- With the release of the new Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 game trailer let's welcome the return of Sword Experts Drew and Paul, back today reacting to medieval dueling’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Recapping over a variety of moves from the game, the guys take us through each and give examples of how to accurately portray them. A highlight move had to be the spin move which the guys explain is a great accurate in-game example in the first person of how it would actually be executed. We hoped you enjoyed today’s installment of Experts Try!

An open-world action role-playing game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is played from a first-person perspective. Players can take on roles of warriors, bards, thieves, or a hybrid of these roles, using a classless role-playing system. Through branched dialogue trees, abilities and stats are developed based on what the player says and does. As players converse, they take a limited amount of time to make a decision, which affects their relationships with others. Player reputation is a result of choices made by the players.

That mustache lets me know immediately that this guy is the real deal
That mustache can bring any enemy to there knees
100%
@@raymondashleyjohnson1227 Especially when he's a plumber. If you know what i mean.
@@raymondashleyjohnson1227 Gone weak at the knees, have you?
@@greyngreyer5 hell yea did you not?!?!?! Lol
Poor Captain Bernard, we are very grateful to him for sacrificing his health, thanks to which we could see these sweet combinations with the sword!
I don’t do combos I just attack him to gain levels
F#ker! Are you going to cry now?.. No you are😂
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is such a gem!
Yeah. And afaik they are working on a sequel!
Adore that game so much.
@@Raz0rking Hopefully they focus a little more on the game and a little less on sharing stuff other people have made
Yes the game was immensely praised for it's realism, it also uses phot realistic graphics to present the world of 1400, Europe was largely at peace under the Holy Roman Empire due to the church's objection to war and violence, however local wars occurred as well as wars against outsiders
@@shawntipton5078very intresting
Everyone knows that the blade of the sword only exists to nerf the existence of the pommel, otherwise it would be a weapon of mass destruction.
Tbh in plate armor v plate armor sword fights the pommel really was the business end. Blade is pretty much useless as any dude who wants to live will guard his joints from a blade but a 6 lbs cross guard (cross guard in a balanced sword is equal in weight to the _entire_ blade) is a pretty good purpose built bludgeon.
@@simonnachreiner8380 Do you mean to say that 12 lbs swords were a regular sight? Even zweihanders only got to around 9.
Also not sure how dissecting sword sections by weight gonna influence things, you always work with a lever.
@@simonnachreiner8380 how can the crossguard on a 3-4 pound sword weigh in at 6 pounds? Hell, Castille Armory's heaviest longsword pommel is 15 ounces...
But what makes the pommel hit so much harder is that it's usually a solid chunk of steel, with no flex or give, which makes it a whole lot of concentrated force.
@@Klovaneer I reckon Aren is way out to lunch with sword weights. No way in hell quillions or a pommel would weigh in at 6 pounds.
You guys should defenetly do "Tank expect reacts to War Thunder"
War Thunder…
or Girls Und Panzer for the memes
War Thunder would be better. Because most of the time it gets the physics right. Not like WoT where you have hitpoints.
Hopefully they don't leak classified material.
VA's for tanks
And share some secret military information to debunk the devoloper. Oh wait someone did this already.
I would LOVE to see them recreate those moves wearing armor, equipped with shields and so on))
That would be next level
That would cost at least 5k to 6k bucks each to commission a complete suit of plate armor.
@@fransthefox9682 I guess these guys already have all of it ;)
@@shogert2370 Not necessarily. Most HEMA practitioners can't afford it.
@@fransthefox9682 I don't think he meant full plate armour, but their own protective gear used for HEMA practice, the minimum price is $600 (from my basic google research), which is far from unaffordable.
@@user-ck8yl5iy1x I think he meant armor, not protective gear.
Man, this makes me want to play kcd again. Such a great game
One of the few games that give a way more direct sword fighting experience that is not over the top
Ah captain bernard, the greatest punching bag in kcd
Love this game love that you covered it ❤ thank you! The most interactive swordplaying game I've played for sure 😃.
That deflect into a stab is actually in a treaty somewhere. You deflect from a low guard, parry it and move into an ox guard with the thrust maintaining blade contact
Treatise, it's different from a treaty
@@sowpmactavish one learns something new every day on a second language, thanks!
