Saying it’s unfortunate how she was treated is such an understatement!
I was never a huge Britney fan but after reading her book and finding out the extent of the horror she faced starting with at the time of the conservatorship being granted the court had not seen one medical document to say that she needed a conservatorship .
Then reading how her children were wrongfully taken away when she was a new mother thus loosing full custody of her babies (which she had until the conservatorship) her babies were used as pawns to control her, with visitations dangled above her head to make her complacent. Just thinking about the pain that would cause any mother is truly heartbreaking & unimaginable.
Her enslavement (her words) by being forced to work year after year in Vegas making millions which she couldn’t even access & at the same time the court being told she couldn’t function, manage her money or her life is just unbelievable.
Then fact that she was forcefully medicated on multiple medications with NO diagnosis of any condition and after she finally stood up to her family (ie) Her dad she was forced into a dangerous medical facility and put on lithium where she couldn’t even speak! That’s just some of the things that happened to her. So I’m sorry but simply saying it’s unfortunate doesn’t cut it.

I think you are absolutely right, the word choice was I’ll-advised. Even those who ‘now’ realise just how bad Brittany’s life was, still can’t really appreciate the horror and the feeling of helplessness. Like the comment about, she was rich yet lost custody of her boys, which could be interpreted as a slight against Brittany. I don’t think it necessarily is, just their life experience can’t take them to a place where they’ve lost their voice, control and rights and due to abuse and coercive behaviour by loved ones she can’t fight her way out of it. It’s terribly sad. But it’s ok to question things because that’s how we understand 👍

@@CoffeeCrazy Court gave her full custody until the conservatorship when it was automatically revoked with the family court saying if she needs a conservatorship she’s not fit. She wasn’t even allowed her own lawyer by the Conservative ship to fight for her children. That was her father intervening, also to make sure she didn’t have the children.

@@SuperAnnaspanna you’re absolutely right. Most people can’t fathom, and this is there is a misconception in the world that someone in Hollywood and rich has all the control, but the actual fact is that the actors have handlers who control them and agencies who control them so to think that something like this can happen people don’t believe it or don’t want to. I also agree with you a bad choice of words, not that it was meant as anything nefarious, but also when you have a large platform like Spidey, does words have power and minimising something like this it’s not appropriate.

The sad part was that she never hid any of this from the public. She broke down in tears during interviews, was harrassed to the point of breaking, and cried out for help many other times and the public ignored it. Most didn't understand how programming works back then and the media fed us all whatever they needed to for the chosen narrative to stick. I mean, they took her apology to an unborn life, the dramatization of her abortion, and the regrets tied to that and turned it into "she knew she was so wrong and now is apologizing to justin"

If people don’t think the loss of a child in her relationship with Justin Timberlake had nothing to do with alcoholism, they’re wrong.
That loss of motherhood that she probably wanted but did not feel supported is enough for a lifetime of depression.

As someone who was raised by narcissists, I believe that she was brainwashed into thinking that the conservatorship was justified. The way my family had always justified and gaslit me about my abuse, including people I called friends that I myself brought into my life. We know something isn't right and so we disassociate into the person the family aka cult following needs us to be. I wonder how much of her "lack of body language" has to do with trauma coping.
For example: many women in abusive relationships will stop fighting back and completely submit. They will then start coming up with their own validations as to why they allow abuse rather than repeating words from their abuser.
So when Brittany says.. I can't go because there are drugs there, it really reminded me of watching a woman start to make up her own valid reasons why she can't go out, rather than believing it's her partner who is disallowing it. ... aka I want to go but I have made the choice I can't because there may be drugs.
The coping mechanism is so that they don't have to keep lying for someone else. They find their own reasons to comply with abuse so they can live with it.
    Anyhoo just a thought

