Patara I just caught my husband going through all of our emergency stash and taking what he wanted. I had just bought two weeks supply of our normal food. Boy, was I mad. I informed him that was for emergency only and ask him what other stuff he had taken. He said I was to let him give his no account family whatever they wanted when they came over and he showed them all my hard work .He even let them raid my garden. I was proud of myself and didn't cry. I just went to the basement and got out suitcases. He asked me where I was going and I said no where but you are. I have been married to him for 57 years and he will not do this to me. I told him that he gave the food away to people too lazy to even work while I worked so hard in the garden and prepping. He will not come back until he has replaced everything he gave them including all the fresh vegetables they took. He should be thankful that fruit stands are open tomorrow. I told him we have some serious talking to do before I let him back in again. My mother didn't raise a fool.
So sad that your husband would do that . But you are right to stand your ground . My sister and I are not talking for two months because I try to talk to her about prepping . She kept hanging up on me . I told her to buy cloth diapers for their new grandson , because won’t be able to buy in store . She’s says if she runs out of food she will come to my house . I told her she needs to prep for her family . Her daughter is a nurse . She doesn’t even go to a grocery store . Orders from Walmart and they deliver . Or gets food from door dash . Unbelievable !!

Keep at it! It's been 9 years for me. I started when my oldest was in his second week of 1st grade and I pulled him from public school, he's about to enter his sophomore year of high school this year. Meanwhile, I also have 6th & 2nd graders and a preschooler, along with 2 babies. Very busy juggling it all, but I don't see any alternative given the way things are.
I'm glad to see this. My daughter is going to try and homeschool my only granddaughter this up coming school year. She will be second grade. Kept me up at night worrying she will be ruining her social skills a nd missing school functions. But I've been seeing so many positive things. She cheers on the local public teams. So she sees other kids that way. I'm just a traditional gramma. Keeping my fingers crossed its not a mistake.
I pulled my daughter out of public school in December and I was hesitant to tell her pediatrician because she's very mainstream minded. She told me, "Good. I'm glad to hear that." I was so relieved. It was the confirmation I needed.
My wife tuned out for awhile but she's back on track. She was overwhelmed and needed a break so zi let her and just kept up taking care of stocking up for the family.
It's hard. We all need a break now and then. I limit my time watching the news, even the most conservative that I can find. I have to get caught up with my resource storage so that I can find more room. Then will start up again.
My canning was usually done in the Fall but I started canning this Spring. Chicken, beef, pork, soup you name it. Not the cheapest but it is either gonna get more expensive or non existent. Doubled the garden this year so I will be canning for months. Thanks for your pep talks!
Started canning meat this year and hope I don’t make anyone sick. Some of that meat looks scary in the jar..lol. My brother said he would have to eat it with his eyes closed!

