I had a diagnosed schizoaffective episode a few years ago. What I realised is that my expectations towards relationships in general were off the track. Also, my affective needs became abnormal due to extremely stressful events in my life. I was looking for support and kept failing. In my experience, a small ajusment in the thinking process goes a long way in feeling more centered. For me, expections from relationships and my outlook on life. For others, might be different but I truly beleive it is possible to improve the life experience by thinking differently.

I think that as long as I am self reliant and keep other people’s noses out of my business I do quite a lot better than if I chat to people as the people that I meet day to day are not my friends and they never will be so I don’t feel that I need people to make me feel better about my mistakes as I know that talking to outsiders is one

Was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder 37 years ago, at the time it was a fairly unusual diagnosis. Had active episodes every few years and am considered medication-resistant. I would definitely be willing to be involved in a study, ask me some questions, take some blood and contribute to further understanding of the brain--hell ya.

Ive had a schizoaffective disorder diagnosis for the past 15yrs and when i first started watching this, how he talks and thr movements for sure mimic mine as well. I get distracted alot by my voices n shadow people at times, so if i stutter alot or pause a long time its cuz im focusing in on my hallucinations and i look off into the distance alot because i see through the wall at times at things im sure most people dont do or see or because im on guard and my paranoia points out every1 in my general area.

I had a close encounter with death. I had a dream of heaven. I saw lush grassy narrow mountains.. a waterfall as high as the clouds. Grass reflected rainbow light from the sun. Dragons were everywhere. Around that time I had a dream about a red room with no walls. Jesus was at a peddlestill with a few angles lined up. Then I saw an angle with beautiful armor. There was a small portal of fire that consumed him. Its been a year and a half and I haven't had very many voices to none. Its been bliss but I'm still bipolar. I get tired from my meds. I take them before I go to sleep. Might be a good reason I don't hear voices too.

agree that at that very moment your growing and truly believe this cuz its helps the suffering is needed for you to become more awake then most !! i believe my suffering is for a greater purpose for something better in me ..." struggle breeds greatness"..." the first step to peace is to make your 1st step in HELL!!!!!

In Finland you can be treated for psychotic symptoms even if you never experienced them. They never actually do the work of making differential diagnosis, just medicate you and let the nurses(who have no experience in the differences of diagnosing mental illnesses/neurodevelopmental issues) do the work of making everything you say fit into the boxes the doctor has guessed during one appointment. Nobody's being critical and they just diagnose people with whatever and give mood stabilisers for everyone.

Better than using icon symbols so ppl can talk back to their voices. The cutting edge? Yes. No. I hope not. P-docs need some place to put declining research $.
