    • @pachavega
      @pachavega 2 года назад +1

      You can make your own sauerkraut at home, just as I did in the video. Seaweed can be found in natural grocery stores or from a reputable, organic online store. Sprouts are so easy to grow at home. Just look for radish, broccoli, alfalfa seeds, soak overnight and rinse morning and night for a few days until they grow!

    Unfortunately ocean pollution is making seaweed less desirable.

    • @pachavega
      @pachavega 2 года назад +3

      Yes, true. I've been focused more on algae, such as spirulina and chlorella with small additions of seaweed - from tested, reputable sources. It's always important to ask the back story of our food. Thanks for the comment.

    Sea vegetables have heavy metals though....

    • @pachavega
      @pachavega 3 года назад +3

      Yes, that's very true actually. They can accumulate in their tissues. That's why we always recommend a variety of different seaweeds and algaes (not the same one over and over) as well as finding a reputable source that tests their seaweeds! Thanks for bringing this up!

      I’m willing to bet that despite vegans having become internet memes who announce their dietary preferences at the drop of a hat, you’ve actually met more healthy ones than you realize. It is far more common to hear from people who didn’t do well after they made the switch though, mainly because they failed to do enough research before embarking on such a huge lifestyle change. Even with a healthy diet like a plant based one, it’s still surprisingly easy to get it wrong without due diligence.

      Seaweed and algae are among some of the few plant groups that contain both DHA and EPA fatty acids, and can be easily incorporated into our diet. I specifically recommend marine phytoplankton, spirulina and chlorella for this

      We're all on our own journey. Everything we come across we have a choice. to either say yes, or to ignore. The amazing thing about freedom is we choose what resonates with us and what we leave behind. We respect everyone's journey, wherever they are at.

    • @krzemyslav
      @krzemyslav 4 года назад +16

      well... there are no maybes when you have science and evidence ;). if being healthy is an indicator of what human beings should eat, then we are definitely not meant to eat meat, period. what about canines then? have you ever seen teeth of a real carnivore? they are sharp like needles, not wimpy and blunt, like human teeth. talking about canines- all mammals except rodents, rabbits and pikas (whatever they are) have them. so what? should cows eat human flesh, then ;)? they probably eat grass because they don't have adequate livestock or large game to hunt...
