    Winners choose Lectrons because quality, innovation and design make these motorcycle carburetors superior to any others available on the market. Provides better throttle response, power and fuel economy. Using this metering rod technology, Lectron’s carburetor is able to self-adjust to changes and conditions that would otherwise negatively affect your air-to-fuel ratio and cause poor performance. With the Lectron, changes in condition like temperature, elevation, and humidity have almost no effect on the performance of your bike. The Lectron carburetor will still provide full power, smooth power delivery, and reliability that will seemingly never change once it’s dialed in.

    Put one on my 2002 CR 250 which I was chasing the jetting constantly and it works like Magic. Just made a 1/4 turn leaner on metering rod and that's it. like a whole new bike.

    How am I just now hearing about this? These carbs should come stock on 2 strokes. No need for the complications of tpi with this carb

    It's a pretty rad carb. I have one on my YZ250. It increased my fuel economy and made the bike run smoother. I like Keihin carbs, but this is my favorite and in my shitty opinion, the only carb to run on a two-smoker.

    ok I'll give a little history here on my 17 tx 300 have been struggling with jetting. Done the air box mod filed the slide replaced the reeds and cage but still could not get it right. So i put a jd jet kit in so much better but still not right but works great no real complaints. I figured it was the best it could be and i was fine with that. But Ive been having problems finishing some 2hr race on a tank of fuel so a friend of mine bought a lectron carb and loved it and tried to talk me into but i wasn't going for it. I'm happy with my bike until i seen the fuel consumption differences it's huge. We can go on the same 2hr ride and I'm almost empty and he still has at least 3/4 of a gallon left. That sold me so i bought one but not only does it save gas but ran amazing huge difference and another awesome thing is at any given time i can go out and hit the starter button and fires right up with out even pulling out the choke. By far the best mod.... money well spent.

      Billy211 Beer211 sweet but if u never need the choke and u did before ur prob a little on the rich side and can still run better , lean it out another quarter turn and u will be really happy!

    I have been running Lectrons for 6 years now. Set once and forget. 1k to 11K elevation no changes and running great. My '17 TE150 loves the Lectron. My typical ride starts at 4K and most of the ride is then above 7K to 9K. Always struggled getting a standard carb to run well from start to finish especially the small bores. I spend at least 2 weeks every summer riding above 9K and make no adjustments. I might tweak the idle a fraction of a turn higher at higher elevations but I certainly don't have to.
    Read lots of commentary of riders struggling to get the stock Mikuni to work well one day to the next on the '17 TE150. I didn't even try as I switch out carbs before I waste any time with a standard carb. I just ride now and have spent a total of maybe 30 minutes adjusting the Lectron to my satisfaction.

    I put a 38mm lectron on my 2014 250 SX. I went with the 38 as opposed to the 36 so as to have a bit more H&H style power delivery. I noticed the bottom felt softer (as expected with the 38), but with that said, on my test track with jumps out of corners, it was actually stronger. I feel the softer feel of the roll on is a plus, for it keep the power from wicking on too hard ( its a SX), and actually grabs and tracks better. I had to adjust the metering rod 1/4 richer as I felt lean surges when rolling off throttle. What I notice most, besides fuel consumption, is no matter what speed, If you dump the throttle, it will build power and never bog. I hate to use this term, but very "four stroke like". It self adjusts with elevation as promised. I personally think the lectron is a must buy, for where I live (western Colorado) your ride can be from 4500 to 12,500, and it does the job well.

    Just bought a Lectron from RM for my 2016 Beta 300RR Race edition after getting frustrated with constantly messing with jetting. I live in Utah and my riding could range from 4200 to over 10000 feet in a single ride.
    My first ride without adjustment was very impressive. Pulled like a freight train through the mid and wanted to keep going. While it too seemed a little rich it was still better than my best jetting on the stock carb.
    I leaned out the metering rod a half turn and seems much better. Can't wait to run back up to Skyline to test it in the higher altitudes.

    I have lectrons on two different ktm 300's. they both run great in a wide variety of temps & altitude. I have about 100 hours of time on the one lectron & the fueling definitely improves as the carburetor components wear in. I am a believer in this product!

