- Piazza is one of the major business centers of Addis Ababa, partly built and inhabited by Europeans and Asians in the early 20th century. It has since been a business and administrative center of the Capital City and a tourist attraction. Addis Ababa's certain neighborhoods are currently undergoing significant reconstruction by the Government, of which Piazza is the major one. I've presented in this video the unusually busy movement of people relaxing near the fountains of Adwa Memorial Monument in Piazza on a Sunday evening.

Addis Ababa, founded in 1886, is the capital city of Ethiopia and the business, financial and cultural center of the Country. It is also the seat of African Union and numerous other international organizations (the 3rd largest diplomatic center in the world, behind New York City and Geneva, with many embassies and missions). It is often called the "African Capital" due to its historical, diplomatic, and political significance for the continent. The City is located in the geographic center of the Country.
Standing 2,355 meters above sea level, it is the third highest capital in the world. This historically significant city in its enchanting mountain setting is recognized as one of the world¹s most fascinating and beautiful cities.
Addis Ababa has an estimated population of about 8 million with an eight percent annual growth rate. Each of the country's multitude of ethnic groups is represented somewhere in the capital, as are many foreign residents from all parts of the world who contribute to the city's cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Amharic, the national language, is widely spoken throughout the country and is predominant in Addis Ababa. The principal foreign language is English, but you will also find many people who speak French, Italian, and Arabic.
Ethiopia is often called the origin of humankind due to various hominid fossil discoveries such as the Australopithecine "Lucy". Recent DNA evidence suggested, After analyzing the DNA of almost 1,000 people around the world, that humans originated and spread from around what is now Addis Ababa 100,000 years ago. The fossilized skeleton, and a plaster replica of the early hominid Lucy (known in Ethiopia as Dinkinesh) is one of the numerous preserved hominid skeletons at the Ethiopian National Museum in Addis Ababa.
Addis Ababa has more than enough history and sites to warrant more than just a stopover.

Addis ababa people have never seen a water fountain before. The kids are playing in the water and creating a mess. 😂
I agree, I imagine it will take time, but the city has to come up with some sort of a way to force people to use the crosswalks.

Interesting point you raise, there does seem to be quite a few negative undertones to what is such a colossal national achievement? Maybe there's also a kind of fear from uncertainty, as much as there is a jealousy?
Are the career and employment opportunities in Addis Ababa being made clear by government? Are there various industry training programs being offered... as the politics of promises and assurances might help some...
@@townstunsltd6727 yes they are creating a lot of jobs, all these projects requires thousands of thousands of human labor and knowledge. That alone is a job that was created for engineers and skilled laborers. In addition to that these projects attract tourism which generates income to the city, region and the country. Ethiopians in general have hate problems and they can't stand other people's achievement once they have that bias opinion toward the leadership.
Enjoying what? Seeing light? They will go home and sleep with out food. Just for few days ya right. Then they will ask food..
