Cables absolutely make a difference!! 3 years ago, I was fortunate to acquire (used) Audience Au24 SE power & XLR & usb cables. I have not had the desire to change anything! Until ……I came across a used Audience Front Row usb. Great vid, thank you.

Never heard of Audience before, but I’m glad they worked out for you!

Interesting video. Do you use the Pangea power cables for all your studio gear?

I’m glad you like it. The Pangea cables are used for hifi currently as I have my old Focal system in another house. Those are fantastic cables but I started building my own for my studio. I still need to make lots of cables but eventually will get there.

The real question why does the last three or four feet of power cord matter so much and why not the romex in the walls and ceiling and the main from the street to the breaker box? Wouldn't the ordinary solid core Home Depot romex have a bad effect?
I'll make an admission, I did buy a few really nice PS Audio power outlets for the spots I plugin in my audio equipment because I thought the "grip" force of the PS Audios plug might be an advantage. For power amps I think there is an argument that you want a very solid grip on the plug and the PS audio outlets are very strong. My house otherwise has the crappy contractor outlets the house came with. In some cases I can plug something in and it won't work because the tabs are "floating" in the outlet (one particular one I've not replaced yet). Another thing that might make sense would be running over guaged Romex to the outlet(s) used by the power amps, like the romex you'd usually use for a electric clothes dryer. In my case the walls were already finished so I'm not interested in doing that.

By the time it gets to your home most of the noise is below what your household items and connected gear produces. Your own equipments pollute your signal the most. Also if you watch the video I talk about the importance of shielding too. Also, I talk about how electric cables are not like water pipes and indeed whats behind a circuit matters.
