wohoo a new video from the master, excellent as always just read about these patterns in trout fisherman and supposedly deadly wee flys at stillwaters going to give it a bash now cheers al the best Kenny
Hi Davie Great little pattern. I have tied a few bunny streamers but havnt tried doing the body that way. It looks great I will have to try it out soon. Thanks for the Great videos Chance
Hi Davie. I make quite similar pattern, the difference is in materials i use. I make the body from ordinary foam, shaped (using scisors) as minnow, than insert mylar tubing and end up with epoxy. When it's all dry i use my thread to attache strip / cock feathers and finish all with 3d eyes and epoxy head.
Hi Davie, Excellent tie as always. one question. do you cut your own rabbit strips? if so how do you do it? do you just use a ruler and razor blade? any tips or pointers would help...
Hi Davie, Fantastic Fly, exactly the kind of fly i was looking for! Can you tell me where you got the Bug Bond as i have been looking everywhere for it? Thanks again, Best regards, ~David
Hi Juan Manuel Ponce, You shouldn't have too much trouble with this fly fouling but I would always check it from time to time when fishing..I'm glad you liked the fly though... All the very best Davie
Hi Davie, Have you ever published a video for the modern snake fly pattern, as per the FullingMill version with two hooks linked by braid and designed for still water rather than the sea trout treble hook version? I'd like to tie a natural colour version that FM don't sell but having trouble tying the fly. Cant decide whether to tie the front or back hook first. Sorry this is long winded, hope to hear from you for a bit of guidance. :-)
Hi Julian Campbell, I've never tyed a snake fly before to be honest with you though they were fished a lot on Loch Leven with great results..I would probably tye the rear hook on first and then attach it to the front but I would have to tye some to get a feel for the pattern..I can't promise you that I'll have time to have a go but keep me in mind and I'll see what I can do.. All the very best Davie

UVB Light?
Mr McPhail...was wondering if you ever add rattles to any of your flies? It seems that a rattle would work well with this fly
Hi Patrick Higgins,
No I haven't but I'm sure it would certainly be worth trying as you said...Merry Christmas..
