Great I'm going to get one! Excellent worthwhile video, very clear, well done! (Retired CarAndClassic Founder)
thank you, I put more effort into degreasing parts before using the tank, but it is a very worthwhile investment for the workshop
Best video on this topic. Thanks dude
Exactly what you need to see when still on the fence over a ultrasonic cleaner 👍 great to see real world before and Afters.
Thanks 👍
Brilliant video thanks for sharing, informative & gives a good idea of the size of things you can fit in the 3L tank cheers 👍
7:27 The ultrasonic transducers actually produce a fair amount of heat in these things.
Turn the temp to max and use vinegar
Love the way you speak. Nice use of the word "skanky" hahaha
5:50 I've not tried videoing mine just yet, but they seem to come out really loud on camera for some reason.
you need to put way less water and mesure product precisly and put already hot water and work on 30min cycle to have better result :)
thank you
that "behold" had me:))
i work harder to de grease before it goes in but that tank is still giving sterling service
Just ordered one of these myself for a vlog project, thx for the fill info I was wondering bout the actual amount with that fill line. Other vid I saw showed the heat would rise past the set temp as well.
Why are these things not simply listed with the exact litres they are? I mean litres aren't exactly a variable unit of measure open to interpretation across the world :)
gt sonic or vevor one better ? coz i have 5 of this and delta one and its broken fast like 6 month or 8 month being used and not frequenty use too
Maybe, this one is still going strong 5 years on
@@churchhouseclassics which one? gt or vevor?
the transducers run at about 1000volt,if the tank isnt grounded they will bite, also they hold charge like a capacitor!
Excelente vídeo e explicações. Obrigado por compartilhar seus conhecimentos. Parabéns pelo seu trabalho.
Thank you
You answered my quest at the end it is a rover V8! Pretty bad when you can look a piston and know where it comes from......
Hi
I'm convinced 🙂
yeah next time try to pure all the solven't in, then keep it for day or two for air to run out the solven't see if that will work better
Hi ya. Could break calipers clean up in these to get all the gunk from the seal seats
Not sure, decent degrease first. if you can split the calliper then life will be a shed load easier
@@churchhouseclassics cheers fella. Iam wondering to invest in one
You had to degas water for better result. Atleast this is what they say about the liquid
We love your video's❤
many thanks
Nicely done, how do I get some of your degreaser?
Is it still working? Did you have any issues with the heater? Any noteworthy issues with this device? Thx!
Let him think about it for awhile.
Nope, still working strong. This is a long term test indeed
Great video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it👍🍻
It's helpful
It's actually way less efficient than what I thought it would be...
Its more for grease and dirt not carbon or scail
Instead of salt next time try sand
will do
I bought the same one. Pretty happy except it only seems to heat whilst in ultrasonic mode. I thought you could preheat tgis style. Does your one preheat? Cheers
The heat does work when the sound is off but takes a long time to heat I turn mine one 30 minutes before I use it and it will get to about 15c after 15 minutes of sound it's at 40-50c
@@tbah9402 thanks. I bought another one that appeared identical. The preheat world on that one thankfully
@@tbah9402 i have mine at 70 80 degres
Is this still working? What's your thoughts after 4 years?
It is still working and very well. I will do a follow up vid. I degrease items thoroughly before now. It is excellent at carb bodies but I do need to rotate them as the ultasonic sensors only seem to work from the bottom of the tank and directly up.
@@churchhouseclassics You could always make another with more of those stuck on the sides.
well i think your going about the cleaning of stuff in totally the wrong way.. before putting a part in this tank you need t ograb a wire brush and get off as much crap as possible. the whole idea of the ultra sonic is to get into parts you cannot normally get to easy... and for cleaning pistons you need to put these in gunk for about 2 hours and then brush them off. once as clean as you can get them put them into this tank on full heat with some fairey liquid for 20- 30 minutes.. dont put mega greasy crap in there with a ton of carbon on it that,s not the idea of these machines.. these are more for the delicate stuff like carbs where you cant get into and for final cleaning up of things like pistons and rods....
Spot on, I am learning on the job and when I got this tank there was so little info available on how to use it👍
Sounds like a space craft from flash Gordon!!!!! 😂
Sorry dude but that's not how you use snd ultrasonic.
Ok, class is in session, lol
Some of my fav solutions to use are ;
Vinegar and water to deuche your parts in,
My prefered is simple green and water,
There are many other combos like amonia and water, (but amonia blackens carbs) experiment try commercial mixes, make your own, find out what works best on the material your cleaning.
Next you need to break down the parts, you should've pressed the wrist pin out. You want solid parts, so they can absorb the sound waves and dislodge the dirt, the wrist pins act like shock absorbers, no good.. Avoid if possible
Also you don't need to fill the tank if you have a few small parts, you can just get a bourbon or rocks GLASS , MADE FROM GLASS, not a plastic glass, fill the glass with solution and set it on the dry bottom, the occilators are in the bottom and the sonic waves will transfer into the glass.
Also a ultrasonic will not clean soft material parts, like things made of rubber, the rubber absorbs the sound waves and does nothing.
