I've become interested in melbourne as its where I grew up, Its nice to see videos of melbourne the city over the past 200 years, I have tried to find videos from Monash, Mount Waverly Ashwood Oakleigh, Homesglen and surrounding areas, as I grew up in these suburbs of melbourne, If anywhere there's footage, images, stories anything of these areas reply back

Sample bags at the show used to be free. It was the way to advertise their wares.

Is this the original music? I love it. Also, I have a lot of old newspapers from Melbourne, including a front page from the day of federation in 1901. What should I do with them? They are fragile and hardly ever seen. Any ideas? Anyone throw in your thoughts. I’d be very grateful.😊

@@Gezza1967 hey Gezza, I watch most of your vids. I just realised a few things. I had a video camera in the 80s and 90s. Friends said “ you’ll use it a few times and forget about it.” Nup, wherever I went the camera came with me. Mainly my young children and their friends and holidays but when I was driving kids would video as passengers when I picked them up from Watsonia station driving home to Watsonia North. I’d even video the cat playing lol. Haven’t used for years, not sure if still working but still have all my master tapes, that’ll be history one day. Also watching this vid, my maternal grandmother was born 1885 and passed away 1978, she lived in Carlton so this is life how she saw it. My paternal great grandfather was a member of parliament during federation, so great to see Parliament House when he was there. I put quite a few on disk years ago, so I guess I should tell my kids to give appropriate copies to someone for history purposes. Must right a will, lol, I’m pushing 70 😱😂

@@bernadettelanders7306 that’s terrific. I remember your family history you’ve shared on the Carlton 3053 FB page. You should start up a RUclips channel and post your videos 🤗👍

If i could turn back the clock, I want to come in this early 20 century. Life was much more fun on Yarra River and the Melbourne Show Ground. Now, it's far TOO QUIET esp show ground just a piece of land without anything as fun as it was where I just went there during COVID 19 for pop in test. Ghost town after N numb is the best words to describe the scene I have which worse than a century ago. Damnnnnnnn