    I’ve got the 38mm HV kit on my 2015 300 EXC to cope with the large temperature swings on a day’s riding in the desert. It just works. Great piece of kit. Crisp power delivery even in the sand, doesn’t load up and bog sapping momentum like the stock carb does. Recommend.

    Just got mine for my 2003 rm250, The original keihin on the bike was an absolute pig to jet right in any enviroment, Always bogging low down and dirty at the top end
    I have been out with the lectron on today and all i can is Smooth Smooth Smooth, Very noticiable bottom and mid range changes with no hesitation at all with a clean top end, Goes through the revs range much cleaner. I barely had to alter the idle if anything turn up a tad once warmed up.
    Fitting it was a dream no alterations made to either of the boots.
    It was most noticable i found on woodland riding in low down revs 1st and 2nd gear stuff so clean!.
    Looking forward to getting it on the track this week here in the uk

    Just put my new lectron 38mm HV on my 2003 KTM 300exc and it is a different animal now. I thought I had the jetting pretty close but now that ive felt what it can really do I have to learn how to ride it all over again. So smooth and only had to adjust the idle. Will be trying a 1/4 turn richer on the metering rod only because I don't have a fan on my 300 and it was getting a tad bit hotter than usual in the gnarly stuff today. Super impressed with the way it runs and how easy it is to just install and go riding

      @@rmatvmc I bought mine from Lectron but I tried to leave a review on RMATVMC.com but for some reason the lectron wouldnt show up for my 2003 KTM 300exc. It only goes back to 2006. I cant see why it would matter, from what the guys at Lectron told me, the 38mm HV is the same for pretty much any 250cc or bigger 2 stroke. They said the one I put on my 300 would work for my 98 CR250 with a small adjustment to the metering rod, maybe. It just seems to me that someone with an older bike might benefit more from the Lectron and the reviews of the people who have purchased and tested them on older bikes. Thanks for your time. P.S. put another small ride on the Lectron today and I still cant believe I'm riding the same bike. It's like night and day, really opened the 15 year old big bore 2 stroke up. Cant recommend them enough

    If you find the Lectron a little rich at altitude, that could mean you could go a little leaner when at lower altitudes and then the climb to the heights will be better. I have a 36mm on my Gas Gas EC250. All I did was to turn the metering rod a quarter to a half turn longer (leaner). I was also running a little rich in more open throttle positions at altitude. This is adjusted with the power jet. A quarter turn leaner and it was good from 1200 feet in Phoenix in the summer to 8000+ feet in Flagstaff.

      Between the 300XCW and this, it would be a hard choice. But I'll tell you what, man, that 150 is sooooo much fun. If you want light, then I'd go with the 150. It still has plenty of power and will handle any trail the 300 could. Just won't have the top speeds of the 300.-Chase

    Is it the sain PIA to install as it was with 2015 Husky? It took me one bucket of blood and ttwo bucket of tears to install Lectron on TE300 , and then another 10 buckets of both when I have changed my VForce 3 to VF4. (and all the youtubers did not say a word about thech issues, just Plug and Play, bro !) BTW, I had some issues with jupms and bumps with this carb, it seems to be catching turbulences after heavy hits and for a second or so does not react on wide open. But my mileage on went up from 50 km/tank to 75-80 km with Lectron

    I put this on my 2017 KTM 250 XCW. My engine runs perfectly from bottom to top. Very crisp throttle response. The only issue which I have is a hanging idle. In any condition, elevation or temperature, when you chop the throttle, it takes 10-25 seconds for it to return to idle. I spoke to Lectron directly and they didn't seem to have an explanation or an answer. Apart from this, the Lectron is so much easier to use then the traditional carburetor.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    • @hoptard
      @hoptard 7 лет назад

      yes, hanging idle usually lists as a lean symptom...I don't think Lectrons are set perfect from the retailers, there can be more Rod adjustment than expected. I'm in same boat as you, I have the '17' 250xcw and 150xcw both with Lectrons. The 150 is being more finicky with the Lectron than the 250, thought the smaller bores tend to load up a bit easier. 150 is an interesting bike, can be lugged pretty easily in Texas terrain, and obviously ripped on as well...so have to find that happy medium Meter Rod setting.