My favorite parry is the one with the shield, where you block the swing and sneak in a headshot. It’s a instant kill with maces and good weapons
Great work, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that you guys didn't bust out the gambesons and masks for this one!
Perfect timing as I started a new playthrough yesterday and was just going through the training (again) just last night
The end montage of all the moves was a rewarding treat for staying till the end.
Dude this is just a really fun game. Trying to play in hardcore will kick your ass lthough. Love it.
If you have them watch and try this again have them go through the Rattay Tournament. Where they choose from Axes, hammers, short sword and shield and of course long swords. They might like they added weapons.
And then random encounter the loser who lost to you in the finals and wants revenge 😂
@@alastorlestat9929 Black Pete that loser lol I left him naked on the road
@@lonestoner8297 Fuck black Peter, all my homies hate black Peter.
I wonder if his body is still behind miller Peshek's house, half naked.
@@Witcherino there was a weird bug which I got where he was standing there next to a trip wire cause I was on my horse it didn’t work and I killed him instantly
@@Poke-ladd Last time I played I was using fast travel but the travel was cancelled at the mill because he was there, however the trip wire didn't work, so I was there in the middle of the night, trying to get off my horse, while trying to not get hit with a sword and trying to use a torch to see something so I could kill him. It was a mess but I was too overleveled for him and had way too good armor, he stood no chance.
My favorite single player game
Its especially fun for us Hungarians as we understand everything the Cumans say 😂
@@vicePVic indeed it's very funny, and they've done a good job with the voice actors.
Loved this video, very calm and methodical. Compared to the others.
You should've let those guys have an actual duel with the game's techniques 😁
So basically a normal HEMA sparring. There are a lot of videos like that.
yeah it's all the same as RL except for using "riposte" and "master strike" interchangeably
As a historical fencer, I love the fighting in this game.
Everyone except Fiorists like their windings and zwerchaus. And don't forget the cinematic at the end of the first act. Mordschlag, anyone?
How do you become a historical fencer? That sounds awesome
@@matiasnyberg5625 find a nearby historical fencing club, and join up. Though, be aware, it'll be quite a while before you feel like you're a capable fencer...
Much longer that it takes in KC:D for Henry to be at least remotely competent and not just a useless potato!
That quick overview of all recreated moves at the end is a cool idea imo. Maybe do it again next time?
I love the little edits on their live scenes with the swooshes and strikes, hehe
Kingdom come deliverance is amazing.
Shout out to the editor on this one. Nice work!
Another detail in the combat is that sometimes, your opponent wont let you keep hitting him, he'll do those counter attacks and those clinches and even dodge. I swear, if I had a penny for every time Bernard stopped me from performing those combo attacks...
yea combo attacks are basically impossible against any opponent that is actually a threat to you. They are possible against really weak opponents. Weirdly enough even peasants constantly block and counter attack a maxed out level 20 swordmanship henry.
@@witoldschwenke9492 Its because of the stamina. Bernard tells you that you have to wear the enemy down before you do any tricky moves. Best is this seen with Runt or Zoul, both of them are hands down the hardest bosses in the game (excluding the old knight you find in Sasau during main quest) and its impossible to perform it on them as they will riposte the last hit if they have stamina.
@@ExtremeMan10 lol hardest in terms of executing combos yes but if u just do clinch - face stab/slash - repeat then they are so easy to beat
Holy crap, I remember Paul Suda from Deadliest Warrior! What an absolute blast from the past.
Kingdom Come : Deliverance both stands on its own and deals with so much untapped potential for the sequel .It is greatly fun with accurate combat and an accurate depiction of early XVth century Holy Roman Empire (Except its depiction of the Church , that sucked) .Can not wait for the next game to bring us even more authenticity , even prettier equipment (The Arming Swords in this game were kind of short and ugly) and places and even better storytelling .Also , Sword and Buckler needs to be a thing .
Hope they can add some Comission mechanics , to design our own sword , armour and clothing .It would be epic .
they need to add crossbow surely. ancient bohemia is famously for so
They were having issue with crossbows as they take long to load
Wasn’t guns also starting to be used around this time?
