This one definitely punches above it's weight. Sara "finding" a bit of youthfulness after learning the age demonstrates the importance of trying things blind to really give a true assessment of the whisk(e)y and strip as much preconceptions or bias as possible
I just had this 4 days ago and am trying Rare Breed for the first time right now. I am taking Chat 111 all day over RB! Chattanooga 111 could be my favorite bourbon. It's absolutely delicious!
Chattanooga Whiskey, Woodinville Whiskey Co. and Bardstown Bourbon Company are all killing it right now!! To hell with allocated bourbon and go purchase some bourbon form these great distilleries. You will be glad you did!!!
Love this stuff. I've finished two different '19's, both were excellent and quite consistent. Got a '21 unopened. I think it's a great buy with good availability. The taste belies the age. Took this to a tasting with some very knowledgeable whiskey writers/editors and they were quite impressed.
just had a pour of this. Way better than I was expecting! There's definitely a cooling-like finish that goes on forever. I can see how you would say mint, but it's not a mint flavor, just a similar cooling sensation when inhaling...and they may sound bad, bud it's not, it's absolutely lovely
I just bought this bottle. I cracked it open, poured it into a Drink More Bourbon Glencaryn glass and tasted along with you. I agree. Chattanooga has a bright future if they're making Bourbons this young taste this good at such a young age.
Those malted barley grains are kilned (or roasted) and commonly used to add color to beer. Nice to learn their flavor carries over through distillation. Thanks Sara and Chad for the introduction to something new.
Chattanooga is doing great things! I'm a fan of their stuff. The BIB is fantastic and significantly different to the 111. Their Port Cask finish is great, especially if you're into finished whiskey. I love rye, and theirs is good too. Different from the classic KY rye. I know you guys struggle w/ rye a bit... might be worth a try! Cheers!!
I'm a fan of Chattanooga Whiskey. This 111 is a great sipper, and I've currently got a store pick using their "peated" mashbill that features yellow corn, peated malted barley, naked malted *oat*, and honey malted barley. You have to hunt for the peat, which is fine by me, but I find the oat leaves a pleasant aftertaste, long after the finish dies down.
Just got a bottle of this for the first time. Was blown away with how good it was. Also, try adding a few drops of water to your glass and prepare for a completely different experience.
Chattanooga 111 Proof Bourbon Whiskey in my opinion requires two or three pours separated by at least 24 hours to evaluate. I have come to the opinion that the nose (really really good) is slightly better than the taste, which is still very good. I find it to be a unique experience and will keep a bottle in my possession for the foreseeable future.
My bottle is an interesting one. Definitely tastes a little young. Apple/grape forward with some interesting spice on the finish. Definitely different - which can be a good thing.
I've been drinking Chattanooga 111 for about a year now, and I think of it as my go-to GOOD Bourbon. It tastes better than a lot of higher valued whiskeys that cost 2-3 times what this does. Unfortunately, I've just moved to Florida, and I can't seem to find this particular variety in any of the local liquor stores. Oh, well.
Great video! I’ve had this and their rye, bottled in bond, and port finished, and all of them are excellent. They should become a nationwide staple on shelves!
... first drink of the day I swear! Awesome video, jealous y’all can find it! Live in NC and very very difficult to get Love the 111, can’t ever find the rye 😕
Really impressed by the Chattanooga 111, but I avoid the lower proof one. You guys may have made me a proof hound, dang it! By the way, the video is named "Chattanooga 111 POOF Bourbon Whiskey." Did y'all make the bottle disappear that fast or is that a typo?
I absolutely love Chattanooga, it is my favorite Tennessee whiskey by quite a bit. If you ever have the chance to visit their experimental distillery in Chattanooga, it’s worth a trip! I have a bottle finished in apricot brandy barrels that is lovely
I love the Chattanooga products. Their port finished ✔️ is one of my favs. I highly recommend trying this. My 111 is very oily and sweet, filled with dark fruits, leaning towards the red fruit punch/fruit loops side of things. I don’t get the sharpness you guys tasted but it definitely has a nice “Tennessee hug”. Lol. I’ve been enjoying other whiskeys that are using those speciality malted barleys (chocolate, caramel, victory, etc…). I would imagine well see more of those as the craft distilleries try and differentiate themselves from the big dogs.
I have never had Chattanooga Whiskey. That said, this one sounds intriguing based on your review. I can get it here (in Florida) for $47. However, do I want to pay $47 for a whiskey that is around three years old (maybe 6)? IDK, I think I will pick it up if it’s on sale. There are a ton of tried an true options at that price point. Thanks for the detailed review.

So appreciate the correct pronunciation of Chatta-nooga. Chattan-ooga grates my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.
Chattanooga whiskey is killing it in the craft whiskey game. Their rye is equally awesome

Totally agree. I would throw Wilderness Trail into that list too.
This bottle pairs beautifully with a really dark chocolate. Like >80% cacao and the sweetness of the bourbon really pops!
We’ll have to try that, thanks!

