I realise Australia’s pandemic situation is much less shit than many other countries' - including ones where many of our non-Aussie viewers live. However our relative success so far has been in spite of, rather than thanks to, our federal Government's pandemic response. We've managed well thanks some of our States’ efforts - not to mention the sacrifices made by all of us, and especially frontline healthcare workers. Meanwhile, our federal government's key policy seems to have been not listening to experts until the eleventh hour and then blaming everyone else - State Premiers, limo drivers, ATAGI doctors, all of us - for the resulting shitshow. So I figured it’s time to finally make an Honest Government Ad about this bullshit. We are the Australian government, and our chief responsibility is hotel quarantine and vaccines. Ahem. We are the Australian government, and our two responsibilities are hotel quarantine, vaccines, and aged care! We'll come in again.
No doubt both levels of government are now the laughing stock of the world. They are even that stupid they think we cannot see through their bullshit because when the solutions are so blindingly obvious, corruption is allways found intwined. They are concerned about the low toxin jab rate, and praise the countries with a high rate, but fail to inform that countries with high jab rates are the ones with the high covid numbers. The higher the jab % the higher the covid hospital admissions and deaths. Who can see what is happening, I am sure the governments see it, and love the results.

That's not quite true. The ABC has been carrying a lie for the Goverment all the way through the pandemic. The constant carry on about stranded Australians was correct at first but ceased as a concern when Morrison started making returned travellers pay for their own quarantine. Even though the ABC continued to dramatise the stranded narrative some 450,000 people entered Australia of which around half were returning travellers all of whom were wealthy enough to afford it. It was all BS, like everything the ABC and the parliament has told us. Like covid, just as predicted but NEVER relayed to the public has lost 94% of It's lethal potency. Yes the predicted spikes cause more infection thus it seems more people are dying of the disease but they are not, statistically it's the opposite. It's only the vulnerable that need to be vaccinated no one else especially not our kids who are 5 times more likely to develop serious injury from Pfiser than covid. It's not about covid anymore, it's about the covid pass, nothing more, it's just abuse of the Australian people.

i worked on a geriatric ward back in 2018/19 and we had a influenza outbreak throughout the entire ward, room by room - everyone got sick, and it lasted for weeks. Could we open a window and let in some fresh air? Hell no! 'open' isn't even a thing these windows do. So we're all breathing in the same sh!tty sickly stale air day after day week after week. I mean even (the overrated) Florence Nightingale knew you should open a f*****g window. LoL! i love these videos more than life itself. Combining logic and reason with comedy - in this day and age - is like breath of fresh air in itself. Keep it up!

@@AgoristsRising By public mandate. No one has a right to initiave violence. What if someone does anyway? No one has a right to robt others. What is someone does anyway? Both questions have the same answer: Government agents put a stop to it. Usually police or militias, and judges. And if they abuse their authority? Same answer. What is a government? A body of people working for the general public, legitimised by the consent of same general public. What do they do? How do you avoid someone putting poison into your food, accidentally or deliberately? Government restrictions regulating food safety. Same with medication. Same with traffic rules. What is taxation? People just have a blind view, controlled by the government "Get the vaccine to keep our community safe", "self isolate to stop the virus from spreading". All bullcrap. Yes it is true, but that isn't the problem nor the reason for a corona outbreak. In theory, for a virus to start, it either has to be CREATED or TRANSMITTED. I doubt it was recreated in Australia, thus it was TRANSMITTED. Therefore, the virus came from Outside Australia. But how did it get in? Someone has to cross Australian borders with the virus. But don't they quarantine??? Yea, supposedly! But clearly they aren't isolating/quarantining properly. Fair enough considering people are idiots, but who's job is it to enforce isolation? That's right! The bloody government enforcement's! They are clearly doing a Shite job at it (as demonstrated in this video). So how many people that don't understand this do you know? I know plenty! You sound more cogent than a junior primary school kid. I am just saying your comment seems overly simplistic like a teenager would think. The real world is a little more complicated than you describe. I don't even think you've really captured what the issues are. Instead, you're fixated on a one-dimensional aspect of the problem. It's thinking like that which makes for really susceptible viewers for this pseudo-humour video style.
@@theoriginalwasa this is my view. If I were to display all my knowledge on the corona virus, it would be a lot longer than 100 words lol. You seem simplistic in thinking that I can cover a problem in 3 dimensions within 100 words. Yes most people believe the rollout is not going well, although there is a reason half of Americans have taken it, and a rise in Australians taking it. MY argument is simply saying so agree with ONE aspect of the video. I don't understand how in hell you think I will give 3 dimensions of a problem over RUclips? Yes it seems like a teenager wrote it, because I couldn't give 2 shits how my grammar, sentence structure and general overview of a problem sounds. You sound like you need to make a university chat for PhD graduates where capital letters at the start of a sentence are essential to join the PhD community. Now, I am fixating on ONE element of this video. Yes it may come across as "1 dimentional" as you said, but that is because IT LITERALLY IS as I am fixating on ONE aspect of her video. I am then expanding on that aspect as it is something I see a lot. So if you don't like it, go to your PhD chat and talk 3-D with all the grumpy blokes with a PhD. RUclips is a place for opinions, regardless of how simplistic and/or how many dimentional they are.