@@fayruzzee Crossbows take to long to load and were primaly used in defense. Hussite wars employed crossbows first in Bohemia at large, and the wars started in 1419 (the game even nudges towards it as the in real life the Bohemia in 1403-1419 was heavily "no mans land" in center and to the west, basically all roads were dangerous because of Cumans (yes they were thing for 20 years in Bohemia), bandits and even looters and soldiers.
Nice. Thank you!
The guy with the mustache looks like one of the characters in game
Which one?
Nicely done, fine sire!
All squires are amused!
I would love to see these guys play or react to VR games like blade and sorcery
Hell yeah I asked for this too thank you
5:23 Great Swordsmanship and Dating advice! Thanks man!
I love that all of the combos were shown in that one battle arena as outside of it the odds of pulling any of them off, especially the longer ones, is effectively zero due to how the block mechanics work.
Capt Bernard is the toughest opponent, if you can pull them off against him, you can do them against anybody
Wish I could grow a stash like that. It's glorious.
It even looks like they made the mocap for the game lol
There is a documentary on the people they use to make the combat
Now I feel like playing kingdom come again just for the combat.
Sneaking into a bandit camp.... Henry: IM QUITE HUNGRY 🤤
ME: .... thank god no one heard that
If we go back In time this boys Will be best of best and legends
well this was rly cool :)
I think your videos critiquing the combat in KCD are great. Good on you. I would like to see a video made by you critiquing the 1vmany combat in KCD. Could you, would you, do that?
Spinning moves only work if you’re using a long double sided like weapon. To have offensive capabilities on both sides of the shaft, otherwise spinning just leaves you open. I can only see a spinning move to practically work in extreme circumstances when surrounded.
Drew’s mustache is on point. That must take so much time to fix everyday
You don't see armies fight like this in a movie. Everything goes to shit! Blood, limbs, heads start flying everywhere immediately!
Drew Curtis looks like Johnny Ringo! 😳😁👍👍
Henry has come to see us
This game is heavily underrated, glad to see it get recognition
The maneuvers are awesome to pull off, the developers really went overboard with the combat in a good way
KCD has sold millions, so not "heavily underrrated". More like "not talked enough".
To be fair, this game is infamously known for either one of the best medieval games in this generation, and also the hardest mechanic game out there. But man, I can't say Im not enjoying my time on this game. *MASTERPIECE*
@@ero-samairianto625 I definitely agree, I’ve yet to see a game that does a “pathetic nobody to overpowered knight” in such a satisfying and/or realistic way. The game is NOT something you can rush through, it requires you to practice and take your time and I think that turned off a lot of casual gamers. I do have some complaints (like most of the quests, both side and main, making you have to jump through hops) but I’d agree it’s a masterpiece
@@ero-samairianto625 I think that actually being a historical fencer might have helped me with that game. The feeling of measure and timing is the closest to the real thing I've ever seen in a game.
Agree I stared during hema about a year before the game dropped
Captain Bernard: Well done lads!
I wonder how much overlap there was with technique between Germany 🇩🇪 and old Czechs 🇨🇿 (Where this game takes place).
I asked the studio, way back when, when they were sending their updates/hype videos. They are using techniques from the Liechtenhauer tradition through and through.
So far as I know, there are no extant fechtbuch from Bohemia, but men-at-arms tended to travel, especially the ones going from contract to contract, so wherever they learned to fight would travel with them.
You should do ER doctor react to for honor executions
It appears KCD combat is way more realistic than I thought
amazing
Btw they aren’t doing the initial attacks for a fakeout, that’s just how you initiate combos
I kinda want to them play around in Blade and Sorcery
I commend you on the majesty of your moustache, Ser Curtis!
Jokes aside though, looks so thicc he must be using a chainsaw to fucking trim it
Man I remember getting the platinum for this game, the save system sucked but everything else was amazing
This is my kingdom come.
A spin move, hahaha very funny, great 👍 video
Kingdom come deliverance is my favorite game of all time.
It is difficult to see, which I can understand why he misread it. But on 5:47 he is actually stabbing his opponent underneath his shield while pushing with his shield.
Blade and Sorcery is right up their alley
You also could have shown them the third person fight with mods and with the tournament
I'll try spining that's a good trick
Well, I have to be the guy who's gonna point out how much Paul looks like Hans Capon in the game?!
That's a nice mustache he's got.
