Intex E90 Error - How To Fix It For Good

  • Just buy a replacement filter pump for $50 from Intex, and keep it around for when your pump fails. And it WILL fail. Why bother with a warranty claim? It could take weeks for them to replace the pump under warranty. From all the reviews I've read, Intex customer support sucks.
    If you have a pump in stock, you can replace it in less than 30 minutes - your water won't even have time to get cold.

    This is absolutely the simplest and most correct fix. After realizing the common problem and the easy cost effective solution, I bought two new pumps through INTEX… Payed the same amount in shipping for two of them versus just one… Shocking. Put my new pump in in just a few minutes, and I am right back in business. Trying to do any fix it to these cheap small pumps is a waste of time. The investment is minimal for new pumps, and so is the time it takes to install a new one and be right back in business. This video is the best of all of them!!

    Great video and advice. That said, I ran the unit with both filters and the return taken off for 5 minutes (after bubble purging also), changed the 2 filters which were only in for a few weeks and looked pretty good and that solved my problem. The return being removed alone did nothing to help. There was also a little bit of black pudding skin like guck returned into the main tub area that I see from time to time. I am thinking it’s residue from the internal pump area as the filter would def. Catch it from going in. Bottom line is clean water and filters sometimes makes all the difference.

    I got that code. Cleaned my filters. Only put filter back on intake. But...let it run a minute without filters because air was in the pump. Running fine since for $0.

    Many times when air stuck in the pump will come up with E90. You can power it off then power it back on. Now push the filter button (pump on) then push it again (pump off) in 2 seconds. Repeat it until no bubbles are pushed out.

    Very helpful video! My pump got to where it wouldn't restart if it turned off. But, I took it apart and tapping on the motor would get it to start. The shaft and propeller looked great so I lubed the shaft and "spinny" parts with Vasoline and for now it seems to be working normally again. I may need to replace the motor in the future but my tub is only a year old.

    In order to replace the pump did you detach the hoses from the base to the spa? It’s only logical, but did you just place the rubber caps to prevent the water from leaking out? Seems like it would start gushing out as soon as you started unscrewing. Also I haven’t seen how to replace the pump on this particular unit, do you just flip it upside down like the other videos? Or can you access it from the top?- I’m sad intex is out of stock of these pumps right now. I can’t find them anywhere.

    • @Bridget82267
      @Bridget82267 Год назад +1

      It should have came with caps... 2 inside caps and 2 outside caps for them holes... Cap it off inside before removing.... Otherwise yes it will all start gushing out. You have to take the filters off first, then caps go on.

    • @paulbuckmaster710

      Exactly, normally you simply replace the paper filter but eventually the pump itself dies. There are 4 screws on the Blue Intex spas that hold the base together. Once they are off the replacement takes 5 minutes. I"m back up and running in less than 20 minutes.

    Hey berry I go a great solution for heating up your spa when you have drain it and start over with new water or reheat your existing water .? What I do is fill my spa , with water that is heated up to 110* degree water coming from your garden hose and ran thru a propane heater used for taking hot showers when you go camping these little portable units run off of a 5 gallon propane tank and heat the water from your garden hose one past thru snd puts out 90 to 120 degrees water continuously until your spa is full and the is hot and ready to go as soon as its filled up. Cost you no electricity to heat it up and takes about 30 min to be fully heated and ready to go.? Costs you only about 1 gallon of propane.? After that you put the spa back up to its normal location on to the pump. Recommend CoscosX model 8L 41000 btu. Water output up to 113 F 1.58 GPM comes with propane hose And regulator. Purchase on line Amazon Cost &129.95. And the bonus is its portable so yoi can have hot showers if you go camping

  • @damienharding5737
    @damienharding5737 2 года назад

    Hey guys. I bought one today second hand and had the code. Watched alot of videos and decided I'd fix it myself. I'm not an electrician or anything like that. But basically I took the pump off from the bottom. Took the top section off the pump. And where the propeller is on the pump there is a little rod going through it. I'm assuming plastic. Anyways that was broken! So I found a nail that was the same diameter. Snipped the ends off and made it the same length as the broken plastic one. And I've had no issue with it. Litterally took me an hour.

    • @damienharding5737
      @damienharding5737 2 года назад

      The rod going through the propeller is to keep it center. The plastic one had snapped causing the propeller to wobble causing it to stop. Hope this helps

  • @nargalda773
    @nargalda773 2 года назад +1

    actually if you keep geting E90 error constantly, and there is no water flow, in 99,9% sure your pump break, and if you are out of varranty, you just open your pump and replace shaft of propeller, which will be broken for sure, you need use some non magnetical material, like brass, or fiberglass, or you can buy buy whole replacement for just propeller with shaft, you dont need buy whole new pump, after you replace that with brass piece, you should be fine for some 2 years, all intex hot tubes have this problems with shafts, even intex admits thats their own design flaws, but still keep happily sell you new pumps

      in the video he said he tried that and it didn't work and that the pump is cheaply made so you can also easily break it as you fix the rod. the whole point of the video is to just bypass the cheap, complex fix (that you're referring to that might not even work), with an easier more expensive fix that is foolproof.
