Add those extra carbon exterior bits to a 3RS and its easily the better looking imo - both front and rear bumpers look nicer, exhaust looks way more aggressive with the centre pipes. Agree at idle the GT2 RS is louder but up high in the rev range the n/a engine just sounds amazing

I actually prefer the GT2RS front myself. Something about the 991.2 GT3RS front I've just never liked. It looks really good front on. But once I see it at more of an angle it just looks weird. I think now that the bottom is tapered backwards so much, it makes the front look too small/cayman-esque to me.

Not only 911's though, but many sports cars in general I feel. The same has happened with BMW's from E30 M3 to E92 and F82. Nissan with the R32 to R35 GTR growing bigger each generation. The Ford Mustang. Audi RS4. Hell even the Honda Civic has packed on the pounds over the years haha

The 991.1 3RS with the titanium exhaust is the best sounding 911 IMO. 2RS has crushing acceleration compared to the 3RS. I might have more fun with the 3RS at a track day because I can push that car much closer to its full potential than the 2RS. That said, the 2RS is a rocket.
@@lildos9355 it is the generation of cars. 991.1 is a 2016 GT3RS. 991.2 is 2018-2019. 992 is the latest generation cars (2020 and newer, but some models are only made certain years).

Excellent videos, different from the 20 or so Car Vlogers I am subscribed to. As someone who likes details, these comparisons are really a pleasure to watch. I have no experience with either cars but there are a few RUclipsrs that own and track both cars and they say that the GT2RS is pretty much always faster on tracks but it requires full concentration and is hard work at 8/10 or above, the GT3 RS seems a more friendly car to use. Still, I find rather impressive how the GT2RS (being only RWD) launches better than Aventador SVJ which is 4 wheel drive. I would at least expect a little advantage during launch for the 4wd car but the rear mounted engine seems to give all the traction the 911 needs.
Dont forget Turbo S. Turbo S is much faster than a NA Gt3Rs. This is so dumb useless comparison video ever. Gt3rs must compare with turbo s not a gt2rs. The Gt2rs is super Intensive Technology, lightweight version of turbo s

You took the words right out of my mouth. Front bumper of the gt2rs looks like some cheap aftermarket piece with very little design and just big square intakes. GT3 RS front bumper has style nice sloping curves on the intakes. And yes rear of GT2 RS much more aggressive those giant oval exhaust pipes wrapped in that sick rear diffuser. Beautifully done. I do wish that the front wheel Arch louvres and the typical air intake openings above the rear wheels are in a matte Black as opposed to on the GT2 RS they come in carbon fiber. I'm pretty sure there is no option to have those pieces switched the carbon fibre on the GT3 RS which is a shame. Anyway sorry to go on and on but I've always thought exactly what you said lol. I also prefer the naturally aspirated flat 6 on the GT3rs screaming to 8500rpm, even though the GT2 is a whole other beast I'm kind of sick of turbochargers. Been through too many 2L turbo 4s. GTI, GTI, focus ST, Golf R. That's it next time getting me a viper truck LOL JK
I sold my ‘13 911 Turbo S Manual 2 weeks ago, and bought a 992.1 GT3 RS - It’s an absolute MONSTER. I didn’t get the weissach, didn’t need it. But it’s awesome for daily driving.
I prefer the GT3 RS, its just more fun to rev it out. I've never enjoyed boosted power in anything. Not even the McLaren 650S was "nice" boost. Give me N/A any day of the week.
The GT2RS sounds so different in real life. Way louder then you would think and much deeper. GT3RS definitely has nice exhaust note but the 2RS is just better in every single way. I’ve driven both
Good, comprehensive review. I thought that the NACA ducts on the bonnet of the 2RS was also carbon fibre (you didn’t mention this), whereas it is plastic in the 3RS.
The perfect naturally aspirated Flat 6 is the GT3RS... man oh man the sound of the GT3RS is just bonkers.. GT2RS is good but GT3RS has such a unique a distinct tone and it is my dream car as well. ❤️❤️❤️
Im a GT3 RS fan mostly due to the fact its Naturally Aspirated, I do not want to deal with TURBO PROBLEMS, I know the Tech. has came along long since most Turbos been around for awhile now but I also know there will be a time when eventually the Turbos will need more maintenance. So for me its a no brainer GT3 RS all day err day!!!

