- The MAD FORCE lures an Idris into atmosphere and then drops a MOAB on it. This sends the Idris into a nosedive where it crashes into the surface. Then, we finish it off with more MOAB strikes! / aldo_brink
For some strange reason, I wish I could be a crew of that Idris after the MOAB disabled power. Running, desperately trying to get to the escape pods or a shuttle before impact.
yeah that's the stuff. here is a preview of that with an andromeda and towards the end a clip of a ships internal as its about to explode

Even when the disable ship feature comes, a straight nose dive from orbit should be an immediate explosion. On another note that ending explosion was fly I can’t lie. I want to see it from the enemy pov, I know they were going crazy
Probably killed every NPC and critical system onboard with the first MOAB, which is why it lost all control. But yeah, without a shield to soak up some of the impact, it should have vaporized on impact.
I'm pretty sure they will upgrade the collision system eventually so that crashes are more realistic. Just a matter of time.

This reminds me of Star Wars, where the Star Destroyers got destroyed by the rebells
yeah, it would be nice if the ship's damage physics in future would include proper damage on surface impact plus some dirt and dust clouds from ground hit
A few years ago they showed a demo of what they were experimenting with the 'fabric tech' applying it not only tarps, clothes and hair, but also to ship hulls for deforming and twisting the damaged areas.
Not sure if they've moved along with that but I'd guess it was put on hold.
@@RoballTV i'm sure they want to do it, but just some dust dirt and fake pieces flying FX from impact would do amazing theater

i cant wait for the day when we have proper crash physics and some more realistic physics lol but still great vid and like chunks would fall off of the ship and crash down near it

You could see nearly every single turret and thruster die on that thing with the first bomb. AOE is clearly the way to go for crippling capital ships ^^
thing is... you gotta land one on it.. with the crewed Cap ships and automated systems... while they have to be tweaked... would anyone seriously ever let the A2 near their ship... would the A2 even survive to get close to the ship... i would imagine it would be like a lone bomber trying to hit an aircraft carrier... so many defenses to get through... that is what i am looking forward to... but yes... if just one of those beautiful bombs gets through.... its should rain hell to the ship :)
I think I know why it went into a nosedive… that single bomb destroyed ALL of its engines. I noticed that after the bomb hit and the camera went around the Idris’ back that all 4 of it’s main engine cells were completely missing with smoke pouring out of the spots the engine cells once occupied.
Now imagine if we had salvage...

Ok those work in space? I was certain that would not be a thing. Also one shot on a idris holy hell. I can see this being abused to hell and back. I don't mind it's power. But they need to fix moabs dropping in space WTH.

honestly the bombs fall so damn slow, a ship falling falls faster than the bomb, wish they fell a bit faster
If gladiators can carry bombs almost as powerful, there could be something to that.

lmao, it will never become a permanent feature in the landscape. You know how many ships would littered over the planet over time. EntityGraph is nice but its not that powerful.
@@anthonygordon9483 they will certainly degrade over time but they should stay long enough for the salvagers to pick over them at least.

Does an Idris not have any shields or anti missile guns? Makes me feel a bit sad that such a huge ship can be disabled with just one strike.
It's a S10 bomb though. Also the hull of the ship didn't get one shot but the damaged components and engines caused to ship to be disabled.
Ship was semi frozen due to bad servers. It will not be as easy in the future I'm sure.
That bomb would've been easily shot down along with the A2 if the AI actually functioned properly but de-sync have for some time caused big problems with AI which is also the reason why some stand of chairs.
im not gonna lie that was very anticlimactic lol i expected big boom then nose diving ship to explode... nice commentary though

1st it's not space, they are in edge of atmo
2nd, yes bombs without propellant will still travel in space due to inertia whether it being from ship movement or even bomb release mechanism
