My wife and I grew up through this era, and we boogied. no drugs just lots of enthusiasm. Kids of today don' know what they are missing out on. Great clip, thanks.
I've watched this over and over! These kids are great and the band also! I remember back in the 50's, my cousin gave me my 1st dance lesson and a lot of these steps were taught to me. This should be an Olympic sport! They work very hard at what they do. LOVE IT!
Awesome! William and Maeva are two of my all-time favorites. Nicolas and Melanie, I swear they don't care at all about either physics, but especially gravity.
Awesome dancers and Piano player . All are so talented and amazing

at 73 years old, I still do this, I teach dance, line, swing, couples country westren, ballroom, linde, salas, lambada, I loved this video, watch it over and over, JR Massachusetts.
I am 75 this year and we teens fiftyfive years ago adopted some of the moves from Jitterbug and Jive dancing, and created the Bebop or just the Bop. I can still do it today, just for not as long!!
I’m 73 also but I’m only dancing in my mind and heart. Back in the good old days I could dance all night. We had so much fun, I still think our music was the best. My 7 year old granddaughter just had a music program at school where they dressed up as old people, we put her hair in a bun and sprayed it gray and they sang the the songs of the 50’s. It was so cute to hear her practicing her songs around the house, she said she loved the music too. You could sing it and dance to it. Now you can’t do either to modern music. They had so much fun with it.
Dancing the Boogie Woogie is most fun I have when I need to loosing up my joints! At my senior age, it’s getting a little harder to do the cartwheels though! So, this is the guy that showed Liberace how to play the Boogie Woogie!
Wow! Too bad "kids" today don't know how to dance to have fun. But thanks to the Big Band Era world wide, Boogie Woogie will be around for a long time.. Thanks for your upload, thanks that the world has RUclips. Paul from Spokane Washington, USA!
For me they are all good: musicians and dancers. Cordial greetings. ruclips.net/video/P6Xr-e0rcT0/видео.html *ROCKABILLY GUITAR* in the style of *Vince Gordon*
Yep so agree with you Terry Turner....awesome for sure....i so miss this type of dancing. my dad taught us to dance like that...sure do miss it...married a non dancer unfortunitly.....
THIS MAKES MEMORIES WORTHWHILE. I USED TO DO THIS TYPE OF DANCING, BUT TWO MINOR STROLES AND BEING 86 YEARS OF AGE HAS PUT A STOP TO IT.. NICE I CAN WATCH THESE KIDS DO IT ALL SO WELL. AND DREAM IT IS ME OUT THERE..THE PIANIST IS THE BEST.
suzette9999 I can guarantee you that it is. I miss it every day and it is honestly, a top driving force in my moving back from the coastal regions of Oregon into town again, as opportunity to dance at all, let alone on a near daily basis doesn’t present itself often enough out here to satisfy my craving.
c est tout simplement electrisant ...Je veux danser...on a le gout de bouger,c est de la danse ca mon amie alors accroche toi et go lets rock...super!!!
From the rhythm of Boogie Woogie, so many beautiful Rockabilly hits were born. Best regards. ruclips.net/video/oxK7d1BQk4g/видео.html *NASHVILLE BOOGIE* Gibson Guitar cover by *Bert Weedon*
Joseph Badger --- I'm sure, that to many ears, during that time, this music would've been quite risque...particularly when compared the the more "wholesome" music that preceded it. It would have probably been the equivalent of "grunge rock" today. And One can only surmise about the types of music that will one-day make "grunge" seem wholesome. It's a terrifying thought, to be sure, but I suppose that each of our generations must carry the mantle of our age...with each passing era being "The Good Ol` Days" when compared to an ever-unfolding Present. Take care, and be well, Good Sir!
That tune they danced to is from the movie Pulp Fiction It took me a couple of times to recall where I had heard it before....That dance with Uma and the dude with long hair.
Long haired dude is John Travolta. And perhaps the dance in Pulp Fiction was based on the popular dances from the 70's? It's not like they invented it in PF
Merci !

I'm betting there is not one MAN ALIVE who doesn't almost feint looking at Maeva dancing! Oh, my Christ, those perpetual-motion legs.....! I can die happy now.
I the style of dancing at a Christmas talent at my school and me and my girlfriend won it was so much fun I was there were clubs where they would play big band music and people are just swing dancing it would be so much fun we need to bring this style of dancing back
I remember when my body could move like that, even though I had two left feet, but why is it that my mind still thinks I could do it? Dreaming, I guess! Very impressive!
To make this whole thing work the pianist and the drummer have to have a fantastic trust in each other! Wow! 'Course the dancers are, um, uh, pretty good, too...
The first couple are good but the second couple (William and Maeva) are amazing. I had to watch 1:45 twice to make sure I really saw what I thought I saw!

If only this great American music and dance could return to America.

This was awesome and I'll watch it several times this week.
I WATCH IT SEVERAL TIMES EACH WEEK, AND IT GETS BETTER EACH TIME. THOSE KIDS ARE GREAT, AND THE PIANIST FANTASTIC.
I'm 27 and an old soul. This is just awesome to me!

This is what kids did for fun! NO knockout games, no drive-by shooting, no gangs, no drugs, no killings. I miss those days.
This is still what we do for fun! :) Though I'm not sure if I can still call myself a kid.
GREAT BYGONE TIMES.
Evidently you grew up in a bubble. Not everyone had it easy, and no era in history has been drug free or crime free.
Plenty of bad times in history,, doesn't mean there weren't people who were lucky enough to be untouched by them.

It must be the most liberating style of music to dance to. I can play the stuff but only imagine dancing like this in my dreams.
suzette9999 I can guarantee you that it is. I miss it every day and it is honestly, a top driving force in my moving back from the coastal regions of Oregon into town again, as opportunity to dance at all, let alone on a near daily basis doesn’t present itself often enough out here to satisfy my craving.
East coast swing and single-time swing are my wheelhouse, and insofar as those are concerned, I agree. I'd love to be able to play also though.
c est tout simplement electrisant ...Je veux danser...on a le gout de bouger,c est de la danse ca mon amie alors accroche toi et go lets rock...super!!!

I can say that it was great being around when the BOOGIE-WOOGIE craze was at its peak from 1920-1945. :)

Me too- I watched it and paused it a few times till i worked out how to do it-- it was a real partneship effort-- the girl used her arm strength by gripping her ankles and pulling tight to cause friction between them as she slid down to the floor.

I agree, that part was amazing !
