  • Love them or hate them, electric powerfins are here to stay! For many paddlers they can be a great paddle aid if used in the right way.
With Aqua Marina being one of the first brands to bring out a powerfin, the Bluedrive S fin with its built in battery, it was a natural step to make a powerfin that had the potential to go further and last longer. The new Bluedrive K is supplied without a battery allowing you to customise your ride and add your own battery size to suit your paddle adventure needs.
For paddlers like Reuben wanting to use the Bluedrive K as more of a full time paddle assist to use when fishing and getting somewhere further afield, the ability to add more or just a bigger battery really is a game changer!
If fishing isn't your thing then this video may not be for you !

Hello!Very nice video having wonderful time in the sea!I want to ask you if you think that an inflatable kayak with 2 adults in it,can have a speed of 4-5 km/h in mode 2 but not in lake conditions,in calm sea waters.

Hey, I think in calm conditions, yes it should be able to travel at 4kmh. Obviously depends how heavy both the adults are. Thanks Reuben

@@SUPboardermag Thanks Reuben! I also have a Caliber 398 (my only kayak for now) and I just bought the bluedrive K. I was trying to figure out how to connect a battery and I came across your video. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

I would like to buy the same one, what do you think is a great fishing boat? Looks very stable in a windy day!

I haven't use that many boats for fishing to be honest. But this boat was very stable and I did enjoy using it. So I will recommend, it but I'm sure there's other good ones out there also. Thanks Reuben

I just got something really similar to the kayak in this video (Bote zeppelin 12.6.. almost identical) to use as a tender for my trailer sailer, because it’s easy to inflate next to the boat once we get where we’re going. With the blue drive, you can’t lift it up like an outboard. You’re wedging some rocks in there.. looks like a bit of a pain in the but… what are your thoughts? You probably wouldn’t want much weight sitting on the blue drive would you?? Empty kayak and turn upside down??? What would your approach be if you were using this setup long term/ for days at a time??

The blue drive fin does seam quite sold and can take a bit of weight. But yeah you wouldn't want to put to much on top of it. But turning the board over or slipping the fin out would be easiest.
