I guess I forgot to mention, the chair I got was from Madison Seating over on EBay. I think I paid 900 something for a New Aeron remastered size B. These things can be had for significantly below the MSRP asking price and even less if you’re willing to settle for an open box model. Just make sure it’s got the options you want since these chairs have been around for a while.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Aeron. I’ve always heard that you should spend good money on things between you and the ground (mattresses, shoes, socks tires, chairs, etc) Good video, and maybe one day I will splurge
Another thing that the Aeron is better for use in humid Asian countries is the breathability of the mesh. If u live in a tropical humid country, the embody is just too hot and it stains easily if u perspire. The dead skin on our body can rub to the fabric leaving white stains if u are using a black embody...and a brighter colored fabric might have dark brownish stains. The mesh on the aeron don't pick stains at all and will look good as new even after years of usage.
I have the Logitech Embody and it’s the cyan version and it’s really breathable. I would not trade this chair in for the Aeron unless someone gave it to me for free. The company I work for paid for the Logitech Embody. I got mine brand new on eBay for about $1100 shipped and it was authentic and shipped directly from HM. No matter how hard i try, after a while i always start to lean forward when gaming (try hard syndrom i guess) and pretty much completely lose upper back support. Knowing that a chair like the aeron, with its forward tilt function, starts to make more and more sense to me personally.
@@rootcao1360 I'm on a different chair nowdays, that being the Haworth Fern. While the Fern has a forward tilt function as well, i never used it once apart from initially testing it. In the backrest's very upright position of the fern, which is what i use for gaming due to my "try hard syndrom" which i described in my initial post, i get very good back support already which leaves nothing more to be desired really. I'm just overall super happy with the Fern after having it for a year and i had all the top chairs for testing here with me (Embody, Aeron, Gesture, Leap and so on an so forth) but the Fern was the chair i felt the most happy with overall. I'm still super bummed that i bottomed out so quickly on the gesture (bearing in mind that i'm by no means a big and/or heavy person) because if that wouldn't have been the case, it would've been the Gesture for me. for anyone who's interested in the Aeron.. I have 2 years with mine and for the first week or couple of weeks I was really upset that it was a terrible and not comfortable at all chair. BUT... in fact, it forced me to change my sitting behavior and was in fact correcting my posture.. after I started to properly sit thanks to the chair... It spoiled me.. it is the most comfortable chair I have and I see other chairs as inferior! It is comfortable.. I don't feel pain in my lower back anymore... I can sit for 10 hours straight like nothing!... best purchase ever
Yep. Aeron is the only chair that teached me how to sit in a chair the right way. Had embody, zody and leap v2. And they allowed me to sit in positions that aint good for me. I also had slight pain in pelvic/sacrum/lumbar area that went a way and now can work my 9-5 easily. Aeron is king when you get the right size. Im 6,1 with size c
I tried out a BUNCH of chairs this week. Embody Mira2 Aeron Fern Zody Leap Aeron won for me. The level of adjustability and plus I'm tall, no other chair felt as comfy. Size C Aeron already ordered lol.
I’ve had the remastered for over 3 years and it has been a dream come true for all the reasons mentioned. I too tried the Embody. I was almost sucked in by the design, but even sitting in it for a few minutes, I knew it wasn’t right for me.
I agree with the points about the arm rests being better on the aeron and the ability to lean forward for productivity. However, I tried both chairs in person and I'm leaning towards buying the embody because I think the aeron chair isn't really a chair you could chill in after a day of work. For example, you can't really sit with your legs tucked on the aeron. Also, I tend to lean back and stretch my arms up quite frequently. This motion is so much more comfortable on the embody than it is on the aeron. Just my 2 cents.
Had an aeron for years and switched to embody. Aeron has the best arm rests in the game. Embody rattles and makes so much noise. Aeron actually feels likes its price tage. I’m switching back to my aeron.
I can only dream of owning an Aeron. Made a Facebook post a few years back saying I wanted one and no one except my audio engineer friends understood why anyone would pay that much for a chair haha. Some people will never get it.
