OMG Thank you Phil for actually taking the time to watch this one. Your book as been amazing on so many levels. It's still challenging, making me find new ways of playing the grooves or filling the gaps. Big fan of yours. All the best sir!
Hey Denis!! Great Audio mix for a bedroom or a mancave....😆👍🏼!!! I love the mix of Zildjian's and Sabian's that you have!! I have been doing that for years, only to catch the occasional criticism that I am not showing brand loyalty!! BUTTTTTT, until I get an endorsement deal...(I don't see any coming down the pipeline anytime soon...) I will continue to do just that, put up what I think is necessary to get the job done!! I have A's, K's, AAX's, HHX's, and *Gospel's and *Classic's! (*=Soultone cymbals) I sadly miss my RUDE's that I got rid of years ago when I was young and foolish and only wanted to play Sabian's!! Of course with age, comes wisdom (hopefully for most!!😉) and inside knowledge, not too mention a small fortune spent on Drum gear...!! Like why couldn't I have been a singer, ya know, a couple of Shure's, like a 57 and 58, maybe even a Beta 58 and boom your in the door and laying it down, and if your doing studio work they'll have just the right mic to get the job done, no need to be lugging around a Neumann U67 and it's power supply...ehyyyy!!😆 But I just thought I'd share my thoughts on "blending" cymbals, and it is good to know that I am not the only cat out there doing that...!! PLUS..., now I can prove to those who have called me crazy all these years about putting up different cymbals and how I am NOT THE ONLY ONE who is doing that!! ANYWAY, KEEP ON KEEPING ON BROTHER DRUMMER!!!!!!! PEACE🤘🏼!!!!!!!
Hi Bk! Ahahah yeah. i'm not sponsored and love the freedom of not being sponsored. I own multiple companies of cymbals and will use them accordingly to what I need. If i'm looking for a specific sound and it happens to be with Paiste or Sabian, I don't stop at the name and just go for it. That is one of the hang ups I don't get from US drummers. ;P Just go with it. That being said, I tend to go back more often to Zilldjian. I guess my ear likes them so. I don't question it and go for it. And today there is so much choice, it comes down to just preferences and your budget of course :) So enjoy the freedom and play whatever the hell you want my friend :) Cheers!
@@DenisRichardJr Absolutely!! To the ears, go the spoils!! And Like you said, not being pidgeon holed into one brand of cymbals has kept me working when others are not!! If a performance requires a certain brand I can cover it, and even if I don't have what they want, I will go and get at least the basics... hats, at least one crash and a ride!! Which I have yet to run into a situation where I was not able to get through the session, live or studio... NOW, as long as they don't ask me to have a crapload Menil's we're good to go!! 😂🤣🤘🏽
Hi Richard! (great name btw ;P) I'm well. I haven't practiced this much in ages. So covid has been good for the drumming. I'm planning a whole bunch a videos but wanted to do this one first. It was fun to revisit and make a new verison of it. And yeah the beard is me saying why not. Not like i'm going anywhere soon. Keep safe my friend. Thanks for viewing the video . :)
Right on Denis! Many greetings and its great to hear you playing from the book! All the best!
