Anastasia, I just started this video and wanted to say "Thank you" for removing the soft focus/filter on your face shots because they actually give me headaches 😂 You are BEAUTIFUL and while filters are useful, they just aren't needed for your videos ❤️
Agree! I came here to say this! She's stunning, didn't need them. I've been meaning to mention but they I saw someone post what I was going to say (though I would have been maybe a little less blunt? 😅) not just she doesn't need them but giving unrealistic expectations to younger girls watching too etc.
Anastasia, I'm so glad to see YOU (no filters 💖) keeping on trucking despite the horrible situation at the moment. Thanks for calling things out when you could, and knowing when to leave. You have a lot of talents to show the world, wherever you may be 🥰🌈💖 stay safe, and stunning, as ever 💖
I bought one of these kits as a beginner at home. The smell of the monomer was terrible. The powders looks a good amount until you realise the bottom of the jars are raised so the powder isn’t as much as you think. The clear acrylic powder turned yellowish. The white turned off white, as the pink had bubbles in it. The beads set up too fast. The brushes definitely clogs up however much you clean it. I did it on myself and wished I didn’t. Soak off too me ages. It nearly put me off doing acrylics altogether. Then I bought a trail size kit from naio nails and a real acrylic brush, and instantly I got to work with real and safe products that were so much easier to work with. So my advice to a beginner is, you’re better to buy a Trialsize kit from a reputable company that you know is safe. Even if it’s a little bit more money. Yes, you might not get as much products, but you get to work with safe products at home and they’re easier to work with so you should enjoy the experience.
Exactly! I started at home with the cheap kits and I had the same problems as you did. I burnt up a few cheap nail efiles trying to shape what I called Frankenstein nails. Agree again that trial sizes of quality projects is the way go and that is just what I did too. Much better results and not to time consuming to do my nails
Omg 12 years ago that was the same devil kit I got and it almost made me quit nails! I threw it all out after 10 minutes of opening it. Those powders definitely weren’t sealed at all back then so that’s an improvement I guess 😂
In nail school I had classmates buying these Amazon kits and the monomer in every one of them (coscelia included) was MMA which we found out when they smelled so bad and we tried the soak off and sure enough it was gummy and definitely not EMA even though that’s what the bottles say, it’s really sad and honestly it’s illegal here in the US
This actually happened to me as a new nail tech, I couldn't use it and I thought I must be crap at this, lol but I kept trying to make it work. Then I purchased another system and I was shocked at how good I was, Id say from struggling with the crappy one it made using another system soooo easy. These should NOT be for sale anywhere!! Love your work,xx
I thought I was the only one who loves the smell of monomer lol! I just made the leap to learn how to do acrylic nails and I must say your videos, and Susie from NCE have helped me a lot! I’ve only bought professional stuff so far and you definitely get what you pay for!
Thank you for all your videos! I am a beginner, like only done 2 sets of nails in my life and in the past couple months I have been binge watching and have quickly learned DO NOT BUY THE CHEAP! If you're going to start doing your nails, or even someone else's, splurge on the good stuff. I have bought some of the cheap "kits" from amazon and wish I had just went ahead and bought the good. Thank you again!
I used to think that getting the cheap kits was more economical for practice, but then I realized the products behave very different from good products so the practice wasn't doing me any good. I had to re-learn how to use the good products. You're gonna waste product as you learn. Accept this. Oh, and practice in the conditions you intend to be working under. If you're not going to be using odor-free monomer in your salon, don't practice with it. Practice with regular monomer. You need to get used to the smell in addition to how it behaves.
Im so glad you share these reviews. Thank you so much. You give honest reviews I love that. I cant remember what brand monomer i bought from amazon and it smelled sooo bad i couldn't work with it. I ended up returning it. Smell was just so strong. I felt like it was burning inside of my nose.
I got a born pretty kit like this for about $25... it works perfectly! Especially being a beginner. I get compliments all the time. Everyone thinks I get them professionally done! Also thanks to channels like yours... for all the tips and help!
Thank you for reviewing this because I am THAT PERSON who would buy it to give it a try, and then come down on myself for not doing it well! You have saved me from some major frustration!