IMO, that big open mouth smile is her stage/tour training. When she's up on a big stage, with the neatest fan being 5+ meters away, that type of smile is necessary and she just brought that habit onto the show. Basically conspiracy to kidnap involving or directed by a corporation and facilitated by lawyers, judges, doctors, therapists, mental health professionals - people who are supposed to be impartial and protectors of individual rights - and made her a domesticated entertainment servant. Her temperament and personal history made her more vulnerable and ALL of the people who could have or should have protected her were involved in the conspiracy. Having read her book now, this analysis feels completely correct to me.
There IS stress around her going out and partying because she wasn't allowed to do it. The "I'd have to see" comment was DEAD ON because she WOULD have to "ask for permission"
Regarding the comments about her liking staying in, watching movies, hot chocolate, etc isn't because she accepted that this was her life, so much. You hit the nail on the head with the fact that she wasn't allowed to go out. It's also that it's a TRUE statement. She DOES love those things and they're her favorite things to do, but the issue was that she didn't have the freedom to choose to do anything OTHER than that. She had no agency to say "I WANNA go to that party tonight."
It's heartbreaking what she's been through. So many people STILL need to be held accountable for what they did to her, IMO. She deserves all that is good in this world. 💜

Exactly. The details of her life and the level of abusive behavior and coercive control she endured during that 13 years all this mind-boggling. Frankly, I'm astounded she's still sane. Others have been totally broken in less time and under less harsh conditions.
My take on the portion of the video where she was questioned about her nightlife is this:
Britney was forced to stick to a regimented script and storyline at all times, whether when working or in interviews. She was denied access to a cellphone, her circle of friends was completely removed, and anyone else who was allowed to come in contact with her was forced to sign non-disclosure agreement. She was completely isolated and alone.
Britney states repeatedly that the only reason she complied with everything was because they allowed her to believe they had the power to remove access permanently to her children if she didn't "behave" and do what they wanted (meaning her father, primarily).
So, she continued performing, recording, doing appearances, whatever she was told.
Her father placed recording devices in her BEDROOM so he could monitor her activities. Her life was a nightmare.
My feeling watching this was that the questioning was going in a different direction than she was used to, and she didn't have a prepared "script" to answer them. I felt that she was scrambling to answer his questions in a way that would be sufficient to end that dialogue and not have said anything that would displease her "team." I don't think her reaction was related to the issue of going out from a personal standpoint.
Watching Britney from the beginning of her career and being aware of this background, this was my immediate reaction.
      She's a modern-day Judy Garland. 😢

Not a Britney music fan, or a fan of celebrity on any level but, I am a fan of human behavior, and being able to see how celebrities behave has always been a fun study. Britney has always seemed so genuine to me, and just plain GOOD.
Watching the media hurt her has burnt me up inside for 25 years.
I watched that 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer live the Friday night it came out. I was getting ready for work at the bowling alley I bartended at, and i felt so much anger towards Diane Sawyer, my eyes welled up with tears before i even saw Britney start crying. I was trying to keeo my makeup right but that was over the moment they showed Britney breakdown. I felt so much hatred towards that news entity in that moment, and I never watched anything with Diane Sawyer in it again... except later on, in clips exposing her as being disgusting and disrespectful to other woman in interviews.
Long before that, I was in my mid teens watching the paparazzi stalk Britney, lining the grocery store checkouts with 20 fraudulent covers a week, exploiting her on every level and without any shame!! I haven't knowingly opened a TMZ article one time since i first got online. And now it turns out TMZ played a huge part in maintaining her conservativorship and the lies upholding it.
The injustice of the whole thing tears me up. I can't stand a world where people call for her to remain in the conservatorship because she acts a certain eay that doesn't align with their standards and opinions on how she should behave. Shame on those people. And to them i say, what if it was YOU? What if it was your mother, your sister, or brother? What if they had their babies used as pawns in a twisted game of extortion and imprisonment? And what if they were given unnecessary prescription medications, and had their children withheld, when they didn't follow orders? And what if none of that happened but, they were a little quirky and had a different temparment that what is considered the "norm"? Should they have their constitutional rights revoked?? Should they be held against their will by people they didn't even choose, and worked to death to make everyone around them millionaires? Isn't a conservatorship for someone who's unable to care for themselves, let alone run an empire?? Stop saying people should be in a conservatorship because that is one slippery slope. Your human rights are already being whittled away in a regular basis. People need to put themselves in Britney's shoes. Instead, people have an easier time identifying with her captors! That's pretty sick IMHO.
Lets not allow this to happen to anyone else. We need more auditors. We need more people willing to pushback against our government officials, especially our courts and the injustice system. Probate and family courts are dangerous institutions and we need more transparency in OUR courts and government offices. Make a stand any which way you can. Lets not lose our humanity so easily and fight for the rights of someone you might not fully agree with because it could easily be you!

