I LOVE the Japanese Fried Rice from TJ's! I can eat an entire bag by myself! I just toss it in the microwave, and 4 minutes later, I am ready to feast!
I may be alone on a holiday here and there, but I have more amazing Tuesday nights, random-whatever nights during the year than most people. I'm very thankful for that.
Thank you. Beginning last year my sister and her family decided to start going away for Thanksgiving. I used to go to their place for dinner but now Thanksgiving is just another day of the week for me.
The bugolgi is the best by far. I always have a pack in the freezer in case I’m running late and need a quick breakfast. Lots of flavor and so easy to make
I started using bell pepper after having it in fried rice at a local restaurant. It is definitely different and probably not for everyone but I love the flavor it adds.
Yeah…. It seems like anytime I get fried rice, serving size goes out the window…. And I always keep a bag of mixed veg in the freezer to quick blanch and throw on top, especially green beans, edamame, and broccoli (some top protein veges)
My son lives with me but spends most of his time in his room. So, I am sort of alone. I had sweet and salty carrots, 2 coneys, and bacon mashed potatoes. For dessert I made a peach cobbler. He had a special pizza, frozen and baked by me.
I normally always make my own fried rice as well but the Thai fried rice is stunning!! Unbelievably flavorful and satisfying!! I’m not typically fond of shrimp, but even that is so enjoyable!! I believe the distinctive flavor is actually kaffir lime leaf, not Thai basil☺️
I would rather make fried rice myself. Snap peas, sliced water chestnuts, and scramble 2 eggs in the pan when it's almost done cooking, then mix it with the rice and veggies. Yum. And stir coconut aminos while cooking instead of soy sauce for flavor.
Happy Thanksgiving, Emmy! My daughter who still lives with us introduced us to the Thai spicy rice because it's her fave. I can see why especially when the rice caramelizes in little bits like you pointed out. Also it's the only fried rice I've seen where even the baby corn is thinly sliced so you get some in every bite :)
I love Trader Joe's, still hoping Emmy will try the Gyoza the pork specifically half steamed with one side toasted, one half all crispy which is my favorite. I had only tried a couple of their fried rice varieties & didn't care for them so now I know which ones to try
I can literally hear Uncle Roger's voice reacting to this video going "haiya" over and over again but also watching some old MRE videos and declaring Emmy an Auntie :D
I use the vegetable fried rice bag to mix with my own leftover rice. So I just add like half a cup to whatever amount of leftover rice I have and season as I normally would. It gives my own fried rice an extra flavor oomph, specifically an actually fried taste. And the veggies are nice if I don’t have very many on hand.
I love Trader Joe’s, I wish they had one closer to me here in Missouri because oh my God I could lose my paycheck in there. There’s another store called Ollie’s that’s from North Carolina. I love that store. I’m going there for two things and come out with half the store ha ha ha.❤❤
Thank you for the recommendation for Blueland, Emmy! I've been looking for a good eco friendly company and I definitely want to check them out, especially with how nice their products look. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
Paused to comment... Homemade fermented hot sauce?!? Did I miss an episode in which you showed us how to make that?? Of so, someone please point me in the right direction! If not, great idea for an episode Emmy! Ok, back to the video 😂❤
I'm grateful for your excellent videos, Emmy! Throw a small can of crushed pineapple with some ginger and garlic in the middle of all those fried rices, drizzle on some sesame oil, and call it dinner and dessert rice...bliss!
The Japanese fried rice is my personal favorite :) I always make sure to have some on hand because its such an easy meal and so yummy. I like adding fried cubed spam and topping it with Japanese mayo and furikake.
Emmy, can I have the hot sauce recipe? As indicated below, I'm Brown. That means I'm proudly Mexican. More flavor is more better! I also got to live in Seoul for a while. Camsahabnida!!! My dad was an Air Force brat. He went to high school at Tachekawa and to this day, he makes awesome Gyozas. He grew up in France in the early 1960s and makes French food. We invented fusion before it was a thing. Keep on cooking on, Emmy!
