This is freaking genius with the balloons - I was racking my brain as to how to do caves without 3D printing or buying

I think this would look great with a planter incorporated in the design

I’ve tried a few they don’t look appealing in brown they look like a coiled you know what from a dog plain grey or lighter colors may work or a better way to stamp out the middle.

just saw this IM thought cementitious material was deadly for aquarium fish? If this works this is genius

This is brilliant, im abit late to the party but i was wondering what you used to colour the cement? was it a iron oxide? Here in NZ we can pay upwards of $30 for a rubbish looking pleco cave, I would love to make my own using your balloon method. Thanks heaps for sharing

Excellent idea, does the cement mess with the parameters of the water or the lime in the cement burn the fishes gills?

I haven’t had any problems in large volumes of water and I allow plenty of cure time too. Regardless always doing water changes too

If you was to add fibreglass matting to that cement you’ll be able to mould it like clay and it would be a hell of a lot stronger for the Bloons I mean

Does your PH rise when you use these? I've seen several DIY "live rock" videos where they make the rocks out of cement and aggregate, but they have to soak the rocks for 4-8 weeks to get the PH down from 10 to 8.

I haven’t had a problem in large volumes of water I could see in a concern in maybe a 10 gal or under with a lot of stones but cured properly and a good soaking or hot water rise should be good. Cement takes years to break down and we’re always doing water changes anyways

have you used this for any length of time in your tanks (cement) ones?

does it leach or such into the water, does it affect Ph or anything else?

I just subbed thought you did a great job with the video. I use cement at work some times so this is something I'm going to do for sure. I am thinking of adding some sticks into the cement as well like like branches off it. Where r u from? I'm in NJ near NYC and accent sounds like it could be same area.