I get overwhelmed sometimes especially in the heat. But yesterday, my daughter came out and started learning about gardening. I enjoyed teaching her which ears of corn 🌽 were ready. Showing which plants will soon produce..etc..makes it worthwhile. Today I'm going to teach her how to can chicken.
It's funny I come to your channel as a "therapy". Some of the other channels are so over the top. I appreciate your straightforward approach and calm delivery. Thank you.
Got lots of people around me with the "head in the sand" syndrome...family included. I'm also terrified for my boy. THAT'S what keeps me motivated...my fear for my boy. I think you are very correct...there are A LOT of us on the same page about all kinds of subjects...and, I'd be pulling any child of mine right the hell out of public school if I had any at school-age! Thank GOD mine is grown and well out of any school setting! I pulled him out in the 1990's for FAR LESS than what's going on now, so I KNOW I'd have him out of there in a split second in 2022!!!! I fear for my two 20 something kids, the lockdowns have done such damage and the stories my parents told me about WW2 keep rolling around in my head be safe!
Excellent video as always. As I watered my parched, hay-like grass in SE Texas, looked up at the moon as it was still daylight, and thought, yes, Lord, you are in control no matter what happens. This is but for a season. Reading His Word daily and especially the Psalms, is very comforting. Give thanks to Him daily that we still have food available to purchase and to keep prepping. Blessings to you and your family and great news that James is doing very well.
Things getting better lol, they are so funny aren't they. I guess if you want to call a 1/4 carriage of food for $144.oo being better to them then🤔. Yup it's a game to them. I should of had a overflowing carriage of food for that price 🤔😭🙃.
Weird happenings today. I live in SC and my sister lives in FL. We both were in stores early this morning. I in Walmart and her in Aldi… we both had an anxiety and dread feeling that we needed to get out of the stores we were in. We’re doing our due diligence but have this feeling of uneasiness. I feel like we are all living on a prayer. I worry for my kids and grandkids. Paterson hang in there…we all in this together
I am working my butt off gardening, canning, preparing for whatever is to come. My friends and family are traveling, shopping, living in total oblivion. They have said if something happens “I’m coming to your house.” Oh no you’re not! I’m 68 years old and am not taking care of any lazy people!
Same here! I have realatives and all they do is travel and want to have fun. They say, we know where to come when the bottom drops out. In that day, they better have something to barter with; gold and silver please. Or they better be ready to work the truck patch. They're living for moments and they can't be quiet about the garden.
I was excited to see gas below $6 today here in Northern California. Crazy times. Lost my husband 7days ago. Be grateful for every day you get. Bless you all💞
My Husband thinks I am paranoid about things, he seems unmoved or concerned. Drives me BANANAS! I just keep on doing what I CAN! PRAY AND HOPE EVERYTHING WILL BE BETTER SOON!
Me too! Hubby is so NOT concerned, and I am concerned enough for both of us! Thank goodness he us letting me do what I need to do to keep my anxiety level down as much as possible. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Mine too, but I find gentle persuasion - if the powers that be can "nudge" then so can we. He's now into prepping big time which is a huge relief as we are now on the same page there. Hang in there, you can do it!
My husband thinks the same about me . But he’s now slowly seeing what I say is truth and he seems socked that I continue to be right about what’s happening.
Hurray for James!!! 💗💗💗 I scored two boxes of canning jars tonight! You would have thought I won the lottery but really what a blessing! Rough day in Canada. I was at my doctor today as well. We had the same conversation we’ve had since 2020- how my anxiety is affecting my health. My doctor said to me “ The world is not going to get better. We need to figure out how we can all deal with this for our mental health”.

My sis and son in Knoxville have been informed and they are acting like that doctor. I recognized I was being treated like a dog way back in 2020 after the thing hit...you know the thing. I was working for the counting team for the thing that happened that year. You will have to read between these lines, but with all the "distancing" in the call center they actually took ALL the lunch tables away and we were expected to eat lunch in a corner with no table and teetering our lunch box on our knees. I was protesting with management and told them I don't appreciate being treated like a dog....I ended up quitting early. If folks don't get busy there will be nothing in the lunch box.
I am a public school teacher. In California. My classroom is my mission field. I have been put there for a reason and I am passionate about it! But . . . if my children were still in school, I would never, never put them in public school. I personally know teachers and "activists" who spew evil in my District. But I keep telling myself that this is why I am there, too. I believe there will be a day when I am no longer welcome to teach in public school because of my beliefs and the lines that I am not willing to cross. But until then, I love on my students and try my best to teach them.

You are so right! I have not been in a store in almost a month dew to some family health problems. I went to the store tonight and felt sick to my stomach at the difference in the prices in a month. My stress level went through the roof.
Thank you for your encouragement in homeschooling! I am relieved beyond adequate words to be out of public school and to be homeschooling. This will be my third year.

