    I am more excited for pizza than my new car -- because it sucks. It all starts with the over-budget dream house that I am building. As I have been building my home, the lease on my car has expired. I am not really a car guy, but I had to consider what I wanted to get. I could have a better track record with cars. And I don't need anything costly.
    My favorite has been the Infiniti G35. I also had a BMW M4 for about 3 years, but I felt it was stiff. I prefer a sedan, so I went for the BMW M850i next. After driving it for a while, I felt like I was wasting a lot of money. They repurchased it because I had positive equity. The mom car X6 was next- cheaper and a beast.
    At this point, I am back at the BMW dealership. I keep going back because of the GM and sales associate. They have made my life so easy and comfortable with their customer service. They take care of me. That's the key to a successful business. Join my White Label Mpire community, where I host a group of entrepreneurs who share advice and tips. We uplift and support each other. I also go live for coaching once a week for 2 hours. You can learn how to start and scale your own business. Make yourself more financially stable and create financial freedom.
    I also keep returning to BMW because of their consistency -- I don't want to learn new technology. Well, my new car doesn't suck as I thought. The goal was a lower car payment, which I achieved. It's similar to my old BMW M850i, but my monthly payment is lower significantly. I have a three-year lease as well. Getting back into a sedan instead of an SUV is weird, and it will take some getting used to it.

      @2004cyrus 4 месяца назад +5

      I lease my cars and invest all the cash instead of paying cash on a depreciating vehicle. Leasing has a near zero rate, a money factor, just pay for the service and not worry about all of the maintenance that cars out of the factory warranty require. Most people don’t understand or are scared of leases but I’ve made hundreds of thousands by leasing and investing the remaining cash

    • @planetdee3587
      @planetdee3587 4 месяца назад +6

      @2004cyrus nothing wrong with what you do and seeing it that way... but cars you purchase only depreciate in value if you do not want them anymore. The problem is buying is bad for the person who wants a different car every 2 years or so. But the most common misconception is cars depreciate in value. Nothing that has a function depreciates in value if you never sell it. It's function is still being used and does not change well after you are not making payments on it anymore. So it just is a matter of perspective of if a person wants to keep their car or if they like the latest snd greatest every few years.... which there is absolutely nothing wrong with if that is your thing.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 4 месяца назад +1

      @@planetdee3587 unfortunately you are wrong. Cars depreciate in value while you own them. Plus you spend money for tires and wipers and oil changes. Read any cost of ownership article from experts. Obviously if you never sell it then you don’t feel it so much but you are telling me that a $70k Lincoln whatever that you buy appreciates in value over 10 years? Hardly. Are you telling us that the same Lincoln is still worth $70k 10 years later? It may perform the same function but its value drops when you drive off of the lot. The owner loses that money whether they feel it or not, the money could have been invested or saved. So to imply there is no cost or depreciation is just lying by omission. Property appreciates, some jewelry approaches, classic sports cars may appreciate. But what you are talking about is costing the owner: leasing cars is what I do. And leasing is just financing depreciation, the first 1/3 of the car is what is financed when leased at a very low money factor, so even those cars depreciate. Buying cars is just paying for a service, as well as leasing, paying for a service. Keeping a car for 10 years makes sense for some but not to me because of the maintenance and loss of cash value, or ACV.

I've got rid of the expensive cars and now drive a 10 year old honda civic. I can honestly say that I've never been happier or more focused simply based on a switch as simple as this. Did a bunch of stone work for a very wealthy, well known man that was in his mid eighties at the time. He had a 5 car garage with a Mercedes in each bay. We were talking and he said he has never bought a new car. It was when Mercedes had their ad campaign "its not just a car, it's an investment " going. He stated he expects investments to increase in value. New cars only drop. Also said financing a car is stupid. Never had a car payment even when he was young and broke. Last thing he stated was leasing, with only a couple exceptions, is the worst way to get a car. You cover all depreciation, the dealer makes their profit and you walk away with nothing. Proud to say have never had a truck payment. Never suffered for it either.