Ultra sonics are primarily used for microscopic cleaning therefore heavy gunk interpheres with their operation by absorbing the sound waves, therefore as much as possible the heavy gunk should be knocked off first
Lastly heaters are a waste of money, ultrasonics create their own heat as they work, the longer they run, the hotter they get, think retarded microwave..
I've been using these from L&R (b4 someone asks, mine is a L&R Quantrex 210 no heat] for a long time for oxygen cleaning diving regulators, cleaning carbs and other parts and jewelery, they work great when you use them correctly..
Hope this help some of you guys who've never used one before.
Sorry guys, I can't figure out how to edit the post,
Anyhow if you use the glass trick, put the glass in the dry tank, then pure some water in the the tank about half way up the glass, that's the best way..
Sorry frickin boob tube won't let me make changes
Heaters may be a waste, but apparently anything over 2L seems to have one.
So If want to do a few minutes of cleaning, how many hours does it take for the micro cavitation to heat my solution.
Also, Since you're utilizing chemical reactions, it might help to know that the time factor directly corilates with temperature... basically, heat speeds up any chemical reaction, which would mean in your case it would speed up the cleaning process or better described for some of the chemicals you recommend it would speed up the cleaning process and the dissolving and ruining of the aluminum parts... But that's not your problem right?
Both of the products you speak of will ruin aluminum, "only" pistons in this case, in several different ways such as surface finish & integrity to varying degrees depending on the product & what manner &or temperature.
anyone with parts cleaning needs should look into the "hot tanking" process utilized in transmission & engine shops to aerospace for cleaning metal like new again. this process works great, provided the solution you're using isn't detrimental to the metal substrate, which many household items/cleaners can, let alone industrial cleaners. it's easy & cheap, since you can use a crock pot on low for little stuff, or even build a large unit for little to no money invested, if larger items or more capacity are required. provided the solution they're in isn't detrimental to the substrate,
I order one of this as shown in video for regulators too... hope it does the job and thank you very much for the tips. Go Dive.
Soda blaster for cleaning
I wondered if it will clean rusty bike parts like rusty chain etc also oily greasy parts
not so sure it will get rid of rust if it is heavy. I degreased a chain which was quite stiff and seized. the tank loosened up all of the joints nicely.
I have a similar ultra-sonic cleaner. I find the cleaning power, as you have shown here, very minimal. They are the most OVERRATED cleaning devices ever in my opinion. After 40 mins the dirt on engine parts has only SLIGHTLY loosened but I end up using wire brushes with paraffin then finish with Brillo pads to get the thing really clean...NO, my cleaner IS working normally ...I have done Aluminium shredding tests and it shows the thing is working strongly but as said ultrasonic cleaning is only of any use if the item is just slightly dirty...most engine parts are very dirty, and the cleaners fail to clean them much even after a very extended session. The only really effective cleaning system is Aqua/vapour blasting or bead blasting on surfaces that are not as delicate.
I absolutely agree, I need to do a follow up to this video. degrease is an absolute must before thinking about using these units. I have experimented with a few additives and have got it behaving better
when turned on sounds like flash gordons space ship
So ethier more solution or longer??
I guess that you should have got the worst of it off first
Ps I don't own one, yet
yep, a good degrease first has made this way more efficient
@@churchhouseclassics
Good good.
I couldn't really listen to the video at this moment in time, so couldn't catch your accent. So what country do you come from?
Is this ultra sonic easy available in Britain?
vince King I am from UK, yes easily available from many vendors including amazon and ebay
@@churchhouseclassics u sell these? I will keep this in mind. 👍
Do you have to fill it to capacity to use the heater?
I am not sure how effective it would be if not filled to capacity. There is a warning about running the device without a solution
What brand is this cleaner?
ruclips.net/video/rMS1iV0GFZU/видео.html
Try white vinegar
a top tip, and one that I generally use but since this video was made. I need to remake it. Many thanks
@@churchhouseclassics no worrys
What's the rate? 1:50 too for the white vinegar?
you have wrong HZ this is 40hz thats not for carparts , carparts ect nead 28 hz
28hz is more powerful but also more expensive. I find the 40hz unit to be pretty effective once I use it correctly and degrease beforehand. for the money it is good
@@churchhouseclassics yes but if you shuld do it right it nead be 28hz
@@Mrsvetsare He can do it however he wants to.
@@legendfpv Lern the right way
An you put oil in that tank
no he didn't
you dont need an Ultrasonic Cleaner to clean pistons, just soak it in chemicals
Probably be better of putting piston in 2lit Coca Cola bath
I need to do a follow up for this, my most popular video by some distance. degrease first is the trick. Not so sure that I would subject the bushes and alloy to cola - have you seen what it does to kids milk teeth?
cleaning is not successful
I am getting better at using this unit. degreasing first is essential
@@churchhouseclassics 👍🙏
Altra sonic not efisen to clean,so bad
For such a greasy parts, fill it with diesel.
I would never use a solvent or fuel in these machines. I like my workshop too much. I need to do an update to this video. I thoroughly degrease before it goes in now.
Temp to low..
dont film with a camera like that. disgusting
dont watch then, the choice is yours.... That said I have updated the kit and am improving 👍
