If you are on a silicon machine, you just can’t install it, before installing there is a video online in RUclips that you have to do before installing any universal audio products, You have to go and recovery mode and allow some security. I have a MacBook pro M1 TB4. I cannot get this to work. I have installed and then uninstalled the software then reinstalled again and it never takes me to where I can finish the registration process so Luna won't open for me. Also, now I'm getting no power to the brand new Apollo solo. No lights at all. I just wanna make music man. This is impossible. Update:. Don't know why this worked but it did. I attempted to register the new Apollo Solo as an old device. It kept taking me back to the new device window, but the I hit the authorize plugins button from the Meter and Control panel for the hundredth time, and it said successful and brought me to a new page to finish the registration process. Thank God.

I have Mac Mini M1 how can I get my Apollo Twin MK2 Quad Thunderbolt to work on Big Sur.I call Apple Care but they can help me that my Apollo Twin to work but it work on my Win10 and my Mac Mini 2012 without no problem.Only on my new Apple Mac Mini M1 is not working.
This interface can ONLY be powered FROM a THUNDERBOLT 3 out port from your computer. if your computer only has TB 2 ports, a TB2 to TB3 cable/adapter WILL NOT work, as the Solo is bus powered and needs the right amount of voltage to operate. Check your computer ports/ manuals, etc before purchasing this unit. Great unit.
@@TellyRemande you can look for a Apollo twin instead. Your situation is based off of the lack of power the ports on your computer provides to “bus power” the interface. If you have something like the twin (its just about the same unit and with two more outputs) you wont have to worry about powering the unit with your computer, as it already comes with its own power plug. Physical compatibility issues between the Twin and your current computer can be fixed with a simple Thunderbolt “dongle” or “adapter”. Hope this helps✌️

From what I’ve read no. It’s just an extra input + more plugins accessible.
For me that’s why I chose the solo, just for the mic preamp

I did some research, but it’s still unclear if I could apollo twin or apollo twin mkii on my thunderbolt 2 port.
It will not. It's powered by TB3 and TB1/2 do have the juice to do it and the adaptors do not pass it through.

You cannot. Solos are powered by the TB3 port, TB2 can't do it.

There is not. Solos don't have digital expansion ports.

Oh sure, any TB3 UAD device (Apollo 8, x8, Sat) can power your Solo and expand your system.

Thunderbolt 2 ports are not compatible unfortunately, you'll need a computer with Thunderbolt 3 or 4.

Those adapters wouldn't work in this case, since the Apollo Solo requires TB3 bus power and can't be powered by a TB2 port.

No, Apollo Solo requires a native TB3 port since it is powered by that port. TB2 doesn't have the juice to do it.