      Thanks for the reply. I have tried both richer and leaner and did not notice any change. Lectron had no specific answer either. Apart from the hanging idle, the bike runs flawlessly. Hopefully, Lectron will figure it out and offer advice. I want to get one for my son's Beta but am hesitant to have the same problem.

      recently read somewhere, after sending the above msg...that lightly applying/buffing some metal polish to the slides (making them smoother, cleans them up) will cure the idle hanging as well....makes sense, as people are doing it to their Mikuni's and Keihin's slides with results....it's only a thought not a guarantee, going to try it on mine though.

    • @arizonarider9120
      @arizonarider9120 7 лет назад

      Thank you. Are you referring to polishing the metering rod? Or the actual slide the metering rod is attached to?

    • @hoptard
      @hoptard 7 лет назад +1

      only the slide...
      I cracked mine open to adjust back from lean to stock setting at 2.008 because I changed my premix back to 50:1 (oil mfg recommendation) from 36:1....opened the carb and there was condensation/water inside on the slide, not good (with 93 ethanol). I just today started using 110 mixed with 87 ethanol free gas (to 96 octane) with the 50:1....ran great today, plus should eliminate the condensation. Here's an older article about the Lectron, idle hanging and the slide... www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14515&page=8

    Would you believe this carb is maybe better suited for enduro riders or could you do everything with this? motocross, yard putting, what ever. And, is this carb designed for significant temp/altitude changes? or minor changes?

    • @2wheels4life27
      @2wheels4life27 7 лет назад +2

      it works well for any type of riding all its doing is basically giving u a really well jetted bike at lots of different temp and altitude changes , why would it matter what type of riding u do lol

    • @2wheels4life27
      @2wheels4life27 7 лет назад

      from winter to summer all I do is go a quarter turn richer or leaner that's it, takes literally 2 min, and it can go fro sea level to 10 000ft with very minor changes basically a quarter turn too, 0 to like 5 000 ft u don't even need to touch it whn u start getting higher like he did just do quarter turn and should be good , very quick.

      this carb is designed just for that! It's ideal for riders that make significant elevation changes on their ride. It will adjust for just about anything.

    Right on Chase!! You are a rider!! I'm actually thinking of getting this bike. I'm a lot older almost 60 year old desert/trail rider. This bike will replace my old KTM 300. Thanks for reviewing the carb and bike. I really enjoyed the video.

    on the ktm's the air box is different and makes installation very difficult so you have to order a new intake manifold that is shorter from electron because the electron carb is longer but on the husky's it goes right on with no problem

    • @shanemunden7746
      @shanemunden7746 7 лет назад +1

      No you have to change it. At least on the 2017 300XC forcing it on with the original intake deformed the air box enough to make the filter not seal properly.

    put one on 09 ktm 300 xc had trouble with leaky float after many hour got lectron to send me new float assy then ran well after adjusting needle a few times main problemis choke location is unreachable its next fto the pipe on inside so you cant reach it had to rig a wire to operate it mickey mouse it bike does run crisp and never needs any fooling around now the choke thing sucks though

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 лет назад

      I agree on the choke thing. It's in a weird spot and doesn't make a whole lot of sens to me. But I'm sure the guys at lecrton had a reason for the placement. Maybe with the carb design, that was the only real option for it? Glad to hear you got that issue taken care of and it's working well for you. Thanks for watching!-Chase

      We don't offer them, yet. Go check out Lectron Carburetor's website. They are available. We are unable to stock them due to "all carbs are built to order and have a 1 week lead time". These carbs are sweet!

    Is there any disadvantage to a lectron?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 лет назад

      The only "disadvantage" i can think of is the cost. They are definitely more expensive than a jet kit. However, from customer reviews and comments below and on the product page, it is hard to find a customer who is extremely happy with the performance. If you have a specific question, you can ask them directly on the product page as well. Cheers~Chase

      Hi *Paul Laverty.* We looked into it. It ended up being a little more complex than we intended to inventory these carb kits and where they are all built to order and have a 7 day build time. I'm hoping in the near future we can work out the bugs and bring on all Japanese manufactures! :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us sir.