The thing is we knew about the conservatorship when it happened. At least those of us who are old enough to have watched all of this happen. We just didn’t know it was still in place and what her parents said in court documents to get the conservatorship. There’s one hospital in California in particular that is well known for putting people under 51/50 holds. The same hospital that Britney was taken to the night before all of this began with her father.
I’m really grateful for the #FreeBritney movement and lawyers like BJ from That Surprise Witness who donated their own time to dig through court documents and find all of this information out and make it public.

I have a hard time answering closed ended questions like, are you happy or, is life good? There are no absolutes so I can’t enthusiastically say yes to those questions even if I feel the majority of the aspects of my life are good. That’s what I picked up on in Britney’s interview, although that could be my own projection. I also wonder if at that point she really understood how bad things were for her, it can be so hard to recognize when you’re in a bad situation. Anyway, great discussion Spidey!

I just wish she wouldn’t think that she has to show off her body on Instagram. It seems that she was brainwashed to believe that your value comes from being sexy and beautiful…she is a mega talent, who doesn’t need to prance around in undies, or sheer mini dresses, to be valued. I really pray that she can find a counselor that does talk therapy, without drugs. I hope she finds her peace, and her value just being Brittany. I really hate what happened to her.

    • @SidixGuedes
      @SidixGuedes 7 месяцев назад +7

She was groomed her whole life. I think her behavior on social media is an indication that this is all she knows. She was told to be sexy and provocative since she was a teenager, she's free to do whatever now, but it's hard to change something that was part of you for your entire existence. She's still in the proccess of finding out who she really is, what she likes and what she wants and doesn't want to be.

    • @untrazeable
      @untrazeable 7 месяцев назад +3

I agree, I want her to know that she doesn't need to show off her body on Instagram to [insert whatever she needs/feels here]. But you're right, it is probably because she has been brainwashed to believe if you want xxx, you need to be sexy and beautiful and flaunt it. I mean, she is still kind of like a young-ish adult if you think about it, not having been able to "grow" and learn as a normal adult would for 13 or more years. It's like she stopped "growing" at age 26 when she got forced into the conservatorship because she couldn't make any decisions for herself. Like she had to hit pause at the age of 26. Every decision was made for her. She was like a puppet being told what to do and she wasn't allowed to think for herself. Then now that she is out of the conservatorship, her life at 26 years old finally unpauses and resumes in a 40 year old body, if that makes sense. The haters should really show more empathy and understanding towards Britney. I really don't get how some people are so heartless?

Narcissists can be very dangerous. To protect myself, I had to urgently break off contact with my husband's brother.
My husband's sister-in-law also has disgusting behavior and a dishonest character. It was just horror.
There was no contact, only broken contact, it was the only way to get out of this disaster. Corona made it easier to end the contact even faster.
At least I didn't have to listen to any lying sh^t, which is why I avoid their birthday. My birthday has been forgotten several times/always in recent years.
My husband's brother only congratulated my husband, never me. Although he "should"/"must" be there many times when "NOR" contact was present,
well . . . . looked at me more than was allowed for a brother-in-law.
A burden fell from my shoulders because three years ago no forced birthday party was possible because of Corona. I loved the contact ban more than anything.

Hi Spidey! I am a Britney fan and have followed all the court developments, watched a lot of interviews, read the book, etc. and I started following your channel with the HeardvDepp trial analyses. I rewatched this Jonathan Ross interview just a few days ago and was really hoping you’d cover it, so THANK YOU!! I would have liked to get a more thorough/complete analysis however! Brit does a lot of mouth covering in other parts of the interview, she is embarrassed by some things and I could feel her body language shift when she failed at the first beerpong pass for example … she seems very hard on herself there, from my perspective she kind of went from the helpless girl attitude, to the “no this isn’t me I’m better than this” and body language switching into a more competitive/athletic stance, and then back to the playing of a girly part… I thought this was so interesting and exemplary of the dichotomy she must have been feeling about her situation, between the subdued helpless Britney that she was forced to be and the original, stronger character she really has. I don’t know if you could speak to that in a follow-up video or something, I really felt like I picked up on a whole veil of her character while watching the full interview. Anyway thanks again for your top quality insights as always :)

I forgot she used to display so many characteristics of an open and trusting person--someone who is easily taken advantage of and for whom it might take years to get fed up with a family who insists they're looking out for her, but instead are keeping her from emerging as an adult. My only response, after this, is a genuine, non-sarcastic "Bless her heart."

