Thank you for this summery wild flower scene - so peaceful ☺️. I loved painting it this afternoon and added white daisies, masked out, as your previous tutorial, and I’m really happy with it 👏🙏😁
Hello, Ifound your channel recently and I'm happy about it. I am from Vienna and in the Summer I go to the countryside and just lay in the grass looking around I never thaught of painting that You have now inspired me to do it.Thank you! And... It often astonishes me, how you start a painting. It looks loose and stressless, though with a decisive movement of your hand . 💐 ❤ greetings, Christine,
Absolutely stunning Lois - I would love to see your next one with the poppies and cornflowers 🤞. Your technique is brilliant and the textures are fabulous 😁. Thank you so much.
Hi Lois, I tried this and uploaded it to a watercolour group I am a member of. I was asked to share your inspirational video so many more can have a go! Much appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you. Such an inspiring tutorial. I’ve come from botanical painting (very controlled) and am now exploring semi abstract painting, which always end up (surprise, surprise), with something botanical in them. I’ve been using the backs of leaves to print on to my paintings at the end and I wondered if this is a subject that you have covered in any of your tutorials.
I forgot to tell you Shia is a beautifull cat 😺 I have two cats and Max, the male, everytime I draw or paint he walks on the paper or lies down ! And sometime he chewings my pencil !!... It's funny. maybe it's an artistic's cat 😹🎨 ...
Lois question, I see you do not use a full strip of tape on the edge but a partial edge. I also see you get it very straight of experience makes it so. I never tried a partial piece and always a whole piece then added a piece on the edge for finish edge. That makes it like a 1cm edge for you it looks like while mine is one inch tape. have you always most used a 1cm edge or did you use various edge sizes. The paper you use I have not seen here so is there another kind you like. How about a bright white versus the creamier less bright paper. i have bought about six kinds of paper and use them all but still am looking for they say the one i like best. Now on the salt thing is it iodized or nn iodized, big or all same size. I have not salted but i did find a thing that works very interesting. I placed 91 percent rubbing alcohol in a sprayer and used that. it makes nice patterns and small blooms and seed heads and that sort of thing you are getting also. I looked at the matty brushes but havent ordered one as they are outside the us states and too long of order time right now. I want to order some of the brusho powder but need to do color looks. i also need the hake brushes really badly but amazon has been sold out all the time.
I just stick the tape on using a full strip. I don’t know if the salt is iodised, probably not, it’s finely ground. I use natural white paper not bright white
I like the Arteza table easel and highly recommend it, I prefer one that is landscape format as opposed to portrait format, but that’s personal preference

Hiya Lois, Thanks very much for a great presentation and a lovely subject. From a new subscriber in England.x
Love this I’m going to try doing something similar but not really clear on how to do the salt part.

Please tell me name/type of long thin brush used to do the fine dark brown stalk and seeds. Beautiful.
I think I used a dagger brush/sword liner

I'm able to buy a tabletop easel next week.... anything special to look for, as far as watercolor painting is concerned? Thanks!
I like the Arteza table easel and highly recommend it, I prefer one that is landscape format as opposed to portrait format, but that’s personal preference
@@LoisDavidsonArt thanks so much! Great tip!
This is such a lovely painting. Simplicity and beauty can be achieved. Thanks for showing us this technique. What type sprayer were you using?
Thank you, its the type of mister used by hairdressers
lovely painting. Is that a 10 oz spray bottle?
Thanks! I'm not sure, it was a gift
