hello Kevin, basically You are free to refill the cartridge at any time convenient for You independent from its´ ink level status. You can extend the life of the ink storing sponge by keeping it filled with ink most of the time. This prevents the sponge material from drying out - a dry sponge cannot hold the printer ink properly anymore.

      Hello, thanks for Your question. When refilling the cartridges the ink level bars will not come back. You need to deactivate the printer´s ink level detection then You can print with refilled cartridges. When the detection has been deactivated successfully the ink bars are grayed out and You not see any X anymore. BUT You need to pay attention to the print outs. When a color starts fading out You should top up ink in the cartridges as soon as possible.

      Yes, you can apply this method also on Your printer´s cartridges. The Canon Pixma IX6850 is working with PGI550 and CLI551 cartridges. • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for Your question. We recommend to refill small quanities of refill ink regularely. As You do not have a displayed ink level bar anymore and the printer does not give warning messages for the refilled cartridge - You never know how much ink is left inside.. Filling up small amounts provides the security to have sufficient ink when starting a print joba nd also extends the life span of the inner sponge. Actually the sponge is one weak spot of these cartridges. If it dries out it cannot hold the ink inside the cartridge properly. So keeping the sponge moistered is keeping the sponge alive for a longer time.

      Hello and thanks for Your question. We recommend to use inks as they are designed in the original Canon cartridges. Here that means black pigmented ink for PGI580 and black dye based ink in CLI581black. The PGI580 is used for printing texts - to get sharp and clear letters You need to have pigmented ink. CLI581black is involved when printing pictures and grafics - there the dye based inks come up with a better mixture for color shading.

As long as you keep the sponge away from drying out You can keep on refilling the same cartridge as often as you want. Thanks for Your reply. Despite the buttons on the printer are different the display should give You guidance how to keep on printing with that cartridge. If it is not on the display there are also messages on the computer´s screen - usually there also appears which steps to go on printing with that cartridge.

      Hello Samar, thank You very much for providing the cartridge model number. Yes, You can apply the refill procedure from this video to Your cartridges too. The PGI725 and CLI726 can also be refilled by dripping ink on their sponges.

    Does ink from sponge goes to ink chamber????

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  3 года назад

      Thanks for the question. No, by using this way of getting ink into the cartridge the rear ink chamber is not filled up with new ink. Please be aware that only the XL cartridges have a connection from the rear ink tank to the sponge filled chamber above the ink outlet.

    • @07SATS

      Hello Ahmed, thanks for Your comment and explanantion. Did You refill original Canon cartridges or alternative cartridges? The refilling as the tutorial shows only works for original Canon cartridges with original Canon ink chips.

    • @Ahmedpakido
      @Ahmedpakido Год назад

      @@octopusoffice yes they are original cartridges

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  Год назад

      Hello Ahmed, thanks for the confirmation. So the printer gives the message that the cartridges are defective? Actually with the original chips You should be able to go on printing after filling new ink into the cartridge - when starting a print jop the printer provides to You the opportunity to deactivate the ink recognition - so You will have no ink level related information for the refilled cartridge anymore but You can print... without the deactivation the print does not start.

      Hello Paul, thanks for taking the time and contribute to our tutorial. By doing the refill several times You can get a good feeling to avoid the cartridge leaking ink from the top due to overfilling the sponge. Take care....
