Warm reminder: Long-term vegetarians should not eat five types of pungent vegetables: onion, garlic, leek, scallion and coriander / (Xingqu) Asafoetida
Vegetarians do not eat meat, so the stomach is not as fatty as meat eaters. Onions and garlic are more stimulating foods, so if vegetarians eat onions; garlic and other stimulating foods, it will harm the stomach easily. Five pungents are foods produced by the incorrect qi of heaven and earth that are heavy in taste and poisonous, and can damage the internal organs if eaten
1 Garlic: injures the heart and fire energy, and the mind tends to be scattered and unsettled when eating too much.
2 Onion: injures the kidneys and depletes water qi; eating too much of it makes the emotions unstable and unsettled.
3 leek: injures the liver and restrains wood energy; liver fire is easily provoked and hurts the emotions.
4 Allium: [xiè] injures the spleen and traps earth qi; the spleen and pancreas are often troubled and depressed.
5 Xing Qu: [xiè] injures the lung by shielding the golden qi; lung strain often leads to a pessimistic state of mind.
If we eat these pungent vegetables raw, they will make us angry, and we will easily grow in anger; if we eat them cooked, they will encourage lustful thoughts. They will encourage us to commit all kinds of vices such as killing, stealing, lust and delusion.