One thing Trader Joe's does right is frozen foods. I keep the chicken fried rice in my freezer at all times. It's delicious. I didn't know about the spicy shrimp. I'm picking a bag of that next time I'm in there.
yessss love the TJs Thai fried rice it's actually packed full of flavor and Thai herbs!! has shrimp in it I believe! the TJs green curry tofu + rice bowl is also really delicious!
There's been mixed N=1 studies on freezing starches before consuming. I haven't tested on myself, i just try to avoid rice. I like all the other parts in fried rice though!!
I always my own fried rice...never seen it frozen before. I use whatever I can find in my fridgw, bacon, ham slices, even steak! And any vegetable I might have!
the fried rice my mom made growing up was literally just rice, soy sauce, black pepper, and either cut up hotdogs or cut up bologna and the only real change my sister and I have made to the recipe is adding an onion. So I can't critique the weird ingredient inclusions like nori or red pepper lol
I’m wondering if instead of using vegetable oil on the griddle, would sesame oil be another choice? Considering it would add that layer of flavor to the fried rice.
Really nice. I'd rather use my instant pot to make them "from scratch" using frozen vegetables and frozen meat that's already pre cut and clean. 90 celsius for an hour and a half if I have enough time, otherwise a quick white rice cycle works too (if enough food so it doesn't burn), but with mushier results. If you want a toasty flavor you can add caramelized onions or pre fry some onion before adding other ingredients. I also love to add canned mushroom and / or cauliflower rice. Funny I made something similar to that shrimp rice but, coming from Brazil, I always call those dishes with rise "risottos" even if they technically aren't (?). We never call those dishes fried rice back there. Nonetheless, I like the idea of the dishes you tried if you just want a quick microwave meal that you can prepare while getting dressed to go out in a rush or something like that.
Funny. The only fried rice I’ve ever had, was made with soy sauce as an ingredient. A Japanese lady taught my mom how to make it. It also included fried egg. It was kept separate until the everything was cooked and the soy sauce added and then the egg was added so it didn’t get brown from the soy sauce.
I usually stayed away from the fried rice bags (because it's super easy to make, I even had it for breakfast), but now I'm curious and will probably have to try the bulgogi one. Also.... What's this about a fermented hot sauce? Did I miss this?
i've tried the veg, chicken, japane veg- and did not like any. bland. i won't spend $5.49 for frozen fried rice...i'll just go to a take out and buy a good size container for $7.99
I’m guessing you would want to add sesame oil yourself, so the cooking doesn’t affect the flavor of the oil. I love TJ’s spicy Thai fried rice, it’s super nummy!
You shouldn’t unless you want to buy new machines at a regular basis, guess she have so much money from sponsorships that she can buy, use it a few times and then throw away just to buy a new….
I wonder why most Americans pronounce "bulgogi" (불고기) with the accent on "고" ("bull-GOH-gee")... My Korean friends say it more like, "POOL-goh-gee", with the "불" stressed. It's actually a compound word; "bul" (fire) and "gogi" (meat) = "grilled meat".... What kind of "gogi"? "BUL gogi"!
For those celebrating it: 🦃Happy Thanksgiving! I'm grateful for all of you!💖
Thankful for you too!✌🏼💖
Same to you Emmy Happy Thanksgiving!🦃
And Happy Thanksgiving to you and your whole family and circle of friends.
Hey Emmy! I'm sorry to ask I might have missed it. Are you able to remember if these were White Rice dishes or Brown Rice?
I LOVE the Japanese Fried Rice from TJ's! I can eat an entire bag by myself! I just toss it in the microwave, and 4 minutes later, I am ready to feast!
This one goes out to everyone who spent Thanksgiving alone, standing up eating fried rice in your kitchen, I see you, I am you 😎
I have my cat. Just eating some ramen for dinner. I will be roasting the turkey tomorrow!
