- Dani ( Florence Pugh ) had the worst boyfriend ever!!! I hate christian so much, I dont know if pele is good or bad cause he give a new family to dani, but maybe he killed her real family, so i'm very confuse right now... Whatever, enjoy the video.
This is only a movie guys and a humor video, don't be mad, I just hate Christian's character not the actor, so pls just enjoy the video and chill lol
P.D. Justice for the bear
Sorry, I didn’t mean to come off harsh before. I know you put work into the video, and it’s very well done. (And it’s totally fine to have a difference in opinion.)
EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE PERSON DEALING WITH PERSON WHO CANT COMMUNICATE CLEARLY FOR ALMOST 3 MINUTES
Yeah, your comment is literally the whole movie
me and my ex
Okay Christian's character is absolute trash, he's done a lot of shitty things to Dani, including manipulation and gaslighting. That doesn't justify his ending of course, but in a way it's satisfying to see Dani breaking free from him and their toxic relationship. But one thing we're _not_ gonna do is blame the whole mating ritual with Maya on him ... he was heavily drugged up in that scene and the cult took advantage of that. We don't know if he would've consented to that if he was clear-minded so it's essentially r*pe. I'm not the biggest fan of the "But if the genders were reversed!"-argument, but in this case I agree, if it was a woman instead of a man, basically standing naked and drugged up in front of a whole group of naked men, it would be more obvious for some people to see how this is coercion. Christian has _a lot_ of flaws and done shitty things ... but this clearly isn't one of them.
It'sVeachieBro i totally agree. i think this movie fucks me up because ive been in a similar situation.
...this might be kind of long, please dont feel like you have to read it (im just venting at this point but it backs up why this movie messes with my head).
to cut it short, i had a horrendous relationship with my ex. i always knew it had to end one day, but i kept making excuses for her. she dealt with depression and i used all my energy to support her, and id feel awful if i left even after i couldnt help. she had also told me her mom got diagnosed with cancer. i didnt know what to do. should i end a shitty relationship while i can and be the asshole? or should i stay and support her but continue a toxic relationship?
obviously we’re no longer together, so im sure you can imagine which choice i made (even though i didnt mean to, shit hit the fan ((for the 100th time)) and she called it off). but its a horrible dilemma to go through. i really dont know if id rather him stay and support her but continue a bad relationship or leave her after her entire family dies but not abuse her anymore. im leaning towards the ladder because no relationship can resolve grief, but still so, so conflicted because they can certainly help. idk. sorry for the rant, its just a shitty situation
@@Veachie Yeah I agree, he was in an impossible situation tbh. Although breaking up would've probably still been the best thing to do, I can understand why he didn't wanna do that - it would've probably been so traumatic for Dani to lose everyone that is important to her at once, who knows what she would've done? I can understand that he wanted to be there for her. But then again, he should've shown more compassion to her in that relationship ... like maybe tell her sooner about the sweden trip or not gaslight her into apologizing for his mistake, or something as simple as remembering her birthday. Idk it's really a difficult situation ... I'm really not keen on Christian's character and I dislike a lot of his choices, but I can definitely understand why he stayed with Dani and he didn't deserve to be assaulted and die like that.
@@bugeater2763 Hey there, I'm really sorry you had to go through that. Don't feel guilty, I feel like you tried your best to be there for her and help her out, but you really gotta look out for yourself too! If you would've stayed with her it probably would've continued like this, which wouldn't have been healthy for the both of you, maybe now you both can move on to happier things in life :) Hope you're better now. Don't feel sorry for telling your story, I'm here if you need to talk about it some more.
@@godsandmonsters4601 thank you so much. i cant even describe how much this comment means to me, i really really appreciate it. im a lot better now thankfully too! thank you for letting me share my experience with you, feel free to do the same thing here. 💖
Pay attention to the visual clues and also realize that the conclusion of the film happens after it ends. A) Pelle murdered Dani's family. B) Dani will also likely be murdered. It's a 9 day ceremony.
Florence deserves 2 nominations to the oscars, one for midsommar and the 2nd for little women
It’s so weird that she got nominated for Little Women instead of Midsommar. Of course she does fantastic in Little Women but there’s no question that her performance here is breathtaking. The Oscars really has it out for horror films I’m getting tired of it.
Sis gets covered in flowers and my guy gets covered in bear guts and fire
(But I honestly think she deserved better he was never there for her emotionally)
all men in the movie were so delusional, poor dani :c
Just a mood fr man:(
Just a mood LMFAOOO she was the most delusional.
He was a dick but he didn’t deserve death
Yeah he constantly gaslighted her and her entire family died, like give her a break
Dani never broke free from Christian because she was never held down by him. Ironically, now she is trapped and brainwashed by the cult.
He doesnt have to hold her down, he manipulated her
@@ecco8 he was not interested in her, he was looking for way to break-up. Therefore, he had no need to manipulate her.
I have a few questions... Pelle invited Dani, but his intention was not kill her??
What would had happened if Dani had chosen to save Christian?