Good to see you this evening Patara! 🥰 I've got a ton of stuff growing in my gardens, but the highlight of my day today was seeing my sugar baby watermelons the size of marbles. 😁
So many wonderful comments! Thank you so much for posting. I have had such a hard time today. I went to the store for cream and they were completely out, but I remembered the 5 can challenge and bought about 12 extra cans and a bag of rice. We have been stocking up, but I'm just feeling so depleted. We have been over 100 degrees with zero rain for about a month and that alone makes me want to cry. Amen to homeschooling. Schools just aren't an option anymore... nothing snobbish, they're just not an option. My kids are blowing school expectations out of the water at home and learning SO much more. Thanks Patara. ❤
I'm not being kicked. I'm not being abused. I just observe what's going on, look around, and plan/prepare accordingly best I can. If everybody around me doesn't or won't, not my problem.
You're amazing Patara. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for being bold and brave. Homeschooling my kids the last two years has been the best thing to happen to my family. Keep encouraging families to try it!
Parents should look at the actual policies that are online for their county and state. I was shocked. At least my grandkids will be allowed to opt out of some of that garbage. Pay attention to your county and state elections - it matters. That’s how they are chipping away at this country … from the bottom up.

I feel like I'm at a stall. My garden hasn't been doing well. Haven't canned anything! I look at my house and feel depressed about taking care of it. The heat has been unbearable here in South Carolina and I know that is part of it. Everyday I feel overwhelmed and end up fighting to get motivated.
I’m with you. I have so much food to organize and store, we’re blessed for that reason but I’m overwhelmed. I haven’t been able to keep up the energy to keep prepping and then it makes me feel worse when I don’t get more. Let’s try to keep our chin up and move forward! 💜🙏🏻💜
My stress busters are preserving, prepping, gardening and baking. Right now with my injury I'm concentrating in prepping and doing inventory. The little ones are taking care of the garden with my supervision. Hubby is going to do the heavy work for me today. Team work all the time.
I watch your vlogs and a few other preppers, but I HAVE to avoid the News. I’ll look at headlines, but watching the news pushes my PTSD off the chart! I saw my elderly neighbor going to the dollar store at 10 pm ALONE for toilet paper. I told her it wasn’t safe and to wait just a minute. I filled a bag of tp, paper towels and a few things from my pantry. She didn’t want to accept what I offered. I assured her it wasn’t charity, just a neighbor helping a neighbor. I told her if she needed anything, please ask. I’m not a fan of my HOA, but I wish this HOA would have a group pantry. What my extra could help a neighbor. Has anyone ever done something like the blessing box for an area?
I've had a half a "head in the sand" mentality. I have had to adopt it on a certain level because I suffer from extreme anxiety (medically) and to witness the world falling apart around me just cripples me. I stepped up my gardening, expanded my canning skills, GREATLY expanded my pantry, pulled my kids from public schools. I know what's happening, I'm confronted with inflation every time I open my wallet but I do have to tune out a lot.
We don’t have to watch the news every day to know things are changing and we need to be prepared - I go in and out of seasons where I just don’t keep up because it’s the same noise every day. I think it’s smart to not be saturated with that stuff. Maintaining peace is vital
Just stay focused, move forward. You are doing the right thing. Just concentrate on one or two things everyday. That’s how you do it. There’s only so much you can do in a day. Finishing little goals. Pray. Don’t fear. Just prep. You will be much better off. You got this. Breathe. And take a break if needed. Have some relax time too to unwind.
I think its healthy to tune it out once in awhile, I know I have to! So many things we have absolutely no control over can drive us all insane if we don't watch out.😊
You take care of you. You are doing a great job under increasing pressure. Take a bath, sit in the sun, read, or watch old I love Lucy or Carol Burnett reruns. Laughter releases tension.