Good review... I own both and plan to do a similar review. Few corrections for at least us in the USA... the window triangle does not come in carbon fiber on GT2 RS unless u order as option. Weissach pkg on both cars also doesn’t include the mag wheels. It just allows you the $13k option to get them. Weissach is also pronounced Visock :)

Good review. But if you talk to any legit driver who can handle himself on track, you’ll find they will all pick the GT2RS as the better track car. RWD, more power, it’s the driver’s car of the two. If you are intimidated by the 2RS it’s probably a good indication you’re not at the required level to push it on track.
I had a 2019 991.2 GT3-RS and although I liked it I felt it needed a tad more power so traded it for a 2018 991.2 GT2-RS. Love the 2RS and no going back, it's a keeper.

Love that GT2 RS. I think that is even the color to have. Got a close look at one at a local car show belonging to "Bruce" Jenner. Yellow/black with black interior with yellow accents. "He" said..."it was brought by my house and I was told that I really should buy this car". That was 2019.
great review, confident delivery, perfect pace. One thing that wasn't apparent from the start, and I think it would have been useful for noobs to know which car was the more expensive and had better performance. If you chose to hold back that info to hold viewers, tbh I feel that could be counter-intuitive in the long run, you don't need to try to hold us. new sub.
Many people will always want the latest and most powerful version. I expect the next GT2 will have 900bhp to at least keep up with the Mustang Turbo power levels coming. Then these GT2 will fall in price. But is power all that matters? What about spine tingling high revving sounds? I'd say this aspect is more important for sheer enjoyment day to day. This is the emotional aspect. More than numbers. So I'd go for the best sound and keep it more minimal all round... GT3 In fact now the GT3 engine is this good I'd totally stop developing more power all together. Instead I would focus upon losing mass and making the cars smaller again. For me the next generation should go all carbon fibre like RUF. Now that would be the dream.
Gt3 RS for track just because it has no turbos and so sounds awesome. For the road I'd have the touring version without all the wings and shit, I watched an RS drive through town the other week and noticed it looks a bit silly on the street,
I'd buy a Cayman GT4 and spend the saving on a nice road car or if I had to choose then it would be the GT3 but it would have to have a proper manual gearbox with a clutch pedal.
gt3rs is scary for me aswell. i would go with the turbo s. 4wheel drive makes s huge safety difference but if i was a great driver gt3rs. natural aspirated is just too sexy
Excellent informative review and break down of the specs. Really enjoyed it. The market pricing made me swallow a bit hard but I can't afford them anyway. I DO rent exotics when I go to Vegas though which is really quite a gas! I have a GT3RS w/ Weissach package reserved for this coming June. Can't wait.
Usually, red interior is just for pimps in Mercedes Benzos. In the 911 it doesn't look that bad as the red interior of the 80's, but black interior would be my choice!

You say Weissach with a V sound... just like you say Porsche with the "uh" sound at the end. What surprises me here, is that by Andreas' own admission, getting Carbon looking good is actually much heavier than just painting it. They never used to the "exposed" thing because it came at a weight penalty. I'd suggest that in the case of the GT3RS, the plastic parts probably weight no more than the carbon parts with several layers of lacquer over them. It's interesting to see Porsche give in a little to appearance over function. All the CF should be painted.
great video. I think the track numbers are all with GT2 but cost pricing is a big diference, you will have a diferent but lets say not a less car with GT3. Both cars just present why Porsche is Porsche. tks
Confused about the exhaust comment.... late GT3RS have stainless steel exhaust ? I have a 2019 GT3 RS which i got delivery of in Feb 2019...it is a USA spec car and its Weissach and it has Titanium exhaust. .. not stainless.......am i missing something here ?