This is the first actual interview of her that I've seen. And I'll be honest, up till now I've wondered if she wasn't slightly developmentally disabled. She just seemed kind of unable to process things, and then she got so huge, and people manipulated her so cruelly-especially the ones close to her. I've heard that during the conservatorship, her "boyfriends" were actually guys hired by her father to play the part, so she would feel connected to someone.
At any rate, I'm now thinking she's just an average, fairly normal kid who got plucked from obscurity and turned into a money machine. I'd like to meet her and talk with her. I bet I'd actually like her.

❤Another careful, thoughtful effort, so consistently put into Spidey's behavioral analysis, which I really appreciate about this channel. Just one thought that wasn't brought up. What if this interview was the moment Brittney came face to face with the fact that she wasn't allowed her own agency? After all, the questions seemed to have been intentionally honing in on it (without saying it outright). Because Jonathan Ross kept digging at it and she kept dodging it, could this have been the beginning of the end, the place where she started to realize that she didn't feel in charge of her own life - that it didn't seem normal and that she wasn't really as happy as she could and/or should have been?

Part of me wonders if some of the stress Britney experiences when asked if she goes out is just related to her prior (and very public :( ) mental breakdown and her not wanting to be perceived in this moment as being a partier and/or drug/alcohol user by the public. She really stressed not going out as if she didn't want to be perceived as a party girl in any way. I'm thinking a lot of that has to do with the negativity surrounding her mental breakdown and her public image. Just a guess/alternative view. Of course only Britney knows for sure!

I felt how nervous she was in this interview, not genuinely happy. She dodged some questions, but very cleverly, so nobody could find a strong clue. She is very intelligent, more than a lot of people think she is. Very loving and a little bit naive. The latter could be because she couldn't live her life, she was like a puppet in her family hands.
I think at this moment, even with how her father and extended family used her for several years, she spoke about her parents without negative feelings at the interviewer questions because she is such a sweetheart deep in her bones. I felt her love in the book, too much love for them after all she suffered. It's her greatest quality, but her greatest weakness too.

Remember, she has been groomed by Hollywood (including likely MK Ultra mind control programming/SRA) to give the proper answers and behave in a certain way when she's "on", i.e. conducting a polished interview such as this. I believe that she has had to master how to compartmentalize. However, her sadness, loneliness, and emptiness is palpable to me. The eyes say it all. She has been a human marionette, so to speak. But what we are witnessing lately is her programming coming undone as she is manifesting her true screwed up self. It's very tragic that her own parents, and all those around her whom she should have been able to trust, have betrayed her in every way. I pray for her to heal and turn back to faith in the Lord, which she has recently disavowed. 🙏

Even when she initially said "...my dad ran a restaurant and was into construction building", right before the potential contempt face, i thought maybe she WANTED to say something more like "My dad likes to spend my money on\to invest in construction building"...because what restaurant owner is also actively into construction building?!? This interview is loaded with the unspoken! And she is the master of keeping her words in check 👑

The stress Britney shows with the "are you going out" question, is there an indication if she is not allowed to say she cannot go out on her own or is it she does not want us to know that she is in conservatorship?
    What do you guys think?

    • @ct6852
      @ct6852 7 месяцев назад +10

Not sure about that specifically. Just get the sense her whole vibe is 'what exactly is it that you people want from me??' type of thing. In that time it was never really clear what gigs she was being forced into, and what it was she chose for herself.

Definitely makes her uncomfortable at the very least. It's easier to find the answer you want based on what we know now

    • @TheBehavioralArts

@@korie4198I agree with this a lot. It’s easy to look back with what we know now and say “that’s for sure why she said that” but there no way any amount of body language can give us those detailed guesses as to exactly why she’s showing stress around a topic.

people also tend to head tilt when they're flirting. It may also be an attempt for her to create a connection, by showing vulnerability and thus signaling trust.

