I took Taekwondo 40 years ago and yes footwork is important. Love the video. Today is one day before my 60th B-Day and placed an order for a beginners Iaito from Tozando. Starting another chapter in my life and away we go.
Thank you Sensei! Love how you explain footwork and body positioning to adapt to a dynamic combat scenario, mirroring real life where unexpected things happen. The lower body positioning allows the swordsman to quickly change tactics on the fly. I really appreciate your lessons, you have given me such valuable dimension to my sword practice!
Great concept. Using other schools of thought to improve foot work and position. Keep up the awesome work. Just brilliant.... Can't wait to try out. Keep safe
OSU Sensei Because I do not have a Sensei to teach me as I am in a very small town, your tutorials are so very helpful. Thank you so much, for sharing your knowledge. OSU!!
I've been practicing Seitei for about 2 years in my dojo and even though it's Iai-DO there's clear techniques of foundation that is applied properly to your Koryu be it Eishin, Katori, Jigen, Ryushin you can bet your form and execution will be more efficient in the sense of saving time to cut, saving space for movement and saving energy by using your body mechanics more. Seite really requires you to pay attension to your body more then the enemy. Which is the -Do or "way" of Japanese Swordsmanship. So the Federation knows what they are talking about. By practicing Seitei we are learning the basic fundamentals of the sword through simulations and kata.

Many of the concepts can be applied to using a pistol. Good foot work and body mechanics equals accurate shots.
Excellent comment, as footwork is important for everything. Thanks for reaching out!