I did that for Christmas once.
I didn't hate it. Nice day eating fave food and watching Christmas classics!✌🏼💖
I had trader joes Kung Pao...lol.. happy thanksgiving 🦃
I'm very invested in this. I've tried them all and Japanese Fried Rice is my king! 👑
Wow, I have to say the sight of five different kinds of fried rice on one rectangle griddle is quite enthralling!
The bugolgi is the best by far. I always have a pack in the freezer in case I’m running late and need a quick breakfast. Lots of flavor and so easy to make
I've always loved the way you describe food and are able to pick out the flavors! ♥️
Try the cauliflower rice too! There's also a Japanese one, and a Mexican rice.
Putting pasta in the fridge and reheating can also help make it better for digestion / sugar spikes
I love TJ's Jumeokbap!
My son lives with me but spends most of his time in his room. So, I am sort of alone. I had sweet and salty carrots, 2 coneys, and bacon mashed potatoes. For dessert I made a peach cobbler. He had a special pizza, frozen and baked by me.
I LOVE the Japanese fried rice. Ultimate comfort food when I have no energy to cook
While the fried rice review was great the most important thing i learned by far was that zojirushi makes griddles.
I would rather make fried rice myself. Snap peas, sliced water chestnuts, and scramble 2 eggs in the pan when it's almost done cooking, then mix it with the rice and veggies. Yum. And stir coconut aminos while cooking instead of soy sauce for flavor.

happy thanksgiving!!!! love this video!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving ❤❤❤
❤
Have a great Thanksgiving Emmy
Thank you for reviewing these! I’ve been trying to decide which one to get. I’m definitely going to buy the Thai and the bulgogi ones.
I can literally hear Uncle Roger's voice reacting to this video going "haiya" over and over again but also watching some old MRE videos and declaring Emmy an Auntie :D
I really like your hair!!! I hope you and the family are doing great! Love from Greece🥰
Happy Thanksgiving to you Emmy and your family and to all the Emmy family. 🦃
The Thai fried rice is my favorite (unless I'm making my own using Emmy's recipe).

🦃Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for the recommendation for Blueland, Emmy! I've been looking for a good eco friendly company and I definitely want to check them out, especially with how nice their products look. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
The THAI one! I add fish sauce, more shrimp, and sometimes more garlic (to my taste)!
The shrimp Thai basil is my all time favorite!!!!!!!!!
Paused to comment... Homemade fermented hot sauce?!? Did I miss an episode in which you showed us how to make that?? Of so, someone please point me in the right direction! If not, great idea for an episode Emmy! Ok, back to the video 😂❤
Happy Thanksgiving to you
My family’s been eating the chicken fried rice from Trader Joe’s for years, I love it : P
I'm grateful for your excellent videos, Emmy! Throw a small can of crushed pineapple with some ginger and garlic in the middle of all those fried rices, drizzle on some sesame oil, and call it dinner and dessert rice...bliss!
I absolutely love the Spicy Thai Shrimp Fried Rice, though I add about 3 eggs and some extra shrimp to it.
I honestly adore the chicken fried rice. It's nostalgia because I grew up eating it, but I can eat half a bag by myself in one sitting.
The Japanese fried rice is my personal favorite :) I always make sure to have some on hand because its such an easy meal and so yummy. I like adding fried cubed spam and topping it with Japanese mayo and furikake.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EMMY!!! 🦃🍂🎇🤎🧡❤️💛
The Thai fried rice is my go to, love it!
We tried them all. The Bulgogi Fried rice is my son's favorite and we like to keep it stocked now as it's convenient for lunches for school.
Happy Thanksgiving, Emmy. ❤️
One thing Trader Joe's does right is frozen foods. I keep the chicken fried rice in my freezer at all times. It's delicious.