One game a legend KCD is a true magic game
an interesting thing about this game is some enemies don't fet tricked by feints or bait, so some combos doesn't work, and you have to tire them out, sometimes nothing works and you just gotta run, which is cowardly.
I never do any combos, it's mostly just hit the other guy(s) a lot and perfect parry & riposte whenever they attack.
I need a spec ops and marines react video
anyone who complains about spin moves doesn't know how to use them. they are 100% situational and effective, like everything in sword fighting.
KCD is awesome.
7:53
I don’t think thats how you do it…
You’re supposed to walk while pushing. Not stab.
I don’t think that move is meant to cause damage. Just block and get some ‘’distance’’
It would be easier to do with another considering its meant as a block move
Edit: 8:15 And there you’re supposed to have your enemy end up behind you. Not in front :P
Legendary game
First 10 seconds, ingame they pommel strike; practitioners punch. I see how this vid is
this game is really fun but oh man the mechanic is so hard. I've learned the mechanic but then i stopped playing for a month or two and now i forgot how to play it
Can you get Dr. Wagner to react to all For Honor executions?
By tej way how you rating combat in this game ?
So experts recreate moves that were mocapped by experts?
Yes
I never managed to land combos. Every time I strike, the opponents just perfect blocks and counters. (The slow motion thing). So how can I do combos if this happens every time?
training with bernard was always nice, if it wasn't for that damn picklocking this game would be a masterpiece...
I'm playing on PC, so its not that hard for me ..
I own this game but it's really difficult to even pick up and play. I really want to learn how to play this game.
The game is all about armour. It's super difficult early on, but soon as you get good armour, you can screw up all day and still win 1v5s.
Personally, I worked on being an amazing thief, and stole a bunch of great armour. :P
@@Danceofmasks honestly not even so much about armor, it definitely helps but the most important thing is training just like irl, train relentlessly with Captain Bernard until your stats go up real high and you get stronger clinches and learn how to parry, counter and stack combos. You'll start moving so fast, strong and refined with your attacks and defense that you could easily fight off 5 well armed Cuman barbarians in just a linen shirt with a chipped, rusty longsword at your side (speaking from experience lol)
@@JazzyRiot79 you're talking about how henry ends up being.
i'm talking about henry a few hours in, having never seen much real combat, having stolen some top tier armour and beating guys with 20x his skill.
@@Danceofmasks that's realistic, yes ?
He can barely cut a branch with a literally new sword, let alone performs parries, combos, or even kill someone.
He has to learn. Want to read ? Learn.
That's the beauty of this game
The only thing henry didn't seems to interested in is learning how to swim
@@Danceofmasks yeah you can do all that just a few hours in, literally all it takes is getting to the point where you duel with Sir Hans and then boom, unlimited training which levels you up just as fast as regular combat, I was at a main level of 13 with all my main statistics except Vitality above 10 and my combat skills all highly leveled by the time I did the hunt with Sir Hans which is pretty early in the game, annihilated both Cumans during the ambush while wearing no armor aside from a gambeson and took no damage, grinding makes Henry OP very quickly.
Please do space experts watch elite dangerous
What about if you or your opponent is ambidextrous/left handed? How would that change the dynamics of the fight?
You get your ass kicked. The left person is better equipped to fight you and if they have skill they will probably win
I'd love to see these guys react to Assassin's Creed Unity.
Aren't these perfect blocks after you've unlocked the master strikes?
I like this game but its so hard I can't finish the game
Im feeling quite hungry
Well depends on what you mean you shouldn’t keep your hand in front of the blade at all your opponent will just cut it keep it at your side till it can be used is smarter as you won’t have easy openings to be exploited from
It depends on the swords
Racers react to racing games when?
Sword experts react to chivaly 2
Haven’t looked this up, but her HAS to be Henry Cavill’s double right? For fallout or whatever he had the stash.
Не знал, что Лапенко занимается фехтованием🙀
This game is hard. But it is really fun when you master yourself.
In this video and the for honor video I keep having the feeling like they are "shy" when recreating the moves it feels slow and weak specially in the for honor video at least compared to when the martial artists or the samurai experts try the moves specially when compared to the samurai experts tried ghost of tsushima moves. Idk I could be wrong but maybe they can look more enthusiastic when trying?
