My sister used to do ice skating at the Ringwood Ice Rink. I went there many times. My Mum and Dad would take her to lessons. I remember sometimes, walking with my Dad looking at the used cars next to Iceland. 1974 i reckon.

I grew up in Ringwood from late '50s to 1975. Had such fun at Iceland and Ringwood Lanes. Bands played at Iceland every Sunday night back then which was great because I couldn't skate to save myself but I kept trying!

When we were teenagers we used to go to the dance at Ringwood Town Hall, called Piccadilly. I remember seeing Russell Morris for the first time there.

Back when Myer was Myer and built great grand individual stores - like Eastland, original Chadstone, original Southland, Dandenong, Frankston. Before they became hidden under redevelopment.

I remember. We used to go to the Village Green to see Daddy Cool and Chain on Sat afternoons at that time. Kids in Ringwood werent too friendly to kids from the Dandenongs.

Superb! I grew up near Ringwood in the 1970's. Ironic that I bought the timber for the deck I was building on my then new house in Warranwood, from the timber yard that replaced Iceland. Used to go skating there too.
00:53 The neon light tyre on top of the tyre shop, corner of New St and Maroondah Hwy. I remember this lit up at night in the 1970's, representing a rotating wheel. It has been dark for many years since. Is the sign still there? I'm 1800km away now, so difficult to go see it for myself.

So much change since then and buildings now long gone like Ringwood bowling lanes, the timber yard, the skating rink and the Old Eastland building. Change is not always for the best, but in some cases maybe it is. ⛽📼

The days when I knew the Ringwood Mayor when they installed the first timed traffic lights, which promptly broke down, and during a party, he had to to the go Airport to pick up a replacement electronic 'thingo'. Those 'heady' days.

while I can usually tell landmarks from Melbourne in older videos, not really as true with ringwood. There's the old war clock tower. Interesting seeing the town as my mother would of saw it.