if you read the script of the film, you can understand why he is excited by the fact that she is going too. on the sofa scene he asks her sign (and their cult believes a lot in astrology) and he discovers that her sign is extremely compatible with his, basically as if they were kindred spirits. The plan is not to kill her, but to get her out of Christian so he can have sex with her and get pregnant and be part of the family.
Worst boyfriend in history of cinema
Sorry but I fail to see how he was that bad... i mean the only reason he didn't break up with her is because her family died
@@vlonefilmzzz3880 oh. Well you’re a complete stranger so no need to apologize to me for sympathizing with a narcissistic abuser 🤣🤷♀️
@@vlonefilmzzz3880 he should’ve still ended things and saved her from his gaslighting that’s all he does in the movie is manipulate her and act like he’s some nice guy. He’s far from nice
@@vlonefilmzzz3880 I don’t really see how it’s funny I mean I’ve had the shit beat outta me and been almost killed by guys in abusive relationships I’ve been in. And gaslighting is a bad form of manipulation so it’s definitely not something I want to experience in any relationship and if I do that person is getting cut off. I’m not the only person male, female etc to critique how much of a pos Christian’s character is. There are soooo many people who dislike his character and not all of them have experienced it in real life as much as I have I’m sure. Thanks for downplaying trauma though, cheers lol
Youve never seen Ike Turner??
I am making this question in a genuine and respectful way, I am not trying to be offensive nor I believe I know about psychology and abuse and all that stuff.
Was Christian really that bad? I mean, I think it is known by everyone that no character in this movie deserved what they got and that the cult manipulated Dani. What I mean is, yes he wasn't a very good boyfriend and he didn't show enough emotional support, but like he stayed with her and although it wasn't healthy, I want to remember(I only saw the movie once a long time ago) he did to try and not cause her more pain after the death of her family by breaking up with her. She also seemed to dependant on him and one thing is to seek emotional support from your boyfriend and another trying to use him as your personal psichologist, the other person is also affected by the enviroment and might not have the emotional intelligence to properly help the other person or to endure himself, not neccesarly because he is an asshole but he is not a mental health proffesional ready to deal with this kind of situations. I don't know, I get he was bad but like I feel people just say he should be 100% devoted to her and not be his own person.
Also the sex scene is not cheating as he was in some many drugs he could nearly reach Nirvana.
He was male, therefore bad 🙄
I agree
Most people aren't replying to this bc they don't have a strong argument against anything you said. I actually came to the comments to see of anyone else felt the same way. Glad to see I found at least one
When we were watching the film with my bf, I could SENSE his embarrassment during the shitty men scenes
The fact that this video exists clearly tells about how foolish people are today.
At the beginning I felt sorry for Dani and she was with the londoner pair the only one, who wanted to escape from Hargar. But as longer the film went, I started to feel uncomfortable with her and at the last decision to burn her boyfriend alive I hated her and this shitty cult. Okay, the film shows the point of view from Dani himself and she doesn't know that the cult drives she and Christian apart and doesn't know too that it was a kind of r*pe. (Watch the "kill count" from "Dead Meat" he is explain this very well.)
Christian was a bad boyfriend but the biggest snake in this film is Pelle. He takes his friends to his home to kill them and to get together with Dani. (Sorry btw for my bad english, I am from Germany. :D)
agree on everything you said, people justify Cristian dying all coz of a supposed cheating when in actuality he was drugged and raped and I hate using the gender comparison but if this was a woman everyone would have been in an uproar.
I agree with you about Pelle being a snake but his goal might not have been strictly to get with Dani. Dani is the type of person these cults target. Dani doesn't have a good support system from any of the people in her life, and Pelle knows that. So he's using flattery manipulation to gain her trust knowing that she's in a vulnerable state a common strategy used by these Cults and in Dani's case it unfortunately worked.
Dani's last name Ardor in Spanish means burning. Coincidence?
*Thank you for this masterpiece*
Thanks to you for watch the video
0:24 I died 😂
That cake scene is iconic 😆😂🤣
The comments really show. People are easily fooled into thinking that a Fascist Authprim society is good
Just a mood Female logic. 25 million Jews & Slavs dead < “but they treated her well!”
@@justamood3077 they're also sick people who kill clueless outsiders for their idiotic rituals. Skinning people alive, drugging and raping, burning people alive aren't very idealistic I'm afraid.
@@ape5490 You can't think in real life we support killing people, a movie is one thing and real life is other, separates the movie from real life, and remember is only a movie, but the metaphore of the movie is very good
Just a mood
movies are intrinsically tied to reality, especially in this context where it deals with such a real and serious topic. you can’t deny one and accept the other. no one in this movie deserved to die, it wasn’t a happy ending, and dani was manipulated the entire time through love bombing and other classic cult manipulation tactics. she was not treated well by anyone in this film.
@@crispeefries7272 sad ending everyone ended up dead or miseranle
Pelle here to swoop up Dani-
To me I was surprised that the boyfriend here acts a lot as girlfriends in the real world
He's not even being subtle 🤦🤦😁😁
lmaooo she goes crazy in the end

