Have you tryied to use Studio Verse (Waves) or Patchwork (Blue Cat Audio) or Metaplugin (DDMF) to run multiple plugins instances in Pro Tools (it can help to save slot's spaces for plugins)?
I use Ableton for production and Pro Tools to record edit and mix full songs. Although I actually like Studio One better than Pro Tools, everyone I know uses PT so forced myself to use it to be compatible but now it grew on me and I like it. It’s the Best at audio editing plus the recent updates make it way better now
Do you have links to the tutorials for Pro Tools you mentioned? I've been using Ableton Live for 12 years, so I know it very well. Launching Pro Tools on a Windows machine with it's "Windows XP" style interface was, in itself, very daunting!
I have been using PT since 2000. Have tried other DAWs but I just can’t rap my head around them. I don’t like their pricing at all, I have a perpetual Ultimate version and to be up to date I have to pay 400 a year. Although I do use it professionally, so I guess I am stuck!
Ableton Live is WONDERFUL for what it's designed for: Creating Loop style music and also as a live DAW. if you're recording and mixing full bands though there is much better software out there. I use Ableton Live for all my solo stuff. Still looking for a DAW for full bands and mixing though. I've narrowed it down to either Logic Pro or Studio One at this point but I don't currently have a Mac so it would be hard to compare.
Totally agree! For larger projects Pro Tools does the job too, I would try Studio One if I were you. I believe there is a one month free trial. It is an overall good DAW but not too logical in certain workflows (they stuffed a ton of functions into it though). I started with Logic which always felt cohesive and great. I haven’t touched it for about 10 years but I don’t hear many good things about it nowdays. I would lean towards Studio One personally. Just my 2 cents
I started out with Cubase which to me is the second on my favorite Daw list. But unless you are a click in Producer, in that case FL. Studio or Maschine could be for you. I have Logic Pro, I don't open it anymore, I have Studio One I try switching to it at some point But it crashed a lot and it's just a light copy of cubase(But cooler and more modern like your little brother) and Pro Tools wanna be IMHO. In conclusion to me if you are a musician who play your instruments to record, Pro tools is the Best. Don't waste your time recording here, bouncing here and there then you gonna end up in pro tools somehow in the end before you hit the Market anyway To Me Pro Tools could be easily called LOGIC because it is the most logical DAW.
Indeed for most everything PT is enough end to end. I wouldn’t disregard Ableton for electronic music producers though :) I was about to say for instrumentalists I would also choose PT. Good points
I was using ableton live for mixing from 2012 until lately, when I began mixing exclusively in Cubase for a client. Cubase helped me a whole lot. Oddly, I want to try Pro Tools.
@@portwill You might be missing out a lot. Cubase is what Pro Tools ought to have been years ago. Also, the predatory licensing that Avid is going for (forced super expensive subscription-only model)... No thanks.
Studio One takes over the buffer settings of the interface which is not something that the Prism driver appreciates so I needed to restart the driver or the interface lots of times. This happens both on Windows and OSX. Others have the same issue with Prism interfaces. Also in general performance was not that great (can’t really put my finger around it). Feature-wise it is still probably the best DAW I’ve seen though, it’s packed

for the cons if u want to use multiple plugin u can use parallel processing or create a folder track
Great point!!!

That’s awesome Jack ;)
Ableton's 12 sends/returns tracks can get really confusing quick when working on big projects 🤯

This is the one: www.groove3.com/products/Pro-Tools-Explained
producing in ableton, recording in studio one
Good stuff 😊

Me to started with digirackoo1
Thanks for your awesome video. Question: what video monitor are you using? You aspect ratio looks rather wide (21:9 or 32:9)?
Thanks a lot!! I use an LG ultrawide, 34”. I believe it is 21:9 but don’t quote me on that

@@portwill Thank you! I had no idea about the month free trial! Definitely checking it out then!

I made the same decision 💪😎

You should give it a try! I haven't tried Cubase tbh so cannot comment on differences
@@portwill yeah, I did try pro tools, and I enjoyed it right off.

very helpful insight ty
Thanks for the comment!! It means a lot
curious what failed exactly from studio one? for the software side not how it integrated with you're software?
