This has got to be one of the best "unscripted" player setups in any game I've played. The way you've carved a position into the huge game universe that was never intended by FD is amazing. It would be fantastic if Frontier somehow managed to acknowledge you more than just putting you in the newsletter (like creating you're own decal that would only be given out to Fuel Rats). Here's to the next 2000 fuel runs!
There are now in-game adverts for the fuel rats (I saw one today), but not many people look at the ads anyway. And I know they do have a ship decal as well. But this is four years on from your comment, and the rats are still hard at work saving commanders one limpet at a time.
Once we where blockading a system and on of those rats came in, claiming to be heading to the station to get his refuiling ship for an emergency call. We led him trough the blockade safely just because Fuel Rats are awsome!
We always appreciate the respect for the work we do! I know I was stopped by a CODE blockade once in Cemiess on my way back from a rescue--since I had some residual limpets, I handed out what I could and went on my way! imgur.com/zX0KDfy
Been extremely lucky as far as fuel is concerned. Thought I was going to have to call the Fuel Rats after being cornered at two different stars by npc pirates. Ended up on fumes at an unscoopbale star in a cluster of unscoopables. Was down to about a three light year jump range on my tanks. Then remembered a Fuel Rat saying I saw awhile ago. Dont panic you waste air. After I calmed down I started targeting stars until I found one that was scoopable and in range just barely. So I credit the Fuel Rats for getting me out of that one alive and well. So thank you for all you have done and will do directly and indirectly.
It's the fuel rats that restores my faith in humanity sometimes. I have never played this game but some day I will and I'm at ease knowing they are out there. o7 thank you Rats.
You guys are absolute champions, The FuelRats saved me when I was new and stupid and didn't know a fuel scoop from my asshole. The best most friendly players in the game.
When I first heard of the fuel rats I thought they were an NPC thing, but once I learned that they were all players, and that they did this for free, I was pretty amazed at how great of a community ED has. Keep up the good work!
I'm "new" (lots of hours but still only scratched the surface) to ED. Found it on XB1. The more I've learned and researched over the last couple months the deeper I get involved in this game. The Fuel Rats, by far, have to be one of the coolest damn things and communities within any game and gaming community. To me, it brings even more immersion to the galaxy and each instance whether I play in open or solo. P.S. the narrator needs to record a demo and try to get into voice overs. What a legend.
I've been rescued tonight by these guys and all I can say is they're fantastic! So friendly and fast to your position, as a new player the advice he gave me and help was second to non, thanks guys. subscribed :)
fuel rats have got to be some of the coolest people out there, not only did they make 911 in space but they made it in a coordinated way that actually means most commanders are rescued, that’s super cool
I've yet to need a fuel rat in my travels, but thankfully there are fellows such as yourself who do this out of the kindness of your heart. Good luck and Godspeed in all your future endeavors fellow commander.
It's been years and I've only started playing half a year ago. Fuel Rats should really get 50 mil per rescue, saving players from accidents (that sometimes isn't of their own doing) is a noble cause.
It`s great what you are doing. I stranded once in my Eagle Mk.II but I didn`t know about the Fuel Rats at that time. Now I got a fuel scoop in all my ships to be able to help myself. ;-) Fly safe, Fuel Rats!
When you're new to the game (presumably, since they said they'd learned their lesson) and run your ship out of fuel, and you end up on RUclips as the Fuel Rats' 2000th rescue. Must feel pretty awesome.
This is one of the highest quality videos I've seen in a long time; In the best way possible: content. Fancy intros and great editing are no substitute for a solid script and excellent delivery.
I was fortunate enough to have had a friend advising me when I started Elite, the first piece of advice I was given was to never fly without a fuel scoop. Of course, I still almost ran out, after leaving the starter systems in my cobra. I made it to my home system with like 6% fuel, and my internals cooked pretty good
Some of the best guys on E:D, Nothing worse than being stuck with no fuel in the early game stages or even the later.. Watched you guys from the start of the Fuel Transfers being back in .. you rock!
First of all: I love what you're doing and hope you keep doing it. I haven't needed your services yet as I ran out of fuel once in the beta and have gotten very proficient in the use of a fuel scoop, but if I ever do I'm glad you're there. Second of all: Great voiceover. :D Third of all: I love the fact you're using a Raptor: Call of the Shadows remix.