I didn't know about the spicy shrimp. I'm picking a bag of that next time I'm in there.

the TJs green curry tofu + rice bowl is also really delicious!
I havent been here in awhile!! Hello Emmy! ❤
There's been mixed N=1 studies on freezing starches before consuming. I haven't tested on myself, i just try to avoid rice. I like all the other parts in fried rice though!!
Is that a Teak spatula? Any recommendations for wooden cookware
Those fried rice dishes looked good happy thanksgiving
What's for dinner? I had steak 🥩 and lobster 🦞 for my Thanksgiving dinner.
I always my own fried rice...never seen it frozen before. I use whatever I can find in my fridgw, bacon, ham slices, even steak! And any vegetable I might have!

Shouldn’t cook fried rice with that. It’s a topping.

Og Emmy! 🧘♀️ 💯
My vote goes to the curried shrimp rice.
BTW Emmy, you are looking beautiful as always. Happy Thanksgiving!😊
My fried rice never comes out the way I like it when I make it at home!☹️
Hi Emmy !! If possible in my fried rice is snap peas and waterchesnut❤❤
You do great at describing food, Emmy.
I too love the TJ's Thai Shrimp Fried Rice! I also like the Japanese Fried Rice, but I add extra spicy tofu. Where is your Chicago tee from?
I work for Trader Joe’s! I always have to ask myself “what’s for dinner”?
My mom loves the thai fried rice. She adds the argentenian red shrimp to it
“What's for dinner?" :P
Happy Thanksgiving !

🦃🦃🦃🦃 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃🦃
My granddaughter LOVES the trader Joe's veggie and chicken fried rice. Delicious.
You can get a million versions of fried rice everywhere.
How hard or special can it be?
I get Kimchi fried rice at my local Korean restaurant.
I’m guessing you would want to add sesame oil yourself, so the cooking doesn’t affect the flavor of the oil. I love TJ’s spicy Thai fried rice, it’s super nummy!
Yeah Yeah Hurray for Trader Joe’s. I agree with all of the reasons you say why you like to shop there…..me too!
You forgot the cauliflower fried rice!!!
I had found a gluten free lemon and poppy seed muffin mix at Traders. Very yummy.
looks delicious happy turkey day❤️
Emmy “It’s not that spicy”
Me “Oh, then much too spicy for me.” 😂
Should have mixed all them together after maybe it would have been tasted different
I buy the vegetable and the chicken fried rice. I like them
LOOKS SO YAMMY
Now let's see you make fried rice!
we eat the vegan one a few times a month. It's so good! We add green onions, sesame seeds, and hot sesame oil to drizzle at the end. yummm
Where are you getting rooster sriracha?
I would take what’s left and mix them all together too! Waste not…😊 Create a totally new flavor.
I've never been to Trader Joe's to far from me. I wish they would deliver like Amazon in a day or two.
hi Emmy :) Thank you ! you look absolutely stunning again.
Veggie fried rice is the best, according to my fussy hubby.
I love pineapple fried rice. 😀
Is that a nonstick cool service? I thought you can’t use metal in nonstick surfaces.
You shouldn’t unless you want to buy new machines at a regular basis, guess she have so much money from sponsorships that she can buy, use it a few times and then throw away just to buy a new….
@@NaeniaNightingaleGuys, not all nonstick can’t take metal. It depends on what it’s made out of. This myth just won’t die.
I am allergic to bell peppers so can’t eat most Trader Joe’s fried rice. Good to hear some opinions, thank you.
I miss their turkey stuffing stir fried rice so much
I like to get the vegetable fried rice and add my own scrambled eggs to it.
japanese fried rice is my favorite!
"BUL gogi"!
Rice seems like it's a freebie food.
Not so.
😅when seeing this my heart say, better make it fresh or use a wok
I love that Japanese Fried Rice (vegetarian here)
Is that a Chicago shirt?! ❤
Tasty!