I really liked my bottle. It gets better as you go.
This is one of our favorite whiskeys. We've never had a bad bottle.

love your description of this bottle right on point thank you.
There single barrel is so good I bunkered a couple bottles cant wait for those reviews
Like the My Cousin Vinny reference. “Did you say Utes?”
"Oh excuse me your honor, the two youthhhhhhhhs"
The BiB is amazing, big difference and I love that 111 bottle
Still love the pirate thing!!!
Nobody in whiskey is innovating more than Chattanooga: They’re making some absolute magic right now.
Definitely one of my favorites. I look for Chattanooga and Corsair (also Blue Note Juke Joint Uncut) every time I am in Tennessee.
I opened mine with you, different batch...and pretty good. It definitely lingers after a sip.
Those malted barley grains are kilned (or roasted) and commonly used to add color to beer. Nice to learn their flavor carries over through distillation. Thanks Sara and Chad for the introduction to something new.
It is fantastic. I've had this x2, the BiB, and the 91 Proof....all good...
Must buy
Just bought this today
I haven't tried the 111, but I do have a half bottle of the 91 proof. I was overwhelmed by a nutty, waxy pecan note on the palate. 8/10 reccommend.
Both the 111 and 91 are great sippers. I like the 111 a bit more, but the 91 is easier to share around.
The BiB is awesome
I really like the Chat 111 as my daily drinker. I do tend to lean toward four grain whiskey and at this price point it works.
I love this bourbon. On my 3rd bottle.
Also a great intro for people not into bourbon!
I always enjoy your content. Thanks for what you do.

Chattanooga 111 is a great cask strength product and a great bargain at $45.
No second sip Chad. Another chug Chad? That might work. Don't infringe on Sara's persona build your own. 😃

One of my favorites. Can you imagine of this were 6 or 8 years old?!

Seriously! I just tried this 4 days ago and it is fantastic.

Aarrrrgh! Will be lookin' for this fine Chattanooga.....
This is excellent stuff!
This is one of my favorites along with woodinville cask strength

Great content as always guys!
Picked up a bottle of this about a month ago and really been enjoying it.

You should be able to find in all major retailers + total wine & Publix
Their bottled in bond is fantastic in my opinion. Im not sure the mashbill, but it was 4 year.
We absolutely love this ❤️ "sweet bomb"

Nice review and like the editing. Cheers

Love the 111, can’t ever find the rye 😕
If you can get across the border to TN, the rye is available
@@cockypens1660 340 miles 🥺
Excuse me, “did you say youts?….what’s a yout?”.. haha. I’ve wanted to buy this for a while, and was on the fence. Thanks for another great review!
When a woman says she’s fine, you need to put some distance between you and the flying cast iron skillet heading toward you.
Love there whiskey I've only had there 91🤙🏽
Fun fact, root beer was traditionally made from sassafras root.
I live probably 3 hours away from Chattanooga. I haven’t seen this in any of my local liquor stores.
I get no bake cookies on this all day! Not sure how I feel about it. Would be interested to try the Rye, but might wait for a cask strength.
Love this juice!
Their Solara vat is awesome.
The 1816 cask strength is worth a try too
Cool! I learned two things: I wanna try this whiskey, and, akin is a verb.
Need to grab that BiB from Chattanooga
Would y’all try uncorking the o h Ingrams river age whiskey
Chad, I want to know if you get a Johnny drumish kind of pallet on that one ? I remember having Johnny Drum after and thinking they tasted comparable.
That’s a good f’n whiskey. Sleeper of the year babyboiiii
Really impressed by the Chattanooga 111, but I avoid the lower proof one. You guys may have made me a proof hound, dang it!

Their bib is CRAZY good…..
They should probably just rename it Chaddanooga 🤣🤣

yea its good. top end 50 dollar bottle.
Hey guys, Poof or Proof?
At $45.00, it’s sounds worth it. Any higher than that, and stating it’s only “greater than two years” would seem more of a money grab.
Interesting!

That's how I pretty much feel though I am curious to try that high malt bourbon. But we all know that curiosity killed the cat.
Pardon me boy, is this the Transylvania station? 🚂
Yeah yeah, track 29. Oh, would you like a shine?
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎😎😎😎
There can be but one second sipper and that is Second Sip Sara. Do not seek to take the throne Interloper.
I am actually not a fan. I get an unusual sage finish. Is anyone else getting that?
I have a bottle of the 91. It tastes like whiskey for horses.
Interesting description but not sure what it means.
@@xiamengbaby It means it tastes exactly like rye, barley and corn -- horse food with alcohol.
Has there ever been an episode where Chad doesn’t mention the hug?
“Right off the bat”, I can’t say so…
What's a roux, Barb? I think that's what Chad ment
I'm Drunk but I'm Fine.. Hehe
Punched me good. 😮 Whoa
I'm on my third bottle of the 111. Need I say more.
The heading says "poof" instead of "proof". Namaste.
When you don't realise that there's a typo in the title and you now have a British-English anti-gay slur instead.
"Poof" in the title.
2-3 years old? If it was rum, it wouldn't even be legal lol!
It wouldn't be legal as Scotch or Irish at that age.
Legit rhubarb and root beer do not smell the same at all. Nice try Chad 😂
you're old....ha ha ha...just wait. You don't know what old is.
Must have been paid to say its good, its nasty
Whaaaaa? You seriously don't like it? We dig it.