    You want nice, very reliable, luxurious, (relatively) reasonable cost, even SUV height and capability? Maybe consider one of the Toyota or Lexus SUVs, like a Toyota 4Runner, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, or even the Lexus versions of those. You might look at either the Lexus GX or maybe even the larger LX, as those are probably the very best quality SUVs that you can buy!
    And if you'd rather have a sedan now instead of an SUV, Toyota and Lexus has plenty of those models which are really nice AND very good reliability and quality too! Toyota is probably the overall MOST reliable car brand, along with their Lexus counterpart, AND it's one of the highest car companies in customer satisfaction and resale value too, so you really have a good chance of getting something good if you go with that car company, either in the Toyota OR Lexus versions!
    I know quite a few people personally who own some model of theirs in some form or another, and they ALL really LOVE them and many even say that now they wouldn't ever drive anything else now that they have one!
    Whatever you get next, try to do a little bit of research (homework) into what you REALLY want and prioritize in a car, truck, or SUV, because you definitely don't want to have to keep "putting up with" a vehicle that you really don't actually Love to own and drive! And IF you decide to buy/own instead of just lease, then reliability and overall build quality matters the MOST! (Toyota/Lexus is the best at that)

      @@MikeKayK Maybe, maybe not, but he did say that he didn't really like his BMW, and he was tired of it also being a "money pit", so maybe he might be in the right mindset in his life finally to appreciate something more practical and economically more of a good investment, plus he did ask his audience for good suggestions, so we'll see what he ultimately ends up going with. Of course it's totally his decision to do whatever TF he wants in the end, but IF he's actually serious about getting the very BEST vehicle for his money, then Lexus is still a really great option...
      I'm definitely NOT going to be recommending anything less than what I did, NOR am I gonna be trying to convince him to get into anything more "exotic" and expensive either, because that's just totally unnecessary, (even though he still MIGHT do that, if he finds something he REALLY loves to drive and it truly fits his style, life, etc.), but that is totally his prerogative too... I personally don't really care, I was just attempting to help him out with my best suggestions based on real world experience, so it's whatever...
      In any case, whatever he chooses as his next vehicle, I just hope that he at least takes his time to actually do some "homework" and at least SOME research into what style, brand, model, etc, of vehicle will actually TRULY fit his life the BEST, before just going out and buying the very first thing he sees, because it's definitely NOT enjoyable in life, to have to always just "put up with" or barely "tolerate" the vehicle you drive everyday, instead you should really ENJOY driving it, AND appreciate its features AND overall USEFULNESS to you and your daily lifestyle, whatever that tends to be! A vehicle, especially your daily driver, should truly COMPLIMENT you and your life, NOT be just another aggravation or annoyance, or always an unnecessary and regular financial burden, and definitely not if you don't really feel happy with it in the first place!
      Not that he can't afford to pay for anything the car he drives needs, of course he definitely CAN do that if he really WANTS to throw his money away on ridiculously expensive car "maintenance", (especially on stuff that shouldn't even be an issue in the first place, with a really good quality vehicle to begin with!), but there's also absolutely NO good reason that any vehicle you drive should just be an endless and unnecessary "waste" of your money either, because I'm sure he's got MUCH better things to spend a lot of money on than constantly having his car in the shop for every single little stupid reason!

      @@JoeJ-8282 He doesn't have the time/energy/desire to research and likely doesn't have the desire to drive a brand that doesn't fit his "cool" persona. I'm a Toyota/Lexus fanboy too. You're not wrong about the cars. But the only thing I see him even considering is, at best, a Lexus RC? And that's a stretch. He will be looking at Benz and Audi first, I promise you. If nothing works out he will maybe, maybe consider Lexus or Acura but very few people who are used to the way German cars drive will switch over to Japanese cars, unless money is the main motivation. He's not poor. I don't see him making that kind of sacrifice in driving pleasure to save a few bucks.