Hi everyone. Girl your so right. It's been a hot mess all day with the news. Its nuts but true. I got to that point today where I turn off the phone and shut it down and beg God to take the stress off me. Thanks for what you do. God bless everyone.
The farmers are cutting second crop hay around here. Maybe we will have 4th crop hay this year. My garden is doing great...picked out 1st tomatoes just yesterday!!! Everything is growing well, even the late planted stuff.
I made my first ever run in my AA pressure canner today. Beets....then I made the biscuits for chicken and vegetables. Picked some pickling cucumbers for bread and butter pickles. I'm just staying busy.
We haven't been sleeping well, we catch up in the evening while watching videos! Rewind or just give up. There is so much to keep people on a high stress level. We are now without a Prime Minister - expecting another puppet to take his place. You sound like you have a very nice doctor - getting an appointment with our part timer docs is difficult over here - in some places they don't want to even see patients unless it is by video chat! But on a most delightful, beautiful moment, we have had swallows nesting in our barn. The barn was built in November 2020 (how can you homestead without a barn!) and this is the first time we've had swallows in there and we had to keep the door open, locking them in at night and hubby opening first thing in the mornings! Yesterday the babies fledged and we were able to get up so close to one of them (accidentally - it had landed on the duck food and wasn't noticed until I went to fill the bucket!) and it was truly wonderful. They are now stressing out their parents by hiding in the trees and they have been looking in the barn for them and then skirting the trees. LOL! Nature is a blessing and an escape from the awfulness and for a time, I just flip the switch to get in tune with that instead. Take care of yourselves xx
History repeats itself and we as Americans have become too complacent and time to WAKE up and PREPARE! So many of my friends & family just can't handle the truth and put their heads in the sand. You are preaching what I've been saying for at least a few decades and why I LOVE you and your channel. My husband and I and our daughters in laws have committed to homeschool our grandchildren( so their parents can work) if their private school demands certain things that are not healthy for their bodies, minds...or against Gods laws. Period!
I’m so impressed by your anointing sister!!! Your words are a blessing and a comfort! I’m so proud of you for speaking out!!! You are 100% correct!!! Bless you and your cute fella!!! 💞👍🤟
So glad hubby’s appointment went well. As usual, I agree with everything you’ve said, including the gas. The pressure is being squeezed and released, squeezed and released…
Every can I put away makes me relax more. Before I started I was always thinking about this stuff. I still think about it but not with anxiety. Are we totally prepared No. But you’ll reach a certain point ( everyone different) that all of a sudden peace will set in. Keep on keeping on.
We have to make a 2700 mile round trip from Jacksonville Florida area to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota next month for cancer surgery. Hoping gas prices drop some but praying for my hubby’s health.
I remember back when I was a kid back in the 1950’s when gas was 39 cents a gallon. Thanks, Patera for the encouragement. Planted late but my carrots and beets are coming up. Had to replant bush bean seeds after the rabbits decided to chomp a lot of them down to the ground along with my new strawberry plants. Tomatoes, squash, peppers and sweet potatoes are growing well. The neighbor across the street with a vegetable garden taught me to flick the tomato flowers to make sure they got pollinated. Will be canning as the fruits of my labor come in. Will be making more strawberry and raspberry jam today and apple jelly tomorrow. So happy your husband’s medical visit went well. Keep fighting the good fight.
Got a tip for ya. I did this and it's working. Go to the dollar store and grab some hula hoops. Cut them in half, put a skinny stick in each end. Stick them in the ground over your plants. Now you got hoops to cover the strawberry bed and just need netting over it.