I founded in a timothee video. But i dont remember
This was a very fun revenge movie. It's STILL my favorite movie ever.

In his defense that maya girl trying to come between them
Aww, poor Christian
1:57 to 2:10 is gold
Thank you for this 😂
Every men in this movie, made me mad :v
Lol even the suicide old man?
@@joshuagregoire9504 Every MEN
Every female in this movie were actually mad and evil…. Lmao dani is disgusting… manipulative asshole
That guy can really write a woman character
I just finished watching this movie and my heart goes out to Dani. Its clear she has little to know support system from anyone who she knows. Probably not even her therapist. Dani is the type of person these cults target. Cults will often use flattery manipulation on people they are trying to recruit to gain trust which is what Pelle was doing knowing that Dani didnt have enough positive people in her life giving her support when she did well or a shoulder to cry on when she was going through tough times. By the end of the movie Dani was completely brainwashed and her new found happiness was nothing but another lie.
Comic sans
Most men have dated a needy, unstable girl at some point so we can relate to him. Christian was weak though, he should've ended things long before her family tragedy.
He wanted to but then Dani lost her family he couldn’t just leave her. I don’t really understand the hate towards the guy he’s done nothing wrong
Christian got raped and he’s the bad guy. lol, okay
how is this a "men" thing? both sexes are equally capable of being toxic
Omg you should watch Diractor's cut it's amazingggg
Yeah i'm gonna watch it, thanks.
"Dani dealing with mens BULLSHIT." The same Dani who forced herself into a group that didn't invite her. The only thing Christian did wrong was not breaking up with her at the start of the movie because of what happened to her, even though it was obvious he wasn't invested in the relationship.
Guys quit being nice to these crazy chicks, afraid to tell theM the truth, and stringing them along for fear of “hurting” them.
They actually cry and act depressed keep you around and literally suck the life out YOU.
Don’t be “Christian”. Rest easy bro
Cry and act depressed? She lost her entire family, you lunatic. The fact that it was another family member that did it made it even worse. Of fucking course she’s messed up. She’s heavily traumatized and depressed. She’s not maliciously stringing him around or pretending. Her grief is very real.
He’s stringing her around and hurting her more by not breaking up with her. It never occurs once to Dani to break up with him, as she’s blissfully unaware of her boyfriend’s feelings. She isn’t a mind reader. He needs to communicate what he is feeling to her. His own friends tell him as much.
Christian was the best character in the film. Dani deserved to be in the temple.
ewwww disgusting
@@justamood3077 You literally say a guy deserves to be burned alive after he was drugged and raped. I mean, sure he was a bit of an asshole, but there is something just wrong about continuing to bash someone after they got raped

Lol. He doesn’t love her and she loves him. That doesn’t make him a villain. He stayed with her because her parents and sister died. He’s a good dude. She’s a clingy little nit-wit.
We know its you Christian idk who youre trying to fool
@@glamglam8347 this bear suit fucking STINKS
Well, it's more than just that. He was never there for her and gaslighted her on top of that all the time. Also, don't forget he chose to stay with her BEFORE he even knew about her family, just because he was afraid "he might regret it later", which to me sounded, utterly selfish and egoistical
@@ocarinaofcry2722 bingo. Cake and eat it too.

Dani manages to be a fucking drag for the entire movie while also playing the victim and make me pity that poor boyfriend of hers. I'm amazed people stand on her side.

@@Kbear-xt9mh your prayer ain't working.
I don't know why everyone thinks he's such a villian. They lack empathy to put themselves in his situation.
Her choosing to sacrifice him even though 2 other cult members volunteered is way way more fucked up than anything he did.