@Elliot I wasn't making a point though. All I said to the other person was that if they took what was said on this chanel verbatum, they would only be getting one side of the story. They would be getting a biased opinion. Bias is normal and these guys can do whatever they want and think whatever they want but their one sided thought process sticks out like dogs balls, as is the case with ALL the state Governments. Even the NSW LNP was getting in the on Fed bashing for a while there. But, if you don't live here and it sounded like they didn't by the phrasing they used, you might think it was all accurate but it's not. It's coloured by just as much spin as the claim that's constantly made regarding the Feds. I mean if people don't think Daniel Andrews isn't the king of spin in this country (even flat out lying to the Coate enquiry), then I can't help them.
Australia could not have been in a better position to be the first 100% covid-free country. With no land border, strict quarantine laws and low population density it should have been a slam dunk to vaccinate everyone (It's also 55th in terms of world population so we wouldn't have needed that many vaccines anyway). I am staggered at how badly the government screwed it all up
Excuse me. New Zealand is locally aquired covid free. The only cases we've had for months have been successfully contained at the border. We've spent the vast majority of this outbreak with cases only at the border. The only way any country can be completely covid free, not just locally aquired free, is by keeping citizens travelling from almost all other countries out. Because even with vaccines and pre departure testing, it wouldn't catch everyone, which is why you need quarantine at the border.
@@spiritlevelstudios Nobody's said the vaccine will stop you from getting Covid. That's why you need multiple doses, remember? Each one will protect you more, but it will never be perfect. If you do get it, the vaccine will make it less severe. That's why most of the people dying of Covid at this point are unvaccinated. The vaccinated people still get it, but they aren't hit as hard by it. (and in a stroke of luck, the vaccines are pretty effective against the Delta variant as well, despite not being developed for it)
@@spiritlevelstudios "compared to strenghtening the immune system naturally" There is no functional difference between a vaccine and the disease that vaccine combats, when it comes to immune system recognition/retention. The only "natural" way to "strengthen" the immune system is to get exposed to the disease. This will then make you immune (or at least more resistant to) to that specific disease. Apart from this immunisation, the immune system itself is not strenghtened by this. In fact, it has temporarily become weaker as it had to spend resources fighting off the disease, which leaves you vulnerable to other pathogens. This is why people can die of pneumonia after serious infections.
@@spiritlevelstudios That was not what I said. The immune system still has to recognise the pathogen before it can effectively fight it and on the first infection, that takes quite some time *regardless of how healthy one's immune system is* . Even a healthy immune system isn't immunised by default. Vaccinations are, in effect, a substitute for the first infection. The difference is that with the vaccine, you are far less likely to get sick from this "infection". Again, the same "natural" process is used to immunise the body; antigens of the pathogen get recognised, the body produces matching antibodies to fight it. During this, it also produces memory cells for far quicker responses in the future (this is the immunisation part). I also want to say, "it's natural" doesn't mean it's better or even good for you at all. You can extract perfectly natural cyanide from various (wild) seeds but you sure as hell wouldn't want to ingest that. The "appeal to nature fallacy" is called that for a reason.
Doesn't play well for their political views. Like the statement quarantine is a federal issue, but states agreed to take control of it. Then when it falls apart, blame the federal government. Or the fact that NZs fully vaccinated rate is lower than us. But I thought Jacinda cared about her people, does that mean she completely messed up too? I hate the politics playing into this shit.
@@MrMitchellday I do wonder if countries like yours and nz, Japan where more cautious or hang back from taking vaccine because other countries where in a really bad place. Love it how you called us peasants. I’ve been saying for a long time that the need to ask our lords for permission to leave the land is a hark back to the days of serfdom 😞
Not really. Serfs could leave if they wanted to, but they would lose all legal protection if nowhere else wanted them. Many moved to cities, outside of the control of lords, but even the cities wouldn't let you in without an invitation. Passports are an invention of the 20th century, on the occasion of what is misleadingly called the Spanish Flu.