I don’t have the head in the sand mentality but I have tried my best to tune some of it out. I am continuing to prep with the “beans bullets bandaids” I’m working on my first garden. As for you mentioning livin on a prayer. That song played on the radio yesterday and when I listened to the first verse and chorus it hit me hard because that right there is my husband and I right now and i about cried. This world is scary and we all need to work hard to provide for ourselves first and foremost because no one else will. Then we need to help each other and give our lives to Jesus because when He comes back no amount of food ammo and knowledge will help you. Your soul must belong to Him and Him alone. Debbie..thank you for this wisdom. Go's bless
I’ve been homeschooling for 5 years this September! Best decision we ever made!
I’m in it with you!! I’m so grateful too!
We've been doing it for 8 years. I have 3 girls. best decision ever!
@@silvernblack21 Well Done!! Your deeds wont go unrewarded surely xo
I call it taking a "brain break"...necessary at times and then eventually I get right back to prepping.
It's hard. We all need a break now and then. I limit my time watching the news, even the most conservative that I can find. I have to get caught up with my resource storage so that I can find more room. Then will start up again.
Wise!👍🏼
My canning was usually done in the Fall but I started canning this Spring. Chicken, beef, pork, soup you name it. Not the cheapest but it is either gonna get more expensive or non existent. Doubled the garden this year so I will be canning for months. Thanks for your pep talks!
Started canning meat this year and hope I don’t make anyone sick. Some of that meat looks scary in the jar..lol. My brother said he would have to eat it with his eyes closed!
@@IbMomba I've got a freezer full of meat, but if the power goes out I'll be canning meat and hoping for the best. I've never attempted "canning meat". 😬😳

It's called the calm before the storm or distracting us from what their really doing. They think we're fools.
I wonder if geronimo ever felt like that?
Same here. It feels like the calm before the storm.
I am working my butt off gardening, canning, preparing for whatever is to come. My friends and family are traveling, shopping, living in total oblivion. They have said if something happens “I’m coming to your house.” Oh no you’re not! I’m 68 years old and am not taking care of any lazy people!
Same here!
Same here! I have realatives and all they do is travel and want to have fun. They say, we know where to come when the bottom drops out. In that day, they better have something to barter with; gold and silver please. Or they better be ready to work the truck patch. They're living for moments and they can't be quiet about the garden.

Oh my hubby has to crack a joke at my preparing daily. It stings when he does that but I will continue.

I was at my doctor today as well. We had the same conversation we’ve had since 2020- how my anxiety is affecting my health. My doctor said to me “ The world is not going to get better. We need to figure out how we can all deal with this for our mental health”.
I’ve canned 40 quarts of corn and 28 quarts of peaches since Wednesday. Got a counter full of tomatoes, peppers, and squash. Gotta get to getting!
You can NOT tell the world what you have. The WOLVES are ALWAYS watching. So is the government. It IS in the law that in a “food crisis”- THEY can come take what you have.

Great idea
I appreciate your honesty in times like these. I love watching your channel and the wisdom you share with everyone.
Thank you and keep being real!
Same here
We don’t have to watch the news every day to know things are changing and we need to be prepared - I go in and out of seasons where I just don’t keep up because it’s the same noise every day.

Thank you for sharing that beautiful moment from your life with us. We all could use more beautiful thoughts right now :)
Period!
“Everything counts. Stay the course.” Thank you - I really needed to hear that today. 😘

I watch you on a daily basis and even my hubby is telling everyone about you and how wonderful the info we get from you is invaluable.

I pulled my son out of the public school , I would NEVER have my children in a public school ... Agree with all you said 💛
This is going to be my 5th year homeschooling my children.
I never kick a dog. Can't imagine doing such. Handle my dogs with love and respect...
Absolutely, dogs are such loyal and loving companions to us
They are speaking metaphorically. Virtue signal noted.

I love your videos Patara. My niece is like that and a co worker. We start talking and when I'm trying to explain about they need to buy for the pantry . . . both tell me they can't think like that b/c they won't make it. Thanks for sharing with us!
I've heard the same comments myself, the exact same words...
I don’t have the head in the sand mentality but I have tried my best to tune some of it out. I am continuing to prep with the “beans bullets bandaids” I’m working on my first garden. My husband and I are in the process of selling our home and relocating God knows where so the news stories have went on the back burner because I am staying busy.
Keep prepping but most of all keep praying 🙏🏼❤️