So glad that you reviewed this kit. I've used the Kiss kit from Walmart and Dollar General stores here in the USA and I've had some success but I did have to have a wetter bead for that kit to work. I've been looking into getting a "legitimate" starter kit. Would love to see you review some of the higher end kits as well.
Hun you are so much better off buying a real kit. Young nails/ Mia secret/ ugly duckling are the brands I started with and they were amazing for beginners
@@saphirefalcon3090 Well I’m not saying that at all I understand truly I’ve been there. But after experiencing that acrylic system I saved and my first kit was Mia secret it come with everything and was 60$ and right now if anyone is looking young nails has there entire kits on sale for 79$ or 99$ I can’t remember for sure.
I have learned the hard way that these kits are only half useable products. I only had a handful of tools that I could use, just like you discovered. It was disheartening to not be able to make nice nails and not realize it was crappy products. Now I use better brands and have improved in application. Thanks for another helpful video
This doesn't have anything to do with nails but I'm always impressed with how pretty you are omg 😭 Also your channel has really changed and upgraded the way I do nails, thank you so much 💖
I remember when I first tried acrylic with a kit I bought at Walgreens- the one from Kiss. I had all these same issues, and my dorm SMELLED SO BAD of monomer I got complaints from my neighbors. I made it work, but now I use gel instead… haha!
This was kinda fun to watch😅. I've been using odorless for YEARS and it's the BEST stuff in the world!! If you're not patient with it, it won't work for you. But once you catch on you can't go back👍😊. I have never once had a problem with yellowing but maybe it's the brand I use. I've tried couple different brands and still don't remember yellowing🤔. It's very pleasant for beginners since it doesn't set as fast unless you're in a warm room 🤣. Also, odorless monomers allow you to keep your brushs for a very long time. I can use one brush for a good couple years because they don't dry out. Another quick note here, you can even use gel brushes with odorless monomer because it's so gentle👍😊👍. Just some stuff to think about😎
Actually I really appreciate this video I mean I started doing my nails by watching RUclips I think you were one of the first people I saw I live in Canada by the way and then there was Neil Creer education and others and that kit is first one I bought and I really did think it was me and my terrible skills because I was just starting I feel a lot better after seeing the struggle that you’re going through that wasn’t just me
OMG 😲 😱 What a nightmare 😫!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves for even putting this on the market for sale!!!! The look on your face when you opened that monomer said it all!!!! And they target this kit for beginner nail techs, how horrible is that. If I was just starting out and had to use this product I would have never wanted to do nails again. What a disaster!!!! Ty for sharing this tutorial with us, it's so great that you do these tutorials for us so we can be aware of what is a good product and what isn't. It amazes me what they will sell today just to make a buck & at other people's expense. Again Anastasia Ty so much. Take Care & God Bless ☮️💖🥰🙏 💅💎💅
I’ve purchased a few items from this brand, but I agree it’s a get what you pay for situation. The thermal color change gel polishes are not bad, and like you said you can’t really go wrong with a file, but the grit wears out fairly quickly. Thank you for this video, and I hope you are doing well.🥰
I brought this kit and a few similar ones, I've practiced for weeks and gave up thinking I'd never get it right, im so glad you made this video, but can you say what polymer is a good brand to buy and which brush id rather save and buy something better and maybe achieve better 💅
Omgoodness I got a different brand kit of just monomer and powders. The smell is horrendous. I'm happy to hear that all the issues I was having were not just me. The brush is a joke. Think it said it was a cutting brush. It was 10 dollars so like you I got a damping dish and a file 😂 definitely over paid. Thank you for doing this video so we know we aren't completely inadequate at acrylics ❤
i’m surprised you even cleaned that brush, i already know you’re never going to use that again! 😉 love your videos! thank you for always being so informative! 🥰
This reminds me of a cheap acrylic beginner set I once bought and used on 2 clients and they had terrible heat spikes, the one had heat spikes for 2 day then I told them to soak off
😂😂 Poor Anastasia! Going through all this just for us! This makes me extra glad I only do gel lol, though goodness knows cheap gels can be awful too. Is this the stuff that you had to put on your balcony and then it blew away? Oh, I'd keep those tweezers just for opening packages and stuff like that. That way if they get damaged it's no big loss hahaha
I love your videos. Can you maybe consider reviewing the “Neonail” sets, they are really popular in europe and I was wondering how well they preform. The sets apparently have everything you need to do nails at home from lamp, different gel polishes even files
Thank you for trying this brand, I've seen these kits being sold everywhere. I love a good bargain & to save $$ because of my strict budget, but I've been afraid to try because I'm not familiar with those cheap brands online. I think I'll just stick to my favorite brands of "Young Nails", "Mia Secret", & "IBD" because they have always worked the best for me. They are also the easiest to find to purchase in limited supply stores in my area. Thank you again for posting video because you've helped me save money 😊❤
After graduating from Manicuring school (in the 80's) I only worked with No Lift brand. I still only use it to this day. But it's extremely difficult to find. Any recommendations for a better acrylic brand that's easier to find? I don't do nails professionally any longer. I just do my own.