This is so sad. Here in Fiji, one hotel quarantine breach and poor decisions have now seen the country nearing over 1/4 of the population being currently infected with the Delta Variant (not counting those who've recovered and the deaths). Hotel quarantines definitely DO NOT work at all. What's more sad is we constantly see Australia promising us doses of vaccines and sending aid but the situation in Australia seems pretty bad as well. As much as we're thankful for the help...but why promise so much elsewhere when your own citizens are having such a hard time. It's always supposed to be about the best interest of your people first before playing the aid and influence game with China over other South Pacific countries.
We're still in a pretty strong position in Australia - with regards to covid anyway. Our issue is the politics and ensuring we do what we need to, to stop the situation becoming bad. Also other (political) problems, such as housing crisis, stagnant wages, water, etc. In total we have had 32,565 infections so far, which is only 0.13% of our population. Our death rate is now low, our hospitals are coping. The problem is that - as experience all over the world shows - it can go so quickly from "a few people are sick, a few people died" to hospitals overwhelmed. Especially if it gets into vulnerable communities (as happened July 2020, in Victoria).
Absolutely. Most of the "Victorian" deaths were in the Federally-managed aged care system. I don't think there were any deaths in the many fewer State-run aged care facilities.

Same. As an American, I actually saw the PSA in question elsewhere in another video. Knowing how Australia packages cigarettes, I thought it was a relatively mild warning by comparison; in watching the remainder of the video and reading the comments for it, however, it became clear that the PSA was somewhat unfair-particularly to the young people at whom it was aimed. Seeing _this_ video brings the scope of the issue to light, and proves the PSA is a lot more than "somewhat" unfair.
It was particularly hurtful because there's been a real ongoing attack against young people in Australia at the moment, in an attempt to deflect blame from the government. I'm in Sydney at the moment, and every morning I have to listen to our politicians and health officers directly addressing young people, saying 'stay home, get vaccinated, you think you're immune but the Delta will target you too." The heavy subtext is that it's up to the young to get Australia out of this. But it's young Australians who haven't had access to vaccines. It's young Australians that work in the riskiest public-facing or critical roles (grocery stores, food prep, health care, construction, etc) and are more likely to catch COVID. The politicians in our country seem to think young people don't understand that this is serious and are mindlessly perpetuating it, when in reality they are placed in an impossible position of needing to go out to work to keep Australia running, without vaccine protection. This is why young people were angry with the PSA, not because it was shocking but because it was insulting.
@@raerae734 yeah i registered for the vaccine but still haven't even gotten a date (i have gotten an email saying how "it's coming" which is just ridiculous). and as a result i'm now stuck in the SE queensland extended lockdown. meanwhile our chief health officers is talking about how the QLD govt has a bunch of covid vaccines available and how many doses are expiring, but that they can't give any to young people (i'm 16 btw). honestly i'd accept the risks of getting an uncertified vaccine, but i'm not sure what exactly would be the ramifications of doing that. i just hope the people who can get vaccinated (the priority group) would hurry up so we can have our go.
@@mylifeasmanta Ha, I haven't even had an email in response to my registration of interest! The Feds really binned the vaccine rollout. After aged and disability care and Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities they should have focused on the 18-40 age group. Many epidemiologists have pointed out from early on that this age group is more mobile and works in riskier environments with a larger number of contacts and therefore are more likely to catch and spread the disease; so covering them off actually helps those 60+ who are more vulnerable, but are protected by their overall risk being lowered. But this cynic can't help but notice that's a weak voting demographic for the LNP, so... What REALLY makes me mad is that the AZ advice changed to be those aged 60+, but recently in NSW there is a massive push for those 40 and under to get AZ as well, despite the well documented higher (though still minimal) risk for this demographic. Which is fine, I'll go get my AZ once I can, the risk is marginal for me. But there is literally no mention of the 40-60 demographic doing the same, this group exclusively gets the Pfizer vaccine, though their blood clot risk is less! So once again, all responsibility and risk is carried by the young in Australia. And, to be cynical again, I can't help but notice it was the 50-60 demographic of LNP voters that cried and tantrumed the loudest over being asked to get the AZ before the advice changed and now they exclusively get Pfizer they've fallen silent. :/

