The offense will take a step back from a stat perspective (probably), but that doesn't mean that it won't be just as effective. We lost the time of possession in every game we lost last year and this team is set up much better for a more 'ball-control' approach instead of big play gonzo from start to finish... the benefits this can have for our defense is off the charts. If offense drops to 15th nationally, but defense comes up to 50th nationally, that's good enough to get into the play-offs to be sure.

If they run the ball like I think/hope they can this offense will be better this team will be better, it may not score as many points but I believe the good running game helps the defense as well, running game and defense still wins championships

Michigan just proved this last year. You’re spot on.

Good point, but the D is still gonna be bad and nowhere near championship capable.

@@robertclark5874 I don't think it will be bad as some think it will, and ball-control can have an exponential effect on the effectiveness of your defense. Let's see what happens with the transfer portal.

I feel like having the “no names” on offense helps the team scheme. When you have a big name. Everybody knows it’s a force fed to that player. When you have good/great no name players. The ball is spread and you have to defend everybody equally. Only difference is losing JD legs but Nuss doesn’t have to be that. Just be quick and elusive enough to keep the offense on the field

LSU offense will be more complete this year. Might sound crazy but look at the returning experience and depth.

Alabama's offense looked alright under Mac Jones. I think we will be better than fine in that regard. Defense will be better, but how much? I got LSU at 10-2.

That should be good enough for the playoffs I hope

I'm confused. Isn't Nuss a competent scrambler on the same level as Burrow. Why are we acting like we don't have any kind of QB running game. This take is ridicules. Give Daniels his due without not giving Nuss his dues. (Double negative pun intended) Come on guys! GEAUX TIGERS!

I am sick and tired of hearing BOUT JD nad "lost production"! reading between the lines... The O is being tooled to take pressure off the defense.. ball control control the clock .. high 3rd % and time of possesssionwill still having the quick strike capability firmly in place.. I am hoping the 24 D will Gel into an effective playoff caliber unit at least by the middle of OCT.
My concern is how Kelly has repeatedly not had the team ready for big games , he seems to overdo the "resting and avoiding injuries" to the point they are not really practicing. Also paying these coaches all this money... coach and get the best talent on the field... and deemphasize relative side issues