I am guilty of buying this kit as my first purchase once I was a beginner🙈 Since my kit also included some gel, I put the acrylic in the back of my drawers after my first try and started my journey with gel instead. FYI: I can recommend a great online courses for you if you have problem sculpting nice smile lines,LOL. Great video Anastasia!😘💕 Take care sweetie💕
I tried that acrylic and urgh!!!! Never again! I'm trying hard gel at the moment. I will try Acrylic again at some point but I'll definitely pay the extra. Lol 😂 Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴🌺
I wish everyone could get a good quality kit to learn with. Young nails has a great kit. I wish they had it when I first started. I spent way over 75 on all my products that didn't even work very well. I spent $75 on the young nails kit when it was on sale.
I bought some really cheap monomer on Amazon just to do 3d with. Nothing for nails. It is absolutely mma. They tried to tell me it wasn't but I am like 98% sure it is. Anyway it's not good for my good brushes. Not even my good cheap brush. I have some brushes like that 1 that I got when I first started n it works perfectly with it
OMG, I have exactly the same products that I ordered off Amazon. Yes I agree about the monomer, it smells awful. I kept the same as yous but I kept the tips for practising designs only.
I remember trying OPI odorless system many years ago (hated it) and it had a weird, almost fishy smell. Then you had to file the weirdo coating off. This seems like, and it maybe the brush but I doubt it, it’s hard to get the proper ratio liquid to powder.
Omg those kits are literally the exact thing I used wen I first started, after the one from the drug store. Omg I didn't kno at all where to get nail products and that was what I found. I think I went thru 3 or 4 of those kits b4 I was able to find a real nail supply store lol so crazy to see u opening that cuz u kno better but I didn't at the time lol so funny
Yes I think I bought this system and I thought it was me I could not work with it it was a mess .I tried so hard to figure out how to do a nail .I through it out .
I had a really bad experience with the seller of this brand after I bought the 5pc set of hard gel. Dude was a complete jerk and the clear lack of quality control (specks of who knows what inside the sealed jars) yeah never again. I’m not surprised this was a headache for you.
I bought their polygel kit and omg it was a mess! So runny and hard to control. It kept going in my cuticles even holding my finger down! It was horrible! Then it was hard to file with a hand file. Polygel is supposed to be easier to file. It was like I was filing acrylic, but worse.
@@marielanders4806 OMG! 😮 That’s awful! I wonder what the heck they’re putting in their products 🧐 like what would make polygel runny and hard af to file? 🤔 Did it have any kind of smell to it? My gels didn’t have any noticeable smell, but there were black specks mixed in every pot of it 😤 aside from the mess that was delivered to me, every one of them was leaking even though they were sealed. They were stuck to the bag! I recorded a video of me just trying to open it, then sent it + pics to the seller. They advertise under the description hassle free return or exchange if you have any problems just contact them, I did and the guy was so mean! Refused to refund me more than $2 out of the $7 or $8 that I paid, so I asked for an exchange and he lied saying that he couldn’t bcuz there were no more in stock and it would take at least 6 months for me to get it 😒 (Amazon shows how many they have left in stock, and it said 9) so I screenshot everything and tried to leave it all in a review to warn others, and Amazon deleted my review! 😤 I kept trying and it just kept being removed!