@@spiritlevelstudios
They do, though. Slightly less effectively than with other variants, but it's still significant.
(and in a stroke of luck, the vaccines are pretty effective against the Delta variant as well, despite not being developed for it)
@@spiritlevelstudios "compared to strenghtening the immune system naturally"
There is no functional difference between a vaccine and the disease that vaccine combats, when it comes to immune system recognition/retention.
@@spiritlevelstudios
That was not what I said.

It's not a race, but we're losing.
The most vaccuated countries in the world have massive numbers of Covid cases, just look.
So that means Australians aren't rushing to get that experimental, untested, unknown cocktail of poison? And the pcr tests have been proven to be inaccurate and was never designed for such tests, causing false positives cases!! Yep i wonder why Australians aren't lining up to get the jab? 🤔
Even behind third world countries that says a lot.
You forgot our third line of defence, successful at home treatments for Covid. So people are treated before they get so sick they need hospital care.
And our true first line of defence. A healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and good diets.
This isn't the channel to come for common sense or education... but yes, you're right.

@Gaymer, I am in my late 50's and had my first shot of AstraZeneca and have my 2nd shot in 2 weeks. I had a sore arm and a headache and felt really cold the day after but like you said, "Better than having covid"
Fiji got hit hard by the Spanish flu as well. I hope it's not so bad.
As a person from Vic I also want to remind people of a further federal responsibility .... Age Care.
Absolutely. Most of the "Victorian" deaths were in the Federally-managed aged care system. I don't think there were any deaths in the many fewer State-run aged care facilities.

I’m glad I found this one late. I’m 4 days into lockdown here in Newcastle, living with an elderly parent who can’t get her 2nd AZ shot for a fortnight. The country might be awash in AstraZeneca- but Newcastle is seriously short of appointments and has been for weeks.
Big shout out to everyone else in lockdown- especially everyone in Western Sydney. We feel for you. We know you’re doing everything you can to keep us and each other safe, but this is Delta and we needed competent government. Instead we got shirking and smirking and jerking on desks.
Given you have little else to do in lockdown there are some excellent peer reviewed papers and scientific papers on what the mRNA technology is actually about, quite scary what they don't know about the medium and long term effects. But then if you only watch the ABC good luck in finding your jab.

You are a voice in sense in this unreasonable video... this juice media tells of politicians doing a shitty job but she is all for quanrantines to continue, just as long as they have sealed air vents... news flash.. covid is only transferable when you have the flu symptoms of sneezing , coughs and the such like influenza... so just breathing in the same room as another human does not equal transmission .
Yeah, just finished this whole thing and going to go back to teaching without any protections. 40 students + 1 teacher in a room, yeah "totally cool and normal"

I now understand the controversy of that PSA
@@raerae734 i honestly have no idea what they're doing sometimes. as long as the older guys are happy i guess. they listen to everything the 40+ have to say, while teenagers carry coles and woolworths checkout on their backs. i don't have a job yet, so i can understand if i come later in the vaccination process (if there even is a process) but it'd be great to see some actual action/thought towards the young people australia is counting so much on
p.s. i hope you get your email soon. but in some ways, i hope you don't. it genuinely feels like a false sense of security for the gov to buy a bit more time while they figure out their rollout, because for whatever reason we can't just be like other countries. again, i only know the very basics of how the process, government parties and "health advice" works but i don't see how countries like the UK or canada.
I just discovered this channel. This video is the best description of the joke which is Australias Covid situation.