      @@MikeKayK Yeah, I get what you're saying there, but I wouldn't necessarily say that a top tier Lexus RC with all of the options, or maybe even an SC coupe if you can still buy those, would be a "downgrade" from what he was driving in this video here, (easily comparable I would say, just probably way more reliable and considerably less expensive to own... and again... Who REALLY WANTS to just be literally throwing their money away on (unnecessary) car repairs all the time?), but we'll just have to see what he ultimately gets next, (he mentioned he might prefer to have an SUV next instead of a car, that's why a top of the line full size Lexus SUV might be good for him), but whatever, I'm sure if he finds something he really DOES actually Love to drive AND own, (whatever it ends up being), then he'll surely make another video about it so we can all find out!

    The C3 Corvette has been my dream car and lifetime goal since 1968 when I first saw one on the cover of Road and Track. I bought one and rebuilt it. I replaced the 190hp 350 with a 405hp 383 stroker, put in a five speed manual, and a bunch of other mods. Driving it is the most fun a man can have with his pants on. I did this after I bought my dream house.

    Personally, I worked as auto mechanic for 10 years. I'd steer clear of European cars. Maintenance will always be more expensive, and they are a pain to work on compared to most Japanese cars. I bought a 2013 Honda civic this last August, putnin a Bluetooth touchscreen stereo and a backup camera and I'm perfectly happy with it. It only had 58,000 miles on it too. Fact is I'm sure that car will last me at least 10 years if not more, it's easy to do upgrades, easy to work on and parts are dirt cheap. Plus I paid for it 100% up front so I'm not making payments.
    My point being I'd rather have something paid off and dependable so I can have the money for other things.

Only BMW I ever test drove had a really hard seat, otherwise I liked it but decided to go for an Audi instead. I agree about the dealership experience being critical. As a car enthusiast I personally like keeping my cars for long periods of time. Tbh that G35 could still be fun now if you kept it and did little modifications here and there to keep it fun and updated. Personally I don’t think you fit the BMW mold, if Saab was still around it would be perfect however I think you should look into Lexus or Mercedes for comfort and softer suspension. Additionally a wild card option would be a Volvo with European delivery 😊. If you stay with BMW try out a manual transmission!

    I know the name doesn’t say “luxury”. But Toyota is an amazing, reliable brand and they’re getting better and better as far as looking luxurious. I sat in an Avalon a while back and it looked cool and was way nicer than what I was driving. And you won’t spend a ton. However I heard leases are more because the residual value is higher. Not positive 🤷🏻 you can lease a BMW for dirt cheap because they depreciate like crazy.

    Two thing that's ALWAYS true about construction.
    1. It's always behind on the deadline. Don't pay by the hour but by the job and hire an inspector at the end to check things out.
    2. Always over budget. There's a reason CON is the first word in construction. We know that materials fluctuate in price. A majority of contractors use this to their advantage and keep raising the prices during the job. Even if they don't have to. Always calculate at least 40% more than you think

If you buy a car, you'll have payments for a bit (unless you pay for all of it up front) but when you finish, you finished. One of my cars is paid off, less than 6 years old, and I don't need to make any more payments. Just a thought.

    Had a 1991 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 pickup that I loved. Looking back it was nothing special compared to many of the cars and trucks I've owned since but put in some bluetooth and maybe power windows and I'd take it back in a second. Plenty of great cars out there that are reliable. The comments section only sees Lexus but they are one of many and, truthfully, most of those folks don't keep any car long enough for problems to arise anyway. But you gotta go with what makes you happy. What always gets me is the guys who can't afford a ten year old Camry bashing the millionaire driving a Range Rover or Ferrari because they require a lot of maintenance or break a lot. Umm, they can afford to fix them and they like them so stop hating and do your own thing.