@@krystalfukinmarie757 It kinda had a little smell, but not too bad. I honestly don't know because after the first use I threw everything away. Some of the polygels were leaking as well even though they were sealed. I think it's the brand itself. I wasted $30 on that stupid kit. I bought some from SXC (the glow in the dark kit) and OMG it was a night and day difference in products. Everything was so much better. Omg that's horrible!!! I'm so sorry that happened to you!! That's ridiculous!
Oh my goodness! I tried that kit a few years back and I just thought it was me not knowing much I got so frustrated with my application of the product I just gave up thinking acrylic is just not for me.
Thats exactly what happened to me. Got the same product years ago and thought acrylic was not for me. I use gel and polygel. Never used good acrylic product
Lol This was my first kit I bought. I got mines from Aliexpress. It was terrible. I threw that mess away. Yes the monomer is very strong dries super fast and the acrylic powder was terrible. I still have that brush. Lol
Thank you for the review, I will not be buying anything from this brand, was looking at that same kit on Amazon, I'm glad I didn't buy it. Your reaction to the monomer made me think it had MMA in it
I wish I had seen this video before I bought it. I'm new and thought this was a good price for a practice kit. It was a nightmare! I wrote an honest review and hope no one else bought this kit.
Pretty sure I had that exact same kit when I first started like 56 years ago I had a heckuva time with it mine too I was also new but the brushes or terrible and of course so is the monomer I’ve come too far to go back to that stuff again I threw it all out
It's a shame that the worst part of an acrylic kit is the acrylic cause everything else in it is pretty useful. I got one of these kits a couple years ago and still use the glitters today. Could you test out the Cooserry acrylic kit next??
I remember buying this kit a very long time ago and I remember how terrible it was and it totally turned me off acrylic. Now I realize that acrylic is NOT like the crap in this kit,so I may try again.
Omg im so glad i found this because the first time i was getting into gel polish i tried that exact brand and it was HORRIBLE!!! It had a burnt plastic smell and the pigment was kind of like separating from the polish… never bought from that brand again
I haven't been able to stop thinking of you and your family. Are you all ok? Is there anything we can do to help? You're my favorite RUclipsr and I've been worried sick. If I can help in anyway please let me know
I have their acrylic, it works much better with Modleones monomer, I think their monomer is terrible. The white set hard almost on the brush it was so bad.
I made the mistake of buying this stuff when I first started doing my own nails. It turned me off acrylics completely. Someday when I can afford to, I will buy more quality acrylics and try again. For now I am just using gel systems
I have had that monomer and it does stink and dries way too fast and yes it gives you a bad headache! I never use it ! The acrylic powders are good if used with a better monomer.
OMG! I hawe the same acrylic kit at home, and i alsow throw away almost everything! I just keep the same thing's that you. I was so angry at first, but for 20euro's is not worth to be angry!! They full me and i'm shame for this purchase!🤦🙈😠 (Sorry for my eanglish).. Much love and peace from sLOVEnia!😉🤘
Iv used the polygel ket by the same brand when i started to do my own nails and it's was horrible i really hated polygel and thoughts that all the polygels are the same
so sad to see their acrylic is bad, I have some gel polishes from them I really like, mind you I got these awhile ago, so they may not have the same quality control anymore?

The cuticle cutter is good for taking the silver lids off the gel pots. You would need to file the cuticle pusher to use it lol 😆!
Great video Anastasia! The best thing you can do is give it a one star rating and warn people not to buy it.
What practice finger or hand would you recommend? I was looking at them the other day and gave up! 😅
I tried that acrylic and urgh!!!! Never again! I'm trying hard gel at the moment. I will try Acrylic again at some point but I'll definitely pay the extra. Lol 😂 Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴🌺
Girl! That stuff is caustic! RUN! Curious if MMA is listed in contents.
There’s no list of ingredients 😬
@@Nailcou 😟😱
When you got knocked back by the monomer smell, I was sure its MMA.