Has anyone also noticed the moments where she would look down or away during her answers, even while smiling? It reminds me of someone staring into the abyss (lol). Hard to describe exactly what it's portraying but you can tell there was a darkness in her eyes during those small moments.

Her mouth shrug... I felt a sense of her feeling she was missing something. Idk why, but it was a sense of "I wanted it to be what I'm describing, but I was missing something, and I feel a loss of something"
It felt like she knew it wasn't a normal childhood, but she wanted it to be and wanted to convince the audience and herself that it was a normal childhood.

I wonder if it means anything the way she looked away so quickly when asked of she was in a good place, at 29:51. Like she was seeing/ thinking/ feeling the real answer and then coming back providing him with the only response she can really give.

Of course it's a shrug, I'm glad you pointed that out. Saying that smirking to the side is an automatic contempt can be misleading for as you mentioned, what they say before and after is important but I noticed also that Britney looked to the left as she is recalling something from the past, same side as the smirk BTW, she was not looking straight at the individual as someone would with contempt.

    • @MINOUTFTABOU

Early weaning from parents is absolutely important. Britney had to feed her parents for almost 30 years and even had a house built to her parents'/mother's taste.
Narcissistic parents can be a nuisance. Britney had a good financial cushion to even enforce a no-contact order. She reacted far too late,
but by then she was already in the conservatorship of her father. 5 million dollars earned just to keep the daughter in check, verbally beat her up and keep her under control.
Britney should just keep the family off her back now, otherwise this clan will have the power to make life difficult for her again.
Hopefully, after three bad men, she will finally meet an honest and loving man, become a mother again and start all over again. CAREFUL Britney only has to be with the important things:
      1) keep the family clan at arm's length
      2) find a good counselor and another good lawyer
      and especially important:
Not find men who have the same character as the second and third husband and stay away from guys à la Justin Timberfake
So far, B has always had guys with bad character.
As a woman, you can never be too careful and I hope Britney becomes a little more selective when looking for a new boyfriend and isn't as naive as she used to be.

I can't even imagine how hard life under conservatorship must be..Like a little chirpy bird slowly resigning itself to it's gilded cage and growing silent😢 She did very well all things considered, I do think though that questions like these, about her everyday life made her uncomfortable because she was realising that she doesn't really have that much to talk about..probably didn't even know her own self well because of how restricted her life was😢

I can't, just watching this video knowing everything she was going through at that time having to pretend to be happy and put a smile on her face, and everything she has been through, it crushes me. She is one of the strongest people I know. If it were me in her situation, I doubt I would still be alive today. Haters keep saying how "she is rich, life is so hard, boo hoo hoo", but it's much much more than that! People can be so cruel and have zero heart! P.S, can we also maybe get Greg Hartley to interview Britney's family, kfed, Justin Timberlake, Robin Greenhill and Lou Taylor please? Maybe he'll help get to the bottom of the REAL truth. So sick of people saying Britney is lying and playing victim.

When he says "so you're in a good place right now" and she nods and says "yes, sir," her eyes do this side glance, roll up, then look down movement. To me, that movement negates the the "yes." If you mimic it, you might feel what I'm saying. Personally, I've given this same "yes" with these same avoiding glances, unable to look the person in the eye and say "yes, I'm" ok. I wasn't. I really feel that for her here. Hindsight is probably a bias, but I feel very familiar with that eye gesture and that question.

To me, her answers about night life read as "no one here is really going to understand why I don't." And that's totally from my own lens and perspective, but I've given a lot of answers like that in my past when I didn't know how to say "I'm with someone controlling and I feel like I need to be above those things to get their approval"

29:50 I remember seeing this interview live at the time, and I turned to my partner and said, "she didn't like that question at all, she's definitely not happy". Back then I had no knowledge of body language principles like I've learned since from Spidey and TBP, but I was always very instinctual and for whatever reason, that answer sent me major alarm bells. It disturbed me for a while, I kept returning to it in my mind, thinking, "what's going on there?".

Your video came up in recommendations, maybe because just a couple of days ago I watched this interview.
I don’t know anything about body language and face expressions, but definitely I thought there was some tension happening when that topic about going out was brought up.
