Another Tears For Fears cover. What can I say? I just love this group. And my first cover of them has been quite appreciated so far. So, why not another one. And lately, I’m digging to play slower tunes. They have a way to show you how harder it is to play slow and be tight! So, my goal was to be like white on rice on that bass line as much as possible without it sounding ‘’quantized’’ (sigh). The beat is simple but so tasty and the little fills are fun to play. And it is just one of those tunes I wanted to cover.
The start is a little nod at the official video and the last lyric of the song. Instead of just sitting there waiting, I thought I’d have a little silliness since we all need it in these strange times. Mr. Hawking even makes an appearance of sorts in this one. I swear 😊
Hopefully, this will help you play the song like on the record.

That is so weird I had this album on my turntable this week, first time in years.

I've loved this song forever, and loved to drum along with it, but those fills were always a bit of a bother. Finally, after years and years, I realized I should check RUclips drum covers and see what folks have done... so here I am, I looked at 4-5 other covers and have now found yours... and sonuvagun you GOT IT. That open sticking you do for those sections with the clever syncopated fills are a great solution to make it flow so much easier. I won't shame other vids, but no one else got this close to the original fills. So kudos to you, keep on rocking... will have to check out your other vids now!
