I’ve heard a lot of about this anime and as a big fan of Zeta this really feels like something I could get into

You dont need any gundum knowlege its its own Universe/Timeline. The only Gundam that has that problem if you want to know all the stuff are shows in the U.C timeline wich has nothing to do with this installment others than having mecha and a usally political/war/sociological plot.
Witch from Mercury is more on the light side as far as Gundam Storrys go while i overall enjoyed it it was more in a popcorn cinema kind of way. The Duel system if you think about it even a little serious is so stupid that it melts your brain. Mayhaps its because it strays for the unsally around 50 episodes to develop a storry. On the plus side its not that great of a timecomitment for a Gundam series thogh i doubt it stays with me for years to come as some outstanding masterpiece. What was most memorable about it for me was ist sounds/Musik wich elevated scenes quite nicely.

The point of the duel system's that it's stupid, it's supposed to not make sense and neither is the entire school system. As is Gundam tradition, the point is in the deconstruction of Fascist systems.

This is actually a bit more “lighthearted” compared to some of the other series

Also I find it cute how you pronounce Miorine’s name

I wouldn't say that at all, it's about as abhorrent (in terms of how bad the setting is for the characters) as your average Gundam series.

The funny thing about Gundam is that the rest of the franchise ain't that different from G Witch, but it's usually about men being neurodivergent killing machines instead of a woman like in this one lol
Seriously though, G Witch is very much a thematic return to form for the series and I'm extremely happy that this show in particular is drawing in new fans, there's a LOT to enjoy if you've enjoyed this

It's a refreshing take on Gundam; I liked the late stage capitalistic hellscape and the gay girls; also the fact that the Mecha are all 2D animated

"late stage capitalistic hellscape" is a great way to word it! 😂 and yeah, you're right, it's awesome the mecha are 2D animated! This is the only gundam show i finished completely, so i have no idea if the others had 3D animated mechas.

To be fair, late stage capitalist hell scapes and homosexuality is par for the course for this series

    What does "girl failure" mean?

    • @Cartoonjellywolf
      @Cartoonjellywolf 10 месяцев назад +2

The opposite of girl boss. G-Witch is basically about Suletta growing from a girl failure and into a girl boss :3

it's an online slang term for fictional women who fail at doing things, or could be seen as a 'loser' by others and thus are really relatable and so it's almost become a term of endearment (at least for me). Often the reason why girl failure characters are appealing is because they're flawed characters!! As the other commenter said, girl failure is the opposite of a girl boss. A girl boss is a character that succeeds a lot and is usually associated with having a job/making the money!
      hope this helps! ☺

I liked the first episode, zero I think?
And it ended for me right after. Nothing else latched onto me.

Really you liked this? I tried really hard to like it but it was just so damn boring. I need just a little action and maybe a plot that isn’t so obvious if you’re not gonna give me action

There's action in almost every episode? Some of the franchise's best at that
