This week I installed a side mount racing seat onto the stock power rails in my 1999 Bmw 323i "back to basics" budget drift car! I also got the cheap JOM coilers i ordered off of eBay and was able to install them Friday night before the drift event! I lost the footage of doing the CCV delete, but ill make another quick video on that this week as well as installing a catch can.

Not sure if anybody already mentioned it, but to ‘memorize’ the seating positions, you press the M button one time and it should light up, then press the number you want to set it to, and then press the M button once more and viola your position should be saved
You only have to click M then whatever number and it saves the seat and side mirror positions
For the quarter window it’s glued in and yes their are a couple bolts that hold the center trim on. I cut a window out of a junk car and glued it in. Better yet just grab the whole door
Cool you can use the memory buttons to have track and street mode

to set your seat memory, press the "M" button, release, then press the preset button you want to assign
Go get some no cats headers, 330i intake and 330i cams, you can get quiet some power with that. Pretty cheap. A 3,46 diff help a lot too.

Brey Krause actually makes E46 side mount brackets for stock power and manual sliders. Just need an E30 window switch to move the seat and it has a lil window where it snaps in. Only thing is, i dont think you can go up and down, only forward and backwards
The type of plastic the limiters are made of is called Delrin, it's very strong and considered self lubricating
those junkyard wheels with a refresh would be sweet.

E36s and E46s are notoriously weak.
This!!! The diff mounts rip out of the chassis
Rear subframe mounts, rear trailing arm mounts, and shock tower reinforcements when moving to coilovers are all good things to do to these cars. It's not a matter of if your car will tear the sheet metal, it's a matter of when. Weld in everything before it happens so you don't have a bigger headache on your hands.
Trevor, I have just found your video with beater e46, cause I was drifting and 'fighting' with cheap-setup in two E46s already. I've mentioned that you are wrong with the descriptions of spring ratings in your coilovers :P Stuff like this is sold in Poland too and this numbers, which you are reading as spring rates, are just simple max loads of the suspension per axle :) I'm making the customs springs of my own and have already really measured, that such types of springs are not more then 5-6kg/mm. Switching them to real 11-12k is making in 46 sadan really big difference. Thats why you had so much grip at rear and had to bump psi in tires to make it drift. But overall - props, that you were trying to drift with such simple build :) Cheap drift is making a lot of fun too ;)

The window in question that you were referring to on that model is usually a combination of Bolton and glue you'll have to disassemble the whole door to get to it if it's the one I'm thinking of best of luck

Or a set from a 328. Pretty sure the USDM versions are a lot more free flowing and dont have the front cats. The upshot is they are way more likely to fit!
I think that the front cats go by state because i'm yet to see a 328 in California that doesn't have the front cats

just use the end links from an e36 swaybar. there mounted to the lower control arm in stead off to the shock. if you use the e46 type you might run in to rubbing them on the tires when you hit full lock. i run a e30 325i front swaybar becouse its not as wide. so i would not have to eal ith that problem with a lock kit i'm excited for this build!
The tick in the G might be the timing chain guide, some VQ's have plastic ones and they fail.

I’m not the most knowledgeable person about engine internals, especially vq35s. But the “tick” on David’s infinity (nissan) is apparently pretty common for many Nissan engine platforms. They use a shim/bucket lifter on many occasions, vs a hydraulic lifter. Like I said not sure about his vq. But my wife has a versa the I noticed this tick. And from my research it seemed to be a very common thing, but also not really an issue. I’ve read people have replaced and or adjusted the lifter assemblies and within 15k miles have it return. Has a lot to do with the components expanding and creating a little bit of space to cause the tick at certain engine temps and its much more noticeable at idle. More of an annoyance than a nuisance.