I wish everyone could get a good quality kit to learn with. Young nails has a great kit. I wish they had it when I first started. I spent way over 75 on all my products that didn't even work very well. I spent $75 on the young nails kit when it was on sale.
Oh I think the Monomer is MMA, as often in those cheap Sets 🙈
I bought some really cheap monomer on Amazon just to do 3d with. Nothing for nails. It is absolutely mma. They tried to tell me it wasn't but I am like 98% sure it is. Anyway it's not good for my good brushes. Not even my good cheap brush. I have some brushes like that 1 that I got when I first started n it works perfectly with it
😱 Careful with smelling monomer. Thanks for this video. I didn't know about aliexpress.
OMG, I have exactly the same products that I ordered off Amazon. Yes I agree about the monomer, it smells awful. I kept the same as yous but I kept the tips for practising designs only.
Luv u ,Anastasia! 🤩
16:55 same happened to me when I bought some acrylic from amazon
I got that kit and is it GOD awful ! That company needs a boycott!!
Could the powders maybe work better with REAL monomer?
I remember trying OPI odorless system many years ago (hated it) and it had a weird, almost fishy smell. Then you had to file the weirdo coating off. This seems like, and it maybe the brush but I doubt it, it’s hard to get the proper ratio liquid to powder.
21:36 omg u gimme nail career education vibe 😹 luckily u sealed that bottle lmao. Love u
Great review and you are so right about this product. I bought this product and it was horrible.
Is there a kit you do recommend for beginners
Omg those kits are literally the exact thing I used wen I first started, after the one from the drug store. Omg I didn't kno at all where to get nail products and that was what I found. I think I went thru 3 or 4 of those kits b4 I was able to find a real nail supply store lol so crazy to see u opening that cuz u kno better but I didn't at the time lol so funny
Yes I think I bought this system and I thought it was me I could not work with it it was a mess .I tried so hard to figure out how to do a nail .I through it out .
Wow thank you for such a amazing contenet🥰🥰
Glad you enjoy it!
omg you replied it was always my dream thank you so muchhh
I am so glad you turned off the filter!
Pretty sure I had that exact same kit when I first started like 56 years ago I had a heckuva time with it mine too I was also new but the brushes or terrible and of course so is the monomer I’ve come too far to go back to that stuff again I threw it all out
Ana will miss you so much
Could it be mma monomer? Typically that type has a horrific smell it's a pain to take off
😍😍😍 love ya
It's a shame that the worst part of an acrylic kit is the acrylic cause everything else in it is pretty useful. I got one of these kits a couple years ago and still use the glitters today. Could you test out the Cooserry acrylic kit next??
You should test Mia Secret products 💕
I remember buying this kit a very long time ago and I remember how terrible it was and it totally turned me off acrylic. Now I realize that acrylic is NOT like the crap in this kit,so I may try again.
Omg im so glad i found this because the first time i was getting into gel polish i tried that exact brand and it was HORRIBLE!!! It had a burnt plastic smell and the pigment was kind of like separating from the polish… never bought from that brand again
Oh no!
I can totally understand, I would've hate acrylic if it's like this one 😬
Monomer is probably mma, and the brush looks like a 3d brush. Xx
My wife uses this brand👍
This may be MMA. Not a good buy. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah, Could be :(
I have had that monomer and it does stink and dries way too fast and yes it gives you a bad headache! I never use it ! The acrylic powders are good if used with a better monomer.
I would have kept the powder and tried it with a different monimar
Wow yeah I didn’t want to go toooo cheap Lol the kiss kit was enough lolol
Clear works to
Iv used the polygel ket by the same brand when i started to do my own nails and it's was horrible i really hated polygel and thoughts that all the polygels are the same
Its was sticky and the one nail could take me 30 mins with dual forms! 😂
so sad to see their acrylic is bad, I have some gel polishes from them I really like, mind you I got these awhile ago, so they may not have the same quality control anymore?
This is the first product I tried by this brand, so honestly I have no idea, maybe gel polishes are better
Do you think that monomer may be MMA?
