      The criteria the Dragons deploy are so random and very often don't make sense. One day they are super critical and nothing is good enough, the other day they just take the deal without any hesitation (where they actually should hesitate). Shows they are just normal people and not calculating robots.

    The issue with all these personalized foods is that they rely on a subscription model that is despised by most customers. Also when a hear a bunch of serial entrepreneurs in one business my bs meter starts going…

      Everyone is looking at it from the wrong perspective and will ultimately fall short lol its not who does something first that wins , even though they often do, its the ones who refine and improve with vision that win always. All these health and wellness and technology startups are jokers.

      What we see is a heavily edited version of the actual pitch. Likely they edited out the pieces where he proved his credibility so to give the impression the pitch was going south and then a last minute turn of events.

      I checked him out. Before starting his company he was global head of a department at a management consulting firm. I work in the same industry. A low six figure salary is quite normal for his level of experience.

    Peter's comments make him sound like someone who has no experience in investing at all. Co-Founder with previous exit buys himself a house? That's a perfectly reasonable thing - no individual could bankroll this themselves. Founders loosing motivation after dilution? My brother, this is why we have preferential shares.
    There's all kinds of red flags here - the founder does not look like he believes in what he's saying and for some reason his co-founders passed on the opportunity to be associated with this on TV.

    raising a lot of other people's money but making no sales... sounds rad, I am all in! I see they have been getting some sizeable investment the past couple years, but also making solid net losses... see if they are here in 2 years

    This company is still active and seems to be succeeding, If (and it's a big IF 😀) I'm reading the accounts correctly they made over £142,000 net income in the six months up-to February 2023.
    Obviously the £150 million pound exit in five years was a bit fanciful but it's always good to see entrepreneurs succeeding.

      Sorry, but you are misunderstanding the accounts. The 142k is what they raised in additional funding, but they lost 116k in trading. In the full year to February 2023 they raised 758k in funding, but lost 334k in trading.

    I actually think this is a really good idea. I can see it being very successful. Similar companies have done very well (e.g. Athletic Greens and Ancestry DNA). Hope this guy keeps going and proves them all wrong.

    not sure but most likely 90 percent of the world is nutritionally deficient and will eventually be taking something like this if doctors promoted it more but when do they ever check your nutrients instead just prescribe you something lol. alot of people take vitamins and supplements but a drink that includes everything you need all in one is very convenient. You're going to need to keep taking them for the rest of your life unless youre fortunate enough to eat all the foods that provide

    The dragons were very smart. If the guy believed in his business he would accept the offer, otherwise he would go to the market chase for some silly investor.

    If this pitch was raised today, I think it would be a lot more successful. The rise in personalised DNA analysis from anything to heritage to diet has exploded.

      Idk.. This was only 2 years ago when DNA analysis was already very popular. I have several friends who recently bought a DNA kit for likely deficiencies like the ones Tej mentioned, but I highly doubt they would order vitamin shakes through an annoying subscription model.

    Other than inserting the word, 'runway' into his remaining cash flow i wasnt impressed at all. He got caught out several times with his presented facts and responses, hadnt done his homework and couldnt get close wealthy friends to invest further. Thumbs down for me all the way. But then to give away 15%, showing a 5 year olds level of negotiation savy😂 im not sure who gor ripped off most on this one