GT2 RS it's a really fast car, and GT3 RS it's a race car.
GT3 RS doesn't need much upgrade do get as fast as the GT2 RS, and is so much fun to drive!
Love that GT2 RS. I think that is even the color to have. Got a close look at one at a local car show belonging to "Bruce" Jenner. Yellow/black with black interior with yellow accents. "He" said..."it was brought by my house and I was told that I really should buy this car". That was 2019.

great review, confident delivery, perfect pace. One thing that wasn't apparent from the start, and I think it would have been useful for noobs to know which car was the more expensive and had better performance. If you chose to hold back that info to hold viewers, tbh I feel that could be counter-intuitive in the long run, you don't need to try to hold us. new sub.
Many people will always want the latest and most powerful version. I expect the next GT2 will have 900bhp to at least keep up with the Mustang Turbo power levels coming. Then these GT2 will fall in price.
But is power all that matters? What about spine tingling high revving sounds? I'd say this aspect is more important for sheer enjoyment day to day. This is the emotional aspect. More than numbers. So I'd go for the best sound and keep it more minimal all round... GT3
In fact now the GT3 engine is this good I'd totally stop developing more power all together. Instead I would focus upon losing mass and making the cars smaller again. For me the next generation should go all carbon fibre like RUF. Now that would be the dream.
I have to choose these 2 types of cars.. GT2 and GT3 are my dream cars..

Gt3 RS for track just because it has no turbos and so sounds awesome. For the road I'd have the touring version without all the wings and shit, I watched an RS drive through town the other week and noticed it looks a bit silly on the street,

They are both awesome cars, but I'd go with the gt2 if I had to choose between, instead of having them both!
I'd buy a Cayman GT4 and spend the saving on a nice road car or if I had to choose then it would be the GT3 but it would have to have a proper manual gearbox with a clutch pedal.

gt3rs is scary for me aswell. i would go with the turbo s. 4wheel drive makes s huge safety difference but if i was a great driver gt3rs. natural aspirated is just too sexy

Excellent informative review and break down of the specs. Really enjoyed it. The market pricing made me swallow a bit hard but I can't afford them anyway. I DO rent exotics when I go to Vegas though which is really quite a gas! I have a GT3RS w/ Weissach package reserved for this coming June. Can't wait.
Usually, red interior is just for pimps in Mercedes Benzos.
In the 911 it doesn't look that bad as the red interior of the 80's, but black interior would be my choice!

If I had the cash this would be a hard decision, I’ve always wanted a GT2 the ol widow maker but that NA GT3 sound is amazing tough choice.
You say Weissach with a V sound... just like you say Porsche with the "uh" sound at the end.
What surprises me here, is that by Andreas' own admission, getting Carbon looking good is actually much heavier than just painting it. They never used to the "exposed" thing because it came at a weight penalty. I'd suggest that in the case of the GT3RS, the plastic parts probably weight no more than the carbon parts with several layers of lacquer over them.
It's interesting to see Porsche give in a little to appearance over function. All the CF should be painted.
2RS, i'd gladly sit and look at it all day and maybe a 2020 911 Turbo S as the daily driver for the rear seat space.

I think the track numbers are all with GT2 but cost pricing is a big diference, you will have a diferent but lets say not a less car with GT3.
Both cars just present why Porsche is Porsche.

I have a 2019 GT3 RS which i got delivery of in Feb 2019...it is a USA spec car and its Weissach and it has Titanium exhaust. .. not stainless.......am i missing something here ?

Very interesting review. From what I can infer, if you want to drive it then get the GT3RS, if you plan to garage it get the GT2RS. I'd get the GT3RS and have then centre stripe put on it. 😂 Sorry guys. 🤭