The triple threat! I was definitely feeling some Raptor this week, so Stone McKnuckles' jam fit the bill (though there's a good chunk of shreddage I set aside for a future combat video), with the slower electronica of Smokazzi's mix having good pacing for the outro.
I salute you and your fellow rats, good Sir. You saved my friend yesterday and I'm sure someday I'll need you guys too. Might have to join your ranks myself. You make a daunting and challenging game for noobs a little less intimidating to step into and explore.
I have heard of the FuelRats and the great service they provide the community, but this was great to actually see it in action. Hope I never need your services, but it is comforting to know you guys are out there :)
Recently got saved by CMDR Elysiumchains after I ran out of fuel on my way through an access corridor while rushing back to a station to refuel. I send him my regards.
I dont play this game but I'm down the rabbit hole of Fuel Rats following a Fuel Rat Killer video.... this is totally amazing! What a great thing to do!
These guys rock! I almost needed their help once when I ran into a patch of nonscoopable stars. After that I always make sure my route has types A,B,F,O,G,K,Y applied to my route in the Galaxy map.
Fix your routing. Class Y star is a brown dwarf and unscoopable, you probably meant class M. Use the following examples to remember main sequence stars (scoopables) KGBFOAM or OBAFGKM (with the phrase "Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me").
I know this is an old video. but you guys seriously saved my ass last night and I really, really appreciate it. I'd like to give back, so I've considered becoming a fuelrat myself.
you guys are heroes. the first time i heard about you i thought it was a scam... because IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. but it is true!!!! you guys are awesome.
Great vid, and a GREAT service you provide, especially for new players who don't realise the distance they may have to travel I have only ran out of fuel once, when i bought a new ship and was flying it back to my home system. The jump computer said i could make it, it lied! So my mate fueled me, laughing at my mistake.... i payed him back a few hours later when his FDL ran out, totally... and he had 1 min of life support left. He didn't laugh that time :P
And now I know about Elite: Dangerous. Thanks for sharing this! Looks pretty interesting. I like adding that extra layer to the game, becoming an organization.
I once was in a case red scenario. Had 4 rats coming to my rescue. Sadly my oxygen had ran out by the time they got to me but that was my fault because I panicked and didn't log out to the main menu fast enough before contacting the Rats. Anyways, keep up the good work Fuel Rats!
@@whiteplasy6853 aye, but if you've got guardian FSD booster you've definitely got better ships. I guess my question should have been "why" more than "how"
@@NickHunter For a lot of players: because it is there. Want to go to Colonia? Why not use an unengineered Viper? Yes, I have seen people do that. But not without a fuel scope of course.
I was rescued as well. I was in my Python and didn't have much money. All but life support was shut down to preserve the reserve fuel and the cockpit was frozen over. I heard that jump from supercruise and I was amazed. I have many ships and much money for emergencies now and most of them have fuel scoops. I learned a good lesson that day. XD
great vids well setup and RP'd... and dude you got an awesome voice, I almost don't believe you are an actual player and not some paid voice actor or announcer.
Lost about 2mil credits once because of a fuel loss, before I knew about these guys. Wish i have know there was people actually willing to rescue people.
As well as saving me the cost of an insurance purchase I also kept all my exploration data which was more important and would of surely resulted in me smashing up the pc.Great stuff fuel rats, you deserve your own minor faction or something like that.
this is RP at its best and its so functional and cool. :D really appriciate what you guys are doing and i hope future updates benefit what you have created: yes! you created a in game service! Id hope to think you can do exchanges somehow later on in future patches for one :D
I feel safe already! though I think getting away from a low fuel emergency situation is actually one of the most immersive parts of the game. (dying count as well, but it sucks)
The narrator has the perfect voice for it. This guy should be on the radio! :)
+ORYG1N - Variety Gaming Channel He sure does have a smooth voice.
ORYG1N
he makes it sound so epic to be a fuel truck.
Agree 100%. This guy's voice is awesome.
I thought it was William Strife aka Linkthe1st
This guys voice tho!

CODE in EvE is also shit lmao
Rats always get top Priority
I don't actually think it's physically possible for that narration-voice to be more epic, which is fitting to the equally epic work of the Rats!
Seriously, you need to narrate stuff professionally. Your voice is silky smooth, man.
I could see him narrating videos for off road truck equipment, like Rough Country
It reminds me of Rocket, in Lego Drome Racers.

I wonder has there ever been a time were a fule rat needed a fule rat because it ran out of fule lol 😅😅
