    Appreciate all the time and effort you put into making this video. Many folks were looking for this comparison, complete stock vs. stock and you delivered what I believe to be a great fair and honest comparison. I personally like them both but you cannot beat what Redcat is offering for the price. I also like how Redcat is allowing new drivers the chance to experience a brushless crawler at a RTR price. I hope the other big name companies are paying attention and a new standard for RTR crawlers emerges over the next couple years.

      @2fmrc As far as I'm concerned, all of the RTR trucks have their weak points. Most of them seem to have weak servos. A lot of them have mediocre tires unless you do a little snipping. There is always something to add to these trucks to make them perform a little better. But, I've been looking into the Redcats quite a bit lately, and a few of their RTR trucks are a really solid starting point. The Fusion seems to perform pretty well out of the box. I also think the Marksman is an awesome rig out of the box. Yea, the servos and tires are meh. But a decent servo is like $60, trim the tires up, a couple other little mods, and presto. You got a solid little truck.

    Thanks for the video brother
    Man thanks to your research info i pulled the trigger on this Ascent Fusion!
    2 questions
    1.Im running 1500 3s ZEEE Lipo im charging at 1.5A!! What voltage im i supposed to be charging it at currently it’s at 4.20V ???
    2. I got a set of regular injora wheels 1.9 i will be putting on the stock ascent tires once i get the beadlock wheels off
    I coudnt decide on what silicone inserts to get so i got both from injora The greens soft and the blue mediums i know your not a big fan of the silicone inserts but it was the budget i could work with
    I believe the weight bias of the truck is 60-40% i thought about running the green soft inserts in the rear and the blue mediums in the front just based on the bias creating a stable platform
    What would u do on the inserts thanks again for all your information brother much appreciated since im new to all this RC stuff literally its been weeks

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  8 месяцев назад +2

      1.5amps is fine. Should top out around 4.19 or 4.2 usually. I normally try to go with a bit stiffer foam in the rear. You want the side hill stability and soft squish for clawing your way up stuff in the front and not loosing your turning on side hill. For me I like a bit stiffer in the rear usually because when you start up something all of your weight wants to transfer to the rear and it needs the support from a bit stiffer foam or insert. That’s just the way I normally set them up.

    • @Senditjp247
      @Senditjp247 8 месяцев назад

      @@2fmrc thanks brother I heard its great also to run the soft greens up front and the blues in rear for that same reason

    Great video! If this was 4 years ago I'd have gone with the Redcat as I was just getting into crawlers & it has so much going for it out of the box. But now I'd go for the the Vanquish as it has inferior electronics but is able to be upgraded past the Redcat. I have a Vanquish VS$-10 Falken RTR which is amazing & will upgrade the motor/esc to a Fusion 2300 in the next little while to make it even better. But the Redcat is a great all in one & raises the game in its segment & price point.

    I believe the stance is a better design, as far as the motor placement goes, also the S.O.A. is my favorite! The overall center of gravity along with with that longer wheel base looks impressive! I have heard that the Redcat has a 60-40 weight bias, and it seems perfect for all the lines here in Idaho Falls! I have not seen the stance in person yet, so I can't really say one way or another. About it being better than the Redcat. I always look at the parts list first, before buying a new rc car. And looking at the stance parts list, I will test and tune the Redcat for a while. And keep an eye on the stance parts list. Maybe someday I will throw down on the stance...

    I have to agree with Mike on this one. So... take the Ascent Fusion, $100 that you saved vs Stance, get the DSM cf chassis, there's your angled skid. Or wait for Ryan Short's chassis currently being designed (That's what I'm waiting to see), Ruptures, and inserts on both. Right there alone, I believe the Ascent takes Stance every time. But then, Stance still needs all new electronics. I feel the more you go on dumping the same amount in each rig, it's still a win every time for Ascent, imo...

    Just for fun, fusion motor in stance , stance tires on fusion. Do you prefer longer wheel base or alittle more wider a platform?

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  8 месяцев назад +1

      It really depends what I’m gonna do with the build. Obviously the wider stance helps out in a lot of sidehill etc but for me sometimes I like the more narrow stance to slide in tight spots. I usually see what most in my area are running and go the other direction lol. I like to be different.

    Built 6 1/24 scales with in 2 years. When i saw the Fusion announced i immediately bought it (first adopter) for once i found a rig that doesnt need much. Ive ripped and sheered links already, literally reversed it off a mountain. And i havent needed anything but the initial cvd rebuild when it first lauched and a set of front lower links.
    I like it the way it is. For once its nice to not have to spend another $100-$200 just to compete at a local comp.

      Yeah normally I probably would’ve backed out of that one but gotta test them lol. The thing that helps the Redcat gears is the slipper. It really won’t allow it to strip the gears. You can heat it whine a bit at one point. It does its job well!

    Come on, man. Just because we don't agree with your opinions doesn't mean we think your Lying.
    Do you think those Redcat tires will break-in and get any better? They just have that 'new' look and I have to think they'll change with wear.
    I've got a Redcat coming and I think the front shocks need those inner springs removed and your hairbands added. What do you think?
    Great video, BTW. You really nailed it! I'd like to see what would happen if you swapped tires!
    You're in Kentucky, right? I going to Indianapolis to see the Eclipse in a couple weeks and I plan on having a half a day check out the rocks on the way. Have you got any suggestions off the Interstate coming up from Nashville? I know you've got something dialed in. Isn't that your area?

      lol yeah I get bashed quite a bit by some. No matter what I say or do 😆. Nolin Dam tail waters is a spot that’s about 30 mins from munfordville exit on i65. That’s about the closest spot to i65 that we hit regularly and I know is good. It’s a pretty awesome spot. I have a couple vids on crawling there. It’s the spot where there’s a lot of blacktop between the rocks. It’s always the same so it’s a great spot to test trucks etc. Lots of great lines! Not quite sure what we are planning to do that day but Liam and I could possibly even meet you over that way. Search up Nolin Dam Crawling and you should see my vids on it. Let me know if it looks like a spot you’d wanna check out! Shoot me an email if ya want. My email should be in the description of the video 🤘🏼

    I swapped out the stock Traxxas sport electronics, for the Redcat electronics. It transformed the sport into a totally different machine!!! And these Redcat electronics are nowhere close to top of the line electronics, unless you compare them with the stock Traxxas TRX4 electronics. Because they feel superior to me!!! 🤔

    Exocage got a little thrashing for doing a comparison on 2 diff tires and in this, 2 diff motors as well.
    here's the problem with comparisons like this; in full scale, there are conditions for which segment each vehicle is in; in crawler competition same thing. so, they should be judged only within their class rules. otherwise, I fear there is both a bit of bias and misunderstanding of what they can actually do.
    I really look forward to all your videos because I hear you have the more objective approach to most rigs.
    right away, we see that rtr's using low quality parts so the value isn't that high; we replace so much out of them and these are not entry level rigs neither at their price point.
    But I have also recently been converted to kits; we need more kits. better value and quality products. rtrs should be around 200 for these parts.
    We should all be more critical in our hobby as well and demand better from mnfts and lower prices.
