i changed both camshaft sensors and i only had the P0340 camshaft position sensor A Circuit Bank 1 or single sensor but it still has the code i checked the wiring harness and i saw no breaks or messed up wires so i don't know don't have a bunch of fancy tools but i do have 3 scanners all different but nice i thought changing it out would fix the problem
I have the 1.4 engine on this car replaced intake camshaft , exhaust camshaft and crankshaft sensor runs fine for q month then all of a sudden all 3 codes come back at the same time need help!!!!
I have a 2008 Chevy Impala SS and the codes are PO340,PO341,PO300,and PO1682, it runs bad, just changed crank and camshaft sensor, spark plug and wire because of a no startup, now that I have it running, it runs bad. I’m not a mechanic but I can do some mechanical work just trying to figure out where to start looking
Hey guys just a suggestion but maybe next time you guys get this code try swaping the two sensors to different banks if you have more than one camshaft, clear the codes and see if it switches banks or not. If it doesn't there could be a problem with the camshaft timing itself depending on how new the vehicle is. On most modern cars the computer won't let the car start if it is even slightly off but in some older early 2000's cars and a few cheaply made new ones they will still run and potentially damage the engine (especially on an interference engine). In the case of a single camshaft motor testing the voltage of the circuit to the sensor and ohm's of the sensor itself with a multimeter would be a smart idea to diagnose that the sensor is truly bad rather than just replace it and it end up not working and them you're in the hole for a decent chunk of change sometimes and much as $200 just for one sensor. Just a suggestion that could save some money.
They are different sensors. Unless you are planning to stretch the connector with the sensor. The plugs are keyed so you can't get them switched by accident.
I HAVE XTOOL D7 AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHY MY 2004 MALIBU, 4 CYL, 2.2L, IS SHOWING A 340 CODE, CRANK SENSOR DONE WITH GM PART, ONE OF 4 PLUGS CHANGED, NEW IGNITION CONTROL MODULE, NEW OIL PRESSURE SWITCH NEXT TO CRANK SENSOR, THERE IS NO CAM SENSOR ON MY MALIBU, ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY TESTED AND SHOWS 7V RIPPLE VOLTAGE, IS THIS A BAD THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR OR BAD ALTERNATOR, CAR STARTS UP OK BUT DOES NOT SOUND PERFECT., BATTERY IS 1 YR OLD, CAR HAS 207,000 MILES. THERE IS NO RATTLE ON THE TIMING CHAIN, MINOR ROUGH IDLE, MAP SENSOR IS NEW. ANY IDEAS?
Bad fuel pump for my Chevy. But code was p0340. Car won't start cuz of p0340. A camshaft position sensor because I replaced the sensor still car won't start. And code won't disappear. When my car wouldn't start, the p0340 the only code that popped up. And when I try to start it that sounded like there was no fuel going to the engine which is obviously not a camshaft position sensor I don't care what the DTC code says. It's a bad fuel pump because the fuel pump used to make a buzzing noise when I would turn the ignition on but now it's completely silent which means it's not working. Explains why the car will not turn on because the fuel pump has gone bad. I'm sick of all these videos not really helping me with what's really going on with my car. P0340 is a bad fuel pump for a 01 Chevy Cavalier. Even replaced the crankshaft position sensor. Neither of those 2 anything to do with why the fuel pump went out.
It's states that p0340 is not a cam sensor code. It's specifically cam sensor wiring damaged. I replaced the sensor and the pigtail and still it doesn't start.

Have your alternator checked for a bad diode.
Did you ever get it figured out?
Honda pilot 2008 has the same code but it has a 6 cylinders misfire. Do you think the camshaft sensor be ?