Aeron are easy to find on used market too. Whilst Embody was more difficult to find especially for me in the UK. After owning both think personally I prefer Embody overall.
Embody has ZERO lumbar support. The curve that sticks out on the Embody pokes at your pelvic/sacrum region, which is just below the lumbar curve on adults. That curve on the Embody's backrest will only support your lumbar curve if you are maybe 3.5 feet or 4 feet in height. NONE of HM's documentation and advertising/marketing text ever mentions that the Embody has lumbar support, because it has no lumbar support. The remastered Aeron with PostureFit has full adjustable lumbar support, which HM also notes in their manuals and advertising/marketing text. People always mistaken the Embody's curved backrest as lumbar support, but Embody never had any lumbar support.
the pelvic poke your referencing to, i had that issue when i first bought my mine, however you have to break into it like a shoe by applying force in that region and the pain disappears after a week
@@salut9658 I'm happy with my chair, i recommend gently breaking into by applying gentle pressure in the lumbar support region then the pain should go, also you have a whole month before you can return it if you bought it directly from Herman miller or certified reseller. Also start on the least resistance lumbar support then slowly crank it up till you find a comfortable position each day
Seems like a Classic aluminum bottom and the unlimited tilt controls swapped to a remastered would be the ultimate chair. Toss in an Atlas headrest too
I actually returned a loaded Aeron Remastered for a loaded Mirra 2 a year or so ago. Not regretting it. The lumbar on the Mirra 2 is more encompassing and realized than the Aeron. Plus it has more flex in the back as well as the waterfall adjustment on the seat. If you can find one secondhand do give it a try it is worth your time!
I have both the Mirra and a remastered Aeron. For me the Mirra is a fantastic task chair. But for long hauls, I don’t even feel the Aeron and I need that. But I do sit/stand which I think is the best combo with these high end chairs.
To answer this question no not at all not even close the embody is supreme, but of course this won’t be true for 100% of people 100% of the time. That being said I’m glad you found a chair that works better for you the aeron is also great if you can deal with the plastic rim that digs into your thighs.

Aeron would be good for an office/work setting while embody more for entertainment and relaxing idk.

I don't own either, but from sitting in them, have always thought I liked the aeron more. I feel like most people are after the classic "gamer" look, and the embody is way closer to that, and the aeron just looks like a classic office chair. Embody doesn't fall into this category like the typical gaming chair, but most people don't realize that OSHA approved basic looking office chairs are way better than most "gaming" chairs, and most will hold up way longer than them lol
I have both chairs latest versions ...Aeron Size C ... better support the fabric that makes contact with skin has no stretch and you are forced to sit straight no relaxing ...outer trim plastic digs into thighs so you have to have knees kind of together .back side you cannot even stretch arms out, back plastic trim digs into back shoulders. The Embody definitely needs better armrests but the Aeron has great ones already. The ones from the Leap v2 are good, but not as plush and big as the Aeron's. The Gesture is just something else entirely lol.
arm rest like the leap gesture or fern which I tried were all way too moveable.. they move way too easy in all kinds of directions. it's just annoying. I find it the worst design ever made for armrests. you need the option to lock them completely in one spot if you find the right one. Aeron is the best in my opinion. Embody was fine but nothing special
Indeed! I feel the aeron was not at all designed to fit narrow people. Size A would still not be arrow enough. The arm rests are so wide, I have to wing out my elbows which ruins the ergonomics. I adore my gesture armrests but prefer. Mesh or leather seat.
I love that the arm rest push back. I like to sit really close to my desk when I'm gaming and the arm rests on my chair don't have the adjustment necessary to sit as close as I like to without having to remove the padding of the arm rest.
My impressions of the cosm was that it's pretty comfortable but it's got virtually no adjustments especially with the leaf arms. It's meant for a work office conference room setting where you have random people sitting in the chairs and the chair just adapts to the user. For a personal chair, dialing in the adjustments is better IMO.
